I think you are missing some important information. Premier Pro rendering speed is very dependent upon the CPU, whereas Resolve relies more heavily on the GPU. The test results you showed can easily be explained by having a top-end CPU. Since you never shared with us the CPU that was used for the benchmarks, I can't trust that the results you got are really indicative of GPU performance. You also failed to state whether you are using the free or Studio version of Resolve. Only the Studio version makes full use of the GPU for rendering.

Was expecting an in-depth analysis (speed, image quality, video quality, timeline dragging, experience, etc)... instead ended up with someone who based things off "MSRP" (which doesn't mean anything) and reading Puget benchmarks - not even his own. WTF! Obviously, this guy clearly has only used Nvidia his entire career (didn't even mention CUDA and why it works better for these programs). Wasted 5 minutes of my life... if you're going to be giving an opinion on these cards, you should've tested these before actually throwing an opinion piece. I have both Nvidia and AMD GPUs (3080/70/60 and the 6800XT/6800/6700XT) - used these for editing as well. I know Nvidia is inherently better (see CUDA reasoning) but I could give a better technical perspective than this guy on my AMD editing experience as well. 🤷‍♀️

@@dv2045 Hi, I only use Premiere and Photoshop primarily. I was expecting other app comparison in this video but obviously there was nothing to see here. The noticeable difference that I can tell you is the export times. It is slightly faster with Nvidia cards.. it does not matter so much for me as I export things before I go sleep. Those few minutes difference may matter to someone who actually is time-bound. No issues with timeline dragging on both cards (unless if you're CPU bound). It may be different with Da Vinci Resolve but I wouldn't know as I don't use it. So, unless if you really need the extra VRAM of the 3080, the 3070 looks like a decent option for editing as well. 👍

And yet, when using Davinci Resolve in Linux all performance gains are completely obliterated by the out of sync with the rest of the FOSS community closed source Nvidia blobs. A system update to Linux has caused production outages for Nvidia users while Nivida scrambles to update their drivers to remain in sync. For that reason, even though AMD is barely matching last gen Nvidia, if you require Linux it's still best to stick with AMD

I have a 6700XT and I recently tried encoding videos in Davinci Resolve 18, albeit free version, thus CPU was mostly utilized for the entire process, and I have issues with the end result bitrate of the video. Even if I upped the max bitrate to 120000 it still ended up closer to 20000 on my video in the end. This is due to the fact that 6700XT is not that powerful for rendering videos. I switched back to my GTX 1070 and I had no issue pulling a 110000 bitrate on the same video. This actually means a lot when you upload that video on youtube which butchers the end quality on your videos. Sticking to team green until team red reaches the same performance on video rendering.

@@MrZerosami2 I was on top of all the existing forum threads about the AMD Drivers and their state in December 2022. I spent the full month diagnosing and trying to make it work. I did a lot of things, among which more than 20 DDUs, used a couple of various driver versions, clean Windows install with fresh drivers and finally, tested it on a different machine to exclude hardware incompatibility on my side. It did not change the end result, poor processing and low bitrate on exported videos. You mention Premiere Pro, dude I was talking about Davinci Resolve 18. I read all the possible threads on the Black Magic Forum which is the official one for Davinci Resolve and I still could not make the AMD GPU perform better. Don’t let me get started about the issues of the AMD driver with Chrome or Chromium based apps. Lagging as hell when using hardware accelerated apps or while using more than one monitor. I even sent the first card back to exclude it as being the culprit. There was nothing else left for me to do with it. I changed back to Nvidia and bought the 4070 Ti at launch and I didn’t even have to do more than a clean DDU and then just rendered a video in Davinci Resolve with whatever bitrate I set. Works perfectly, almost out of the box.

I like what Nvidia is doing, I like that they're going ARM with Grace. To me RISK and open source have always gone together well, but that is a cpu. As far as GPU's go, I am hoping the others are wrong. But with the green teams behavior lately I suspect I may be wrong. From the moment I heard about grace I figured I'd end up team green all over. But I too love* the open source revolution (with some minor cheap Chinese asterisks) and might have switch up if Nvdia keeps acting like the Empire (and in a color switch twist of fate, AMD is the rebellion....our only hope) But it seems Nvdia performs and innovates better so I hope that is incorrect somehow. Sorry, long rant. TL;DR I am interested in your question, plan to investigate it, am biased towards team green, but have doubts about their ethics. I would say a week ago is pretty recent? www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/DaVinci-Resolve-Studio---AMD-Radeon-RX-6900-XT-Performance-2032/ 3. The Smart Access Memory (SAM) will give you up to 11% performance on some of the games. Now with professional applications the margin is not that big, maybe half of that if that's IF we even have any. Hope that helps with the confusion :)

@ TL;DR: Nvidia just works, simple as that. Now I don't know about the sponsorship part, but for editing most softwares connect much better with Nvidia drivers for timeline playback, especially on 4k editing. Nvidia encoders are much better too, and more reliable than Radeon -- EposVox video about "x264 vs NVENC vs AMF" shows that. AMD just doesn't make good drivers for content creation. Even a Blender render with Radeon can produce a not-too-accurate result sometimes. Big channels like LTT and like I said EposVox (which has A TON of videos, e-mails and even GitHub issues trying a lot to push AMD to make better drivers and hoping for better days on content creation, to no success yet) have discussed and benchmarked these things, and Team Green still has the edge. Bear in mind that it's not horrible to produce content on AMD graphics cards. It's just unreliable. You may need to jerryrig and to tinker a bit... or more than a bit. And still the result may be worse than a Nvidia-equivalent card anyway.

If you're reading this comment and wondering why the Benchmark seem to be Biased. Well, it is. Adobe Headquarters is & has always been using NVidia GPUs only! In the past 22 years and still counting. The bottom line here if you want to see Radeon cards being better in Adobe Apps in General, we need Lisa Su to do some lobbying with Adobe. I'm not even kidding.
