Ambient Drones in Ableton Live

Музыка

In this video we’re going to use an arpeggiator, some reverb, and LFO modulation to create a soundscape that's both rich and constantly evolving.

Love using random LFO's but wish they were seed based so once you'd tweaked them you could guarantee their repeatability. As it is I find I have to bake them down and then slice them up to ensure filter sweeps etc happen where I want them. Or I'll midi map them to an external controller and ride it multiple times.. It would be nice to be able to record the output of LFO's directly into automation lanes....

Very cool video, thanks. I have one question though at 5:35 : what is the purpose of the Pro-R2 "grouping" ? I mean if you just put it on 100% wet, is that not the same as what you did with the chain and setting the level of "Chain" to -inf ? I mean it's still 100% wet, no ?

It creates a parallel signal which allows you to have access to a pure "dry" signal if you want to use it. I prefer it to having a "mix" control, but your own mileage may vary.

Nice one Chris! I had missed commenting on this one, but I really like this approach way better than using something like Paulstretch for example (although that's cool too! , as the resulting drone has so much more life to it. 🔥

Great tutorial man. Omri Cohen is the man and I love his new channel *The Bitwig Mycelium*. Lately I have been using a lot Bitwig the Grid to make everything. I have a bunch of plugins but I think almost all things can be done inside the grid. Hive is amazing, one of my goto synths.

Hi there! I use the "Utility" template for Ableton Live. You can learn all about it in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dn6l1pmJhJq1Y7A.htmlsi=IPVn64804UhGuUrr

@@s1gns0fl1fe Ok cool, I use a similar template, I was just wondering about the EQ with the high and lowcuts and the 3 predefined cuts. I mean if it works, it works :) That's something I have not thought of. I use ARC3 in conjunction with an EQ and with said EQ I also pull out some frequencies that my ears are more sensitive to :)
