I got my son a intel a380 for Christmas, his old rx 580 actually did better in most titles. We returned it and got one of these for the same price. EDIT: Then, we found a 1070 TI that was in a surplus pre-built and decided to keep the 5500 in the box so if anyone is looking for one ....lol 🤣

@@HardWhereHero Uff, yeah, I think the a380 was meant for more commercial uses, like running a display as your menu for a drive-thru restaurant or something.

Good review! I have a RTX3070 running 1440P games, and a RX5500XT running 1080P just fine.

The amount of RAM was the biggest surprise. I am still using it daily with my z97 platform for 1080p and 1440p gaming. Benchmarks on my channel

Same here, only last year I scored an h97i-plus w a 4770k for 45 bucks after picking up an xfx rx 5500xt 4gb version for 50 bucks the same week to replace my dead eluktronics laptop lol, still daily driving it and its not any worse measurably than a laptop 7700hq + 1050ti and Im happy with that hahaha

They are all over AliExpress and newegg for around 90 bucks. I have bought several over the last year or more.

Its like an RX 580 but has driver support. Good card NGL.

I ran a rx 5500xt 8gb card from 2019-2022 and loved it. I did upgrade to a 3060 12gb but damn was it good. And actually recently snagged one of of Newegg for a pc I’m building for my dad for his birthday

just built first rig instead of buying one. used the rx580 8gb at first switched to this and have been happy every since. right now playing bg3 and no problems

@@rccorcoles7082 I haven't used the 3050 but the 5500 xt boosted me up into the 100 fps range over the 40-60 I was getting with the 580. originally I had a 75 hz monitor and the 580 was struggling, currently running a 120 hz monitor and the 5500xt is keeping up.

Great card for its price and being a 1st gen RDNA. More VRAM, more PCIe lanes and more memory bandwidth than its successor too which is hilarious. Enjoy

i still have today and played everything included die ligh 2, elden ring warhamer 3 easy , i just not tried d dogma 2, because has to put all settings low

Great video. Interesting GPU. The weird thing is the next GPU the 5600XT only has 6GB. Got to wonder what AMD was thinking on that one. Way to confuse the AMD customer base.

Nvidia are just as bad with their cards. Like with the 3060 having 12GB and the 3060 Ti having 8GB.

@@ProYamYamPC Oh absolutely. or even multiple versions of the same GPU with different specs. The only one that doesn't seem up to these kinds of games is Intel but I figure just give it time.

Agreed. A 100%. I bought it for 100 dollars or so, and it still works 2 years later, it runned every game i played, even helldivers 2

I have a white Peladn 5500XT 8GB with the following components: 1. Gigabyte B450 mATX WiFi 2. Ryzen 5 5500 CPU 3. Silicon Power 32GB DDR4 3200Mhz RAM 4. Team Group 1TB MP34 NVMe SSD 5. Cooler Master White 650w Modular PSU 6. Zalman Iceberg White mATX Case With FSR2/3 enabled almost all games are 60FPS+ without frame gen enabled.

I can't find any RX5500XT 8GB in my country though. There's china version i found but obviously china Just repackaged it from mini g card

Is it worth it to get this card new for around $130ish?

I would recommend a CPU which supports PCIe gen 4. Something like a modern i3 12100F would be an excellent pairing. But if you wanted to use an older processor like a 6th gen i7 or something, that would be ok too.

i got rx 5500 but its not 8gb vram sadly😢

had a rx5700xt mech oc, like it but not the best exp, i play in 1440, it makes consistent 60 fps on mid-high, so it's alright, but the temperatures, god, before i changed thermal interface, it was fuckinh horrible, but after buying expensive asf thermal grizzly pads, the problem is gone, in games it's 105 hotspot, and 55-65 vram

You are using a 1080p card for 1440p gaiming.

ANY 1660 will take a dump on this card from a very high height even with only 6g Vram. My mate is pulling his hair out with this card atm and he should of listen to me when he was doing the build 3 years ago and he would of been a lot happier with the 1660.

I’d recommend pairing it with the i7 4770. And make sure your motherboard supports PCIe gen 3. I believe the H chipset boards for Haswell were 2nd gen.

This is not an underrated card , everybody knows that it is quite strong for 1080p gaming but the problem is that you need a motherboard that supports pci express 4.0 If you use it on older motherboard it performs quite a bit worse.

Not necessarily, a lot of people thought this was just an RDNA RX 580 (myself included). It's quite overlooked too. I'm not sure if it would fully saturate a PCIe Gen 3 x8 slot. It is some testing I can do.

CS-2 is a CPU benchmark. Thats just how the game works. It’s in my suite of CPU benchmarks though

This gpu was a goat at it’s time, but I want to replace it with a 4060 because it showink it’s age

Starfield shows 44 fps on average on yiur recording, yet you caim 56 fps. Wooooot? U think we are blind?

You do know recording lowers the FPS? And different circumstances will give a different frame rate. I don't think you're blind, but I think you lack knowledge on this subject
