lol I thought the opposite. No wheels makes this stuff so easy and less scary to land. I remember the insane shit I could do the first winter I got a snowskate after being a skateboarder for so many years.

@@arseeater3008 No, these snowskate boards aren't water logged. They're designed for this. Also have proper grooves / skids basically underneath to allow the board to move through the snow properly. This is _nothing_ like a regular skateboard without trucks in snow, which would glide sideways within seconds and make this type of snow skating nearly impossible. And yes, I'd say it isn't as hard as it looks.

WTF? When did this happen? I was dreaming of seeing people ripping like this 15 years ago when I bought a crappy 1st gen World Industries snowskate. You couldn't even turn the damn thing and now people are doing kickflip lipslides on snowskates down handrails? Fricking awesome!!!!

For real? I remember the first year getting mine 15 years ago and easily flipping 3 flips. We setup a rail and little hill in the backyard and was doing stuff I couldn't dream of doing on a skateboard because of how easy it was. I'm so confused by these comments it was way easier on a snowskate.

@@joeschmoe6492 I can't remember which snowskate I had, but it was made of wood. I was able to do way more on a snowskate than a skateboard. However, I was able to kick flip and heel flip almost every time after learning on a snowskate.

just to think of the Premier snowskates i used to ride back in 1999. It's come a long way since then.

As a skateboarder, this is entertaining as fuck! Honestly, I only watched this because I recognized Engerer's name from Pyramid Country, but I'm real glad I sat through and watched this whole video! Big props to whoever filmed and edited this, fucking A+! It's my first time ever seeing snow skaters and its amusing to see some roots of skateboarding in their tricks, maybe that's why I enjoy it so much. Too bad it doesn't snow where I live in Calfornia, or else I'll be hucking it like these dudes! Rad skating, rad video.

In the winter of 1984, I took the wheels off my Seaflex boomcat and used it as a "snowboard". I had just seen a Burton video and was amazed with it. So I built a little snow park in my yard with berms and humps for turns speed. I basically tried to do everything I knew from skateboarding in the snow. Going downstairs hopping on the picnic tables and stuff like that. I built a Snow part before they were even invented... LOL. I never thought that I would see this sport progress into something so insane. Like these dudes are definitely sick in the skill level to pull this stuff off is insane. Definitely one cool fucking video guys!!!!

I'll be buying my first snowskate this winter. It was always a childhood dream but I lived in Tennessee and we didn't get enough snow for that. Much love from WV.

this is pretty legit. funny, i remember when I was a kid and didn't have a snowboard I took the trucks and wheels off my skateboard one year and slid around the place pretending I was snowboarding. Was fun, and worked good. Glad to see their making real gear and taking it to the next level.

This is crazy. You guys have opened up a whole new world of snow skating! I need to get one asap!

I bought a snowskate in 2004 a premier safari. I could do basic trick nothing like what I can do on a skateboard. Fast forward till today, I forgot all about this snowskating thing, and I'm blown away at the level of trick these guys are at. Remembering how hard it was for me to pop and just carve around with stability on these things makes me so stoked on this video.

Maybe this is the end of classic snowboarding! no fucking traps,just pure technic!!

Shall Not Be Infringed global warming is very real and it’s been proving that our emissions are negatively impacting the environment. It’s just not going to cause the apocalypse in a decade like some like to say. To deny global warming completely is to deny science

+Ambition Snowskates i bought the gerlach board today. i'm guessing you pretty much need the xtreme grip pack.. i can barely do anything on this board, like barely ollie even, i feel your set ups should just come with the grip pack, cuz now i gota order it , the local shop didnt' have it

This video just blew my mind on so many levels. Firstly, holy shit what a simple but genius invention. Secondly, east coast and northern skaters have an alternative I didn't know of to snowboarding and schlepping to a mountain or indoor skate spot. (Or waiting for spring). With this you can go out and session just like street skating. Believe me I understand the learning curve but just bombing a park hill and carving and ollies sliding on snow are worth the price alone.
