Hi nelle💐yet another well thought out video! A lot more people are turning to hearing amplifiers on Amazon whether it's because you live in America & have to pay for hearing aids or you suddenly lose your hearing in the UK & there is a wait to see an audiologist & a further wait to get the earmoulds made! But don't buy them for the sake of it as it will damage your hearing and you may never get it back,what I would buy off Amazon if I worked in a noisy workplace would be ear protectors! I wish I had them at work! Buying an over the counter hearing aid is like me borrowing nelle's glasses & expecting to see out of them! This next tip I have tried,with hearing aids in the UK taking longer to be repaired I decided to look at used hearing aids on eBay! I needed high powered ones for my loss or I had to fall back on my old fashioned body worn aids! I looked for ones that an older person could not get on with and only worn once & put in a drawer,that person died & the relatives listed the hearing aids on eBay,I bid up to a £100 for the pair & for a further £40 my local opticians who do work for the NHS programmed them for my loss! So I have phonak hearing aids for around £140 and the book price was over £2000! I also had someone sell me a job lot of phonak & other aids! So if anyone would like to give them a try for free just DM me! If it helps others to hear I will be happy! 💖💖

That sounds like a really good suggestion. I also know some charities provide loan hearing aids for people who might not be able to afford them.

Thank you for the informative video. I saw something that i had been looking for for quite sometime. The ear hooks has been discontinued in the US. It does appear that it is an item that Amazon UK cannot ship to the states but at least i have more information about the product so i can continue my search.

I hope you find them. I know a company called Connevans does the silhouette earhook things here as well, I wonder if there is a similar US based company that does them. I had a quick look online. Oh lord 😂. Audiologist are gonna lose so much money if this becomes a thing.. I plan to be an audiologist so this better not happen!!!!

I don't think amazon poses a real threat to the hearing aid industry. As great as it would be for people to be able to access high quality hearing aids for £30 on amazon, I think properly fitted hearing aids are going to be much better for pretty much everyone. Also I don't think audiologists are breaking into the 'mom of a cochlear implant warrior' pop socket niche just yet. Earplugs to protect people's hearing is definitely a good idea though. I'm sure audiologists everywhere would appreciate it if more people used the drying capsules, changed their tubes and cleaned their earmolds regularly though. Some people's hearing aids are pretty disgusting.
