    • Why do ghouls suddenly need a drug to remain sane and not turning feral? And another one that just flat out turns you into one instantly? That's not how it works in ANY other interpretation. People either die of radiation poisoning or become ghouls and the amount of radiation is extremely variable so there's not a sure way to become a ghoul. Also a ghoul becomes feral if they don't have enough mental strength. • Why House didn't know when the bombs would drop when he was in the planning meeting? His whole predicament was that he was off for one day and he didn't got the Platinum Chip to upgrade his software and save all Las Vegas. What happened then?

Because for all ghouls it's only a matter of time before they turned feral, it's inevitable no matter how much you try to hold onto your sanity, and they've apparently found a reliable way to stave it off. No big deal. Because the meeting wasn't even about planning the date of the bombs being dropped in the first place, and even if it was, they were clearly dropped earlier than scheduled because there's no way Barb would allow Janey to be out at some kid's birthday party when Vault-Tec are gonna drop the bombs. Not to mention that nearly ALL of the representatives of the competitor companies also got caught off guard by the impacts, because again it clearly did not go as planned.

The answer for House is simple... They were not allowed to say bad things about China. So if you can't say bad things about them and need a villain in the past you pick Vault Tech and the greed of making money and why we should all be communist instead. After all they really tried to make the New Communist Raiders sympathetic. So the evil greedy rich business thought that Nuking the world and turning themselves into lowly common citizens living in a vault as a much better idea... Because that is what every evil business that ends the world does in Hollywood.... Rather than do what Mr House tried to do... Which was to corner the market after the apocalypse. The literal thing they claimed to do when they decided to nuke themselves... And then decide to free themselves and live in a vault missing everything that modern society had to offer like not needing to care about other people and having more money than everyone else. And not do what Mr House did by grabbing a vast stretch of land, arming it with Anti-Nuclear defenses... And then ruling it rather successfully as you were the only person with a slice of the old world while everyone else was shifting through the ashes struggling to survive and unable to overthrow you and your robot army. In short... Blame Hollywood.

Heck the reason the jetpack is so high on the back is that way as it creates self stabilisation during flight.

One more thing. To be FAIR to Maximus...he's WAY nicer to HIS squire than HIS knight was to him. He saves Thaddeus's life when he could just have sacrificed him, when Thaddeus asks to become a full on, branded Brotherhood member, he does it for him, and he willingly shares his big secret about being Maximus and not Titus because he wants to treat him better than HE was treated. So he does TRY to do the right thing. He even stalls for time to let BOTH Thaddeus, who left him for dead later AND Lucy, to escape from the Brotherhood when he doesn't have to.

He tries to kill Thaddeus the second Thaddeus shows apprehension after he HORRIBLY tried to explain his predicament. Like, I dont think there was a worse thing you could have said in that situation then "Titus is dead, lets get our story straight", blatantly insinuating that Maximus had a hand in Titus' death. And After Thaddeus' understandable shocked response, Maximus immediatly decides the best course of action is to kill thaddeus! That is NOT a sign of someone trying to make the right choice, or someone trying to be better then a person who had treated them shittely, thats a sign of someone with serious psychological issues. Now, if the show had not treated Maximus like some kind of a Hero despite his actions, and instead perhaps embraced his psychopathic tendencies to make him a morally grey, or even downright villianous protagonist, I wouldnt be complaining. But they didnt do that. They played it off like Maximus is a hero, like I said, despite his actions. Which, to me, is a sign of incompetent writing.

One thing abiut Shady Sands you didnt mention is how it was moved HUNDREDS OF MILES SOUTH OF WHERE IT SHOULD BE. In Fallout 1 and 2 it is east and a little bit south of San Francisco, sandwiched between Vaults 13 and 15. In the show it's right next to LA. LA is where the Boneyard is. NCR's biggest city. They have industry and banks and a college and way more people than Shady Sands. The show makes no mention of the Boneyard and instead decides to put Shady Sands right next to the LA ruins because its a more recognizable name than the Boneyard. Suddenly there are 4 vaults in LA that The Master, the big bad of Fallout 1, should have found considering they were right next to him in Santa Monica pier and downtown LA. The Master's base of operations is a Cathedral in LA. How the hell did he never find these Vaults? Theyre not even well hidden. The entrances are just there in the open.

The thing is, The Master failing to find the Vaults the show introduces around LA wouldn't have to be a lore breaking absurdity if only their entrances were hidden properly. Grey's Super Mutants only had a handful of marginally intelligent operatives, and they didn't have access to a database of Vault locations or anything like that. Their parties would only be able to find vaults that are plainly visible without thorough investigation That being said, in the original release version there was a hidden 500 day limit for Vault 13's discovery and destruction by the Super Mutants, so even a cave far to the north would have been found eventually. All the writers had to do was hide Vault 4 and the others entrances in some kind of way that The Master couldn't find. Something like a false wall in a forgotten basement, that kind of thing. It'd just take a bit of script doctoring to fix, but they didn't.

There were so many things that bothered me in just the first 2 episodes. Lucy using her Pipboy to see the raider was HEAVILY irradiated when they when a dozen people with Pipboys were sitting next to the raiders just before that. Her knowing what a raider is, despite knowing nothing about the surface and the vault not knowing if the surface is even livable. The way the nukes exploded, the way they plastered old-timey songs over EVERYTHING like Fallout didn't have a million serious songs, and don't even get me started on that turret scene. The comedy was just too much and too often. This kind of ties into the song thing, too. It was like watching a Marvel movie that wouldn't dare be serious for more than a minute. And the comedy could be really bad. All of his friends and family getting slaughtered before his eyes..."Get that jelly mold out of here!" So yeah, I gave up 2 episodes in. My three big lore critiques for the show are the characterization for Mr. House being so off, as shitty as he could be, he was an optimist who worked hard to save humanity, and his implied to be a large reason the west coast was intact as it was. The notion of him bombing humanity to increase his market share is nonsesnical. That leads into my second issue. The idea that a business would bomb their consumers to increase their market share makes no sense. It's not super well known, but one of the original creators for fallout accidentally revealed that China dropped the bombs after finding out the US was developing biological weapons, after having felt pushed into a corner. (Later games also imply it was aliens. I have to assume they changed it because Bethesda wanted to not be blacklisted from China.) The third, smaller, but bizzare issue, is that the show expects you to believe 3 vaults, in the Boneyard survived being swept over by the masters forces in ground zero of the conflict for fallout 1. Otherwise, theres some minor weirdness, but not enough of the fun wackiness native to the series. Otherwise, the moment to moment stuff is pretty darn good. Oh yeah. Also, the armor isn't welded. It's interlocked plates to cover said welds. :/

Well, House always viewed prewar though a odd lens. He wanted to bring back prewar humanity, but openly views prewar government as a failure, and was disdainful of everyone but himself. I can see him sitting in on a meeting to end the world, if only to stack the cards in his favor more. As for the Master, it was on the beachside and we don’t know exactly where 31-33 are, but you make a great point regardless. If he knew where the ‘Buds Buds’ were he’d definitely hit there, or try and find it, if only to stop their interference. Even if he didn’t know a triple vault would be a big target.

The fact that the vault tec meeting resembles a company (or companies) thinking that changing their product or franchise that harms it's integrity (nuking the entire country it's in, not directly on to them but around them that they'll take a hit) then attacking the customer base over this (killing millions of them) is a good business practice, just to show how that predicably backfired horribly seems a little close to home given how Amazon track record with lord of the rings and their rumoured influence in the 40k controversy happening. Its also especially stupid in the show as there's no potential larger customer base to appeal to when you nuke the old one, you got total share of the market, good, but who's going to buy form you and with what? The one who fired the first shot was meant to be unkown as the setting of fallout was that it was irrelevant, What's important is what happens after that. Also the aliens thing was from a cut audio log mothership zeta, that was deliberately cut as making it alens absolved all parties for the war, a mistake that the show walked itself into. Also considering the time of the show being after new Vegas and 4 shouldn't the vault dwelllers live outside of the vault now as they have fulfilled their purpose? The surface is "safe" to live on (youre not going to die of radiation sickness on the surface) so especially the "breeding" vault should have proken out the geck and built settlement around it to take advantage of the extra speace on the surface. The only vaults that dont have a town or city around them should be either failed vaults (all occupants died before they were able to be opened), those who have been abandoned for one reason or another or vaults which aren't ready or never meant to be opened as intended (101,111,112 and the show's case 31). There shouldn't of been a reason why 32's residents just move over to 33 ans either came inside or built around it. They definitely should of had a lot more contact by now or at least be very challenging to the overseer about it.

The Company’s have always been shown to be anti-consumer in game, them sitting in a circle deciding the end of the world is just expected if they think the end is inevitable. We still don’t really know who dropped the bombs, just who Ghoul thinks did (but certainly helped). As for the staying in the vaults and Vault 31 it was systematic brainwashing over two centuries. From house having amnesia (He predicted the bombs dropping and missed by a week but apparently he also knew exactly when they’d drop since he was with the people who orchestrated it… I didn’t know he was retarded) To the NCR being nuked for a nonsensical reason, which if you even think for two seconds makes no sense. If the NCR is a threat wouldn’t you also nuke; Lost Hills The Shi New Reno Almost every major NCR city Flagstaff New Vegas The Capitol Big M.T And who knows where else And keep in mind… we see what a *proper* nuke does with the Divide in New Vegas… so how come Shady is… pretty much just fallout 4… Wouldn’t you also nuke all of the above *earlier*… before they become major threats? Never mind the fact any of the above getting nuked would be known everywhere a fairly quickly (at most a year or two and pretty much the whole wasteland knows) so how come it’s not mentioned? The only exception is the Legion… who could have collapsed, but *again* it would be known… especially to the (former) NCR. Never mind all the other “small” things that make no sense… of which there are many I don’t know. It baffles me how Old World Blues for Hearts of Iron 4, is not only better written, but also makes more sense lore wise (I mean for fucks sake… they have a Ghoul king in Canada and… whatever the fuck Mexico is…)

The fact that the ghoul was not in a vault when his wife supposedly also knew exactly when they would drop is also strange, which is why I believe that, althought the meeting showed them THINKING about the bombing, It might have still not gone according to plan, always the possibility of chinese spies learning about it and pulling the trigger first. Unless we get an exact scene or statement of the scene where the trigger is pulled, I think that plot point is still valid. House in NV says he PREDICTED the bombs in 65 to a certain degree, so him being off by one week because the contents of that meeting leaking is not impossible. Why vault-tec doesnt nuke budding settlements could still be because they are unaware about stuff outside, we dont know if they are competent or have communicatins after all. Even in fallout 2, as we read the memoirs from vault 13 overseer, we can see that he still believes his superiors will find a replacement and he was still going through the experiment even when he certainly wasnt born before the bombs. Fact is, the plot point needs to be explored and explained more, you can find some leeway with pre-established lore though.

@@gustavo555tani The Chinese spy point would be cool... if it were to ever happen, unfortunately *real* china is too big a market to risk their ire, so it's irrelevant (sadly) And them *thinking* about it, and then actually nuking Shady Sands (but nowhere else... I mean unless they nuked the Divide... which they didn't...) implies enough. And I don't think he'd be off because of the contents of the meeting, his *algorithms* predicated it, if anything he'd have got the chip sooner on account of the fact he fed said algorithms information that indicated people wanted a war sooner. And Vault-Tek doesn't nuke budding settlements because shit/lazy writing, there is no way they weren't keeping tabs on anything, for close to 200 years, from the goings on in Appalachia, The Commonwealth, The Capital, Arizona, Nevada, California and so on, it makes *ZERO* sense an organization thats purpose is to *monitor* vaults, wouldn't also monitor the outside world, and neuter threats, the Institute at least sends out infiltrators (and logically had some way of acquiring information prior to synths, so if *they* could do it, why can't the giant mega corporation?) Keep in mind, even if they have a good reason for the above nonsense, it still doesn't explain the lack of news about the giant as fuck conqueror next door, The Legion. If they got glassed or collapsed, people would know and talk about it, the fact they don't speak of either, means either A) the writers didn't account for it (the only logical option) or B) It didn't get nuked or collapse, in which case, why aren't they in California, their primary target: In other words either answer is awful. The fact is, the viewer shouldn't have to "fill in (most) of the blanks"* the writers should, and they didn't, for whatever reason. And again, if a Hearts Of Iron 4 mod can be more consistent with the story and overall more interesting (from inter-brotherhood conflicts, to the battle for Mexico, Texas, etc), why can't the TV Show? *(All it would have taken was a few lines of dialogue explaining "oh yeah, this happened with the legion" and have people comment on it in passing, which *never* happened... and "conveniently" will happen next season, because they need to retroactively plug the hole... and IF (more like when) it does, no-one can deny the writers are god awful)

Just a cool thing to mention about the show is that there are direct references to "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". Like the whole thing with The Ghoul leading Lucy around the desert bound and not giving her water while taunting her with it. Then in the last episode when The Ghoul was getting info from the lead prospectors. That scene was play by play from that movie. In fact the show borrowed heavily from the western. I suggest to watch that film before watching the show.

The one thing about the destruction of Shady Sands is we do have a time frame given of when it happened, sort of. Lucy was a child taken there and her father destroyed it. (somehow, i guess overseers have massive nuke acess). While we don't have specifics of Lucy's age, we know the year is 2296 of the shows time, 15 years after new vegas of 2281 So being extremelt generous with Lucy's age at the time of the bombing and saying she was 5 when it happened, that means she can't be any older than the age of 20. So if the show ever confirms her age, we can know if the timing of the bombing fits

I don't hate the show but the moment the showrunners admitted they reset the West Coast because they didn't like that civilization was rebuilt. It did make me mad a little. Like why make a show in California if you don't like how the NCR built a nation in 200 years? The same goes for the Strip that was also destroyed for aesthetic. If you want to read the interview it's been published by Screen Rant and by a British Article company. The show creators legit just didn't like how things were rebuilt.

I think the reason flashbacks are used so much in shows and movies is because they prioritize showing the audience what's going on instead of telling them. In my script writing class in college my teacher was always asking jabbing questions to students about how they would SHOW how a character is feeling or what their story is. Sure, they could just tell the other characters what their backstory is, but that's not visual storytelling. Also, haven't seen the show yet, but how many of the main cast would actually be comfortable with sitting down and TELLING the other their backstory? I'd wager not many if any at all.

Still makes no sense to how that would cause the NCR to fracture into not being a nation though. You dont bomb DC and say the US is over. The one upside to the beurocracy of the NCR is that it would still tick over if the government is gone that before the news had gotten out, a provisional government would have already been set up. That's why killing Kimball has much less of an effect than killing Cesear.

Bit of a long comment but this still irks me. The power armor flaw makes no sense. They say it's a flaw in the weld, but the metal case of the T-60 model in the series doesn't have any welds. Secondly, the fact they changed the case means that for the flaw to carry over then it would have to be either in the servos or on the frame, in which case the flaw would not case the armor to be easely pierced. Also the fact the flaw is stated to be in the welds means it's probably a manufacturing problem not a design one. In which case they would have to go out of their way to keep the flaw in the new model which makes no sense. Basically the whole thing is completely nonsensical. Another fun fact, the military hates adopting new equipment because it's a logistical nightmare. This results in materials that were very well received getting rejected because refurbishing the armories and the manufacturing would be a hassle. Basically they're always looking for an excuse to reject any weapon or vehicles in these tests so they don't have to work. This means that if the problem with the T-45 was a design flaw then army would have caught the issue during the tests. They would have shot it with a tank sehll and marked it down if it suffered minimum damage. Thus by applying logic to the matter, I know the shows allergic to it but bear with me, by applying logic we can determine that the issue was a manufacturing one. The design was great, it tested well but when the time came for the manufacturing licenses to be sold the buyers of the licenses were unable to build them to spec resulting in the weld flaw. This actually happened during the 60s when the US army was testing the newfangled M14 assault rifles. They were perfect during the tests but when Springfield armory distributed the specs to the buyers of the manufacturing rights they were unable to operate to standards. So most rifles came out with serios issues. Not just one either, they had several different problems popping up. Springfield Armories had to makes several thousand rifles because the other companies were unable to keep up with demand or meet the standards. Mind you Springfield was not a factory they were a think tank. They designed guns and then sold the blueprints to other companies so they couldn't meet demand either but the rifles they made worked fine. Modern M14 also work just fine and have none of the issues from those days anymore. Why? Because those were production line issues and they didn't get replicated in other production lines. There's just no way the flaw would have gone unfixed for over 200 years. It most certainly would have been fixed by the time Cooper was out of the army, if not earlier.

ok to be honest i love the power armor helmet changes it makes the armor make more sense being a full suit, like the controls of the suit are in the helmet it dos not make sense to take it off and still be able to use the Armour plus if it was as easy as it was in fallout 4 to take off every piece it would make the Armour look cartoonish. also the suit wouldn't be able to protect you from radiation because its not air tight. that being said the power Armor arm thruster is stupid and i don't like a bit.

I see New Vegas as a bit bare because it was like a quick shot that it will be a setting in the next season they might not have fully figured out what to do with. @Lobsterwithinternet I have seen that the Vertibirds may be NCR, it is not only the BoS that have them. So it could be the case if not in NCR favour the NCR might have made another bid to take it after being decimated in LA. My current theory will be some level of a Yes Man ending. Whether it was actually an ending or not he might have taken over as a rogue AI, and left no real winner as House would have wanted. Still hope of at least maybe House created a digital replication of his mind that still exists somewhere.

    1) Because she's not a writer, she's an actress, and that's her interpretation of the relationship, that doesn't make it cannon. That's not how word of god goes. 2) Gee, it's almost like I was making this video/script and didn't have that information. 3) "They were roommates"... Da fuq are you on about? 1) That's not confirmation either. And even then, you're blatantly ignoring what I said in the video: " But this seems like a very shaky plan - especially when in the last episode, the feral Ghoul that’s with Moldaver is Rose - Lucy’s mother. " Or this "So, she was willing to risk her friend’s, or as some people like to say, her lover’s kids?" No where in the video did I deny that they could be together, that's you putting words in my mouth, and something I don't really care for. Point to me where I'm denying that possibility in this video, cause I'm not. 2) " sprang at me like i insulted your mother" So sarcasm is now 'springing' at you? No, it's not. Because it's not the 'going after intentions', its you blatantly putting words in my mouth that is the issue. Saying " Its odd hearing you pulling "they were roomates" When I did not even hint at that in the video. That's the issue, and something I made clear in my last comment.

My only problems can be the stuff that actually doesn't make sense within the show itself. How Vault 33 didn't know the Vault 32 visitors were Raiders. Why Maximus was still allowed to be a Knight. Why would Barb let their daughter go with Cooper the day she roughly knew when the bombs would drop? Stuff like how Ghouls work, who started the Great War, and the state of the NCR and Enclave aren't deal breakers for me because that's stuff that's vaguely explained and varied with each new title. Fallout isn't the creation of one person like LotR and Tolkien. It was always created by teams of people throughout the years adding their own interpretations. This isn't about saying lore doesn't matter, but that the lore was never as set in stone as people think it is.

As long as hollywood has terrible writers and only people who care about surface level lore/depth, then I dont think we'll EVER get a decent adaptation. Castlevania Season 1+2, Sonic 2, Detective Pikachu, and OG Mortal Kombat are as good as we'll ever get. And that sucks. Because what should be the easiest job in the world is made difficult because the people in charge want to do their own thing instead of just STICK TO THE SCRIPT. You want to make your own story? Fine. Then it better be AS GOOD OR BETTER than the source material youre cribbing from. But oftentimes it isnt. For me, I just wanted Fallout (NOT Todd Howard'd Version!!). A harsh but hopeful place where not everyone is garbage for sake of it. Weird things happen. Civilization exists and is slowly coming back, but always feels like its on the brink. And there are factions who genuinely want to help people because thats the only way they can move forward. But no. Heres discount American Mad Max. Heres "MuH CAPuhTiluSm!", the old hollywood chestnut. As well as "Everyone is garbage. Even the nice people.". Its like everyone in Hollywood thinks theyre Alan Moore or Frank Miller when I would be happier if they just stayed in their hole and NEVER COME OUT. Im honestly just so sick and tired of how bad writing is in general for TV/Movies that Im kind of glad i only watch KZread, old shows/movies, and certain anime and manga I like. Because Im just DONE with this. Im DONE with these crap characters. Im DONE with the SAME REGURGITATED PLOTLINES (seriously, what is up with Bethesda Quests and looking for family members?). I have NO HOPE for season 2 (these are the Westworld people after all), and am not interested in seeing New Vegas and more old Fallout lore trudged through the mud because Todd Howard and his people dont have anyone who can write interesting lore anymore. You know, I love Fallout ever since New Vegas, but I think the tagline to Fallout really is a lie. War HAS changed. Why it’s fought, where it’s fought, with what…even what counts as a war. We have trade wars. Console wars. Cold wars that don’t involve armed conflict at all. And even bloodless wars. So even then war as “armed conflict that gets people killed” isn’t true anymore now that there’s been wars in which even THAT definition isn’t true. War never changes? No. War is always changing. Even humanity’s desire for war, since war casualties used to skyrocket every decade, even every year sometimes, and now by comparison they’re way way down.
