The amazon STAR method is flawed beyond comprehension. It focuses too much on the STRUCTURE of the scenario/story telling and not focus on the outcome and overall the scenario itself. Interviews should always be based on experience and how a scenario was resolved. What the interviewee has to offer, their personality, and their capability. STAR is mumbo jumbo to judge your technical jargon and sentence/verbal structure. Just because they can answer in a fancy way does not mean they’re qualified for the job. Let their actions be the judge.

When you’re interviewing for a professional role, we is confusing. We doesn’t help us see if you can solve problems and lead on your own. It’s got to show proof from past actions that you’ll be successful.

bro, I've been using the STAR method probably before it was even a thing... I can BS and build you an engaging story from start to finish. I got an interview tomorrow, but I'm still concern, I'm more worry about questions regarding OSI since in that department, sure I've dabbled in it from time to time but never on a professional level, I get what it is and how it works but talking about it, I know I'll struggle.

To be honest, the example of migrating microservices from PCF to EC2/K8/Serverless seem pretty hypothetical and generalized. It just really depends on how detail the interviewer wants, and when you get detail enough there is always something you don't know, and to them they might think they just expose you...
