AMD Ryzen 9 5900X vs Apple M1 in Cinebench R23

Фильм және анимация

Comparison of AMD Ryzen 9 5900X and Apple M1 CPUs in Cinebench R23. Single core and multi core benchmark ran on both systems. All tests results are frame perfect and the clock starts the instant the benchmark begins (black canvas appears) and ends when the score is displayed on screen.
Systems used:
PC
Ryzen 9 5900X (stock clocks)
32GB DDR4 3200 RAM
NVidia GeForce RTX 3090
Windows 11
Mac
512GB M1 Mac Mini
8 Core CPU/GPU
8GB RAM
Mac OS Monterey
These machines seem worlds apart, and for the most part they truly are, but check out how close the single core benchmarks are on both systems...The M1 is a single core beast!

Not bad for that M1. So, it has "unified memory" to work in conjunction with the GPU? Does that mean it has some kind of GDDR5/6x RAM? Not that it made a huge difference, but it made quite the difference considering the lack of cores. They're just both built different, that's for sure. Still not suer why people buy them. You can buy a PC, have 4 times the RAM, a CPU with 12-16+ full power cores... AND a dedicated GPU with anywhere from 8-24GB GDDR6x vRAM for less than whatever that costs.. and you can't even add RAM to the Mac 😞 So, yes, it's neat from a technical standpoint but it's lame from a "do it all" standpoint IN MY OPNINION.

I was comparing stock settings to a stock M1 to highlight the difference.. I'm sure I could get a much better CB score if I introduced a bit of OC or auto tuning into the mix :)
