I think this area is my favourite of your more regular riding places. The scenery is awesome and the trails are wild. A great place to get to for some pedalling. Fantastic work as always

Thanks mate. The rocks is what I love most about the Lakes, keeps the trails interesting and to all intents and purposes, not impacted by the weather 👍

I have fond memories of when we did this ride, that descent we missed due to lack of time looked mint, such a shame we didn't find the time for that one, it's a bigger shame you didn't take your camera, it was a superb ride, loved watching this one, showing me how it's meant to be rode 😂👍 cracking video mate 👍

Thanks mate. Weirdly, although I did have a camera then (not even a year ago), I had absolutely no intensions whatsoever of starting a KZread channel, partly because I couldn't be arsed and partly because I had no real way of editing videos. At least you can now see what the missing descent is like and hopefully soon, we'll ride it 👍

Another great vid Jason .....I’ve unfortunately never ridden there....but it definitely is MTB heaven ! 👍

Thanks mate. I guess it's a fair old way for you to travel, too far for a single day so maybe we'll have to sort out a weekender at some point 👍

Another great trail, we use to horse riding groups through the water on Rydal as well at the part you mentioned, old home was Cote How. Great video this one, was certainly a trip down memory lane. Lots of parties have been held in Rydal caves as well back in the day 🤣 great video mate, riding spot on but more for the memories it raised for me that one 👍🏼👍🏼

It's such a good loop, can't believe that I didn't know half of it even existed before a couple of years ago, even though I've been riding in the area since the mid 90's. Sometimes, you don't notice what's right under your nose 😃

Hey, just heard you used to work at wainwrights……so did I, 1995 for the summer! When we’re you there? We may have crossed paths…….I worked at Dodds in Ambleside the follow year too.

Yep, I worked on Saturday nights behind the bar but I think it was '96. My brother, Allan, was the Assistant Manager there, we'd both worked for Boss Al & Alwyn at the Ship Inn at Sandside prior to them working at Wainies. Great pub, had so many laughs and crazy parties there, especially with all the staff from Langdales (mostly Aussies, Kiwis and South Africans, as I'm sure you know). When I lost my full time job in Kendal, Boss Al offered me a full time job at Wainwrights and I was really tempted, one reason being the ridiculous amount of mountain biking literally on the doorstep. I got offered a job at IBM in London though, and it kind of seemed wise to take that one 😂

Are you lucky enough to still live in the area? I truly wiI did but Chester’s not bad and my family are still in Cumbria (near Arnside) so I do get to visit pretty often.

These are the home trails mate, in the area I grew up in and still consider home. I'm probably more comfortable riding wet rocks than I am hard packed dirt and yes, I am aware how silly that sounds 😂

Oh I wish 😂 On the full run from the big descent (which will be a separate video in a few weeks), I almost crashed from doing a lens wipe when I couldn't get my hand back on the bars. Scary 😂

@@craigryder4123 Great bumping into you mate, and really glad you enjoyed the loop as it's a cracking one. That descent we met you at the top of is something else, isn't it? Bit overgrown at the moment but still so damned good 👍

Can you just do a really crap video so I can say something different 😂 looks a brilliant route that, thought I recognised some of it from yours and Marc's earlier collab... Then you mentioned it.
