No, the 6700XT equals it and that card can be had for as little as $299. Maybe some would spend the extra $50 for the 4050Ti features but FSR 3.1 and independent frame gen really closes that gap. Its a very impressive improvement and the driver based FG works on near every DX11-12 game

Ofc if you can run 4x DSR you're not running into anti-alias, but Nvidia can do 2.25x DLDSR which is as good as your 4x 4k on 1080p. The issue is you're not using that with actual settings. @@albert2006xpsaid nobody ever other than you. Why is it acceptable to anyone to have to buy a 1440p or 4k system to only be forced to play in 1080p because that system can't handle the gimmick that is ray and path tracing at a reasonable frame rate? Once enabling that feature while running native with no upscalers doesn't drop the fps by half or more (even when running a 4090 it does that) it won't be a gimmick. It MIGHT look better (kind of) but it's not worth dropping below 60 fps for (much less the 30 you say you are fine with at 1080p). Especially if you are playing any kind of multiplayer game. Don't get me wrong. The concept is very cool, and I can't wait for it to be viable for every game. But it's nowhere near usable or even worthwhile for the VAST majority of gamers, and even the 4090 doesn't really get there in newer games at a reasonable fps at 4k, and the 4090 is wasted on playing anything at 1440p much less 1080p. The MINIMUM you should have to do ray tracing of any kind is a 4070 super. Don't tell me the 2070 can even come close to handling a modern ray traced title. That's flat out lying, no matter how your tweak the settings. Unless you want to play in 720p I guess, at which point it's not worth it for the drop on resolution. It's a gimmick, and it will continue to be a gimmick for at least 2 or 3 more gpu generations. Additionally, this video is specifically giving info for GAMING. Why bring up workstation performance when it isn't relevant to this conversation? Zero craps are given about that here.

Best you can do is try to shame people for not buying a raster only product at their own expense just to stick it to Nvidia? AMD had three times this market share before they started going downhill. It's not just "oh people buying nvidia because branding". They legitimately lost the market share on their own. They need to release a series of proper cards with proper RT/tensor core equivalents and a DL-FSR that actually utilizes them. Not to mention CUDA emulation out of the box. GPU youtube comments are like an unpaid AMD marketing department, so you saying this is funny. Native does not look as good as DLDSR+DLSS at same performance. Native means you use the basic TAA anti-aliasing the game has, which is awful. Nobody's buying a 4060 Ti 16Gb for pure game performance. It's a price gouged way to get a 16Gb Nvidia card for local AI. Which sucks but if you can't afford a 4070 Ti Super or 4080 when the card actually came out, you don't have other options. Considering the alternative is getting extorted with 8Gb cards at those prices, it could be worse. I wish the next gen has the same pay $100 more to double VRAM option because I 100% will take it, preferably a 5070 24Gb though. That's preferable to getting more raster performance but being scammed on VRAM because Jensen doesn't have to compete with his own AI server products when the GPU competition is so bad. Working overtime to stan AMD for their lack of effort isn't helping, in fact, it just encourages them to keep dropping the ball. I have more faith in Intel at this point in the GPU market. They show a little bit of a promise that we might eventually get out from under Nvidia's tyrannical monopoly.

And 30 dollars cheaper that's just nothing comparing to my daily living cost if I'm going to use these GPU for 1 year or more. in some area in 2022, my 1 year power fee for running 7x24 with 4 300W GPUs can buy almost 4 more GPUs, that's insane and is why I consider performance per power very seriously.

you can see in ghost game that the shimmering effect is less with DLSS on vs native 1440p.. or screen door effect if you look at the windows on buildings.. other than that i don't think there is much a difference

Daniel, before handing out wins for DLSS vs FSR quality by default, keep in mind that Hellblade and others still give you the option to also use Intel XeSS. In Hellblade I needed just a small bump to get over 60 and XeSS did that at a better quality than FSR, so that option is always there, eliminates some of the typical FSR artifacts with a slightly lower FPS bump.

You should take into account that on AMD GPUs XESS performs significantly slower than FSR. Especially on older and weaker ones (like 6600/6650/XT and 5700/XT). So XESS is not always the best way to play games. It depends on a certain game and certain card. Faster cards loose less frames when switching to XESS.

@@stangamer1151 I stated that in my comment - if you need just a small FPS bump to get over 60 but want better image quality, try XeSS. If FPS is your main concern use FSR and live with a slightly softer image or a bit of shimmering. I didn't say it's the best option, just that it IS an option and alternative. I use it in Hellblade 2 to get from somewhere in the 50s just to a steady 60 at a better quality, if I wanted 70 FPS I'd use FSR.

Even in AI, the 7800xt is better than 4070 because the extra VRAM you get which is very important in AI workloads. And it will absolutely blow the 4060ti 16GB out of the water since 7800xt has twice the memory bandwidth. So if you care about AI, 7800xt is still a better GPU. AMD's ROCm has gotten a lot better in the last year, and I think no doubt will continue to close the gap with CUDA.

In my locale, the cheapest "On Sale" price 4060 Ti 16GB is US$560 and no AMD GPUs. The nearest neighboring country for 4060 Ti 16GB is US$525 and the RX 7800 XT is US$555. We don't get much of these manufacturers' support price cards as these cards are mainly brought in by private retailers when new, and thus, unable to offer much discounts as they bear the loss if discounted too much. I envy USA consumers that are able to get good pricing on PC components.
