Amazon Greenhouse One Year Later | How We Use Our Greenhouse From Amazon
Last year we upgraded our greenhouse from Amazon. The first one didnt hold up as well as it needed to. So how is this one holding up? How are we using it?

A greenhouse that size, you could put a mat down made of black thick carpet runner. I like TrafficMaster from Home Depot. Walk on it all you want, it's plenty tough
Beautiful
I like this, I am going to go with a Lean-to shape to fit on the south side of the Garage...a window into the Garage will be in the Greenhouse, which will provide an exchange of temp....I cannot wait, I am more worried the plastic will not last beyond two seasons! Time will tell...I am thinking of a Clear Deckwash to help the plastic, but that may make it turn opaque...I will do a test. I went with White rather than Green, not sure why! LOL

So far the plastic on ours has held up amazingly well.

@@artofcreationhomestead I was at Tru-Value Hardware, they have a UV Protector Spray in Clear...I am going to Treat this Chinese Bad-Boy! LOL Just in case!
Interesting , so for freezing temps I should still use a frost blankets in the greenhouse for protection, good to know !

I would say a frost blanket is a good idea.

@@artofcreationhomestead might get a little cold damage if it gets like in the low 20s but imma try it out this winter and see what happens . Hopefully we don’t get too much of a harsh winter here in NC 🤞🏻
If I am looking to buy/build a small 4 or 6 ft greenhouse, do you have any suggestions? Clear plastic.
hi Jason, enjoyed your video and since it's been a year I hope you'll be able to help me. I live in zone six so it's to soon to plant outside yet. I'll be able to plant outside around mid May. started my tomato and pepper plants inside using a heat mat and grow lights. they are doing very well and tomatoes are 6-8 in high after being transplanted in to deeper pots. my problem is that I don't have enough grow light space for all of them now and I want to start more plants. since they are established, can I move them outside in the portable greenhouse? I watch the weather very carefully and nights are usually in the upper 30s to 40s. if temp go down to 32 we'll bring them indoors. ty 🙂

Sounds like you're doing great. I think you've got a good plan. We've been in that situation the previous 2 years where the plants just did so well and grew so fast that we were having to take them out and bring them in. We're in southwest Ohio so I can certainly sympathize with not being able to plant yet and having unpredictable spring weather
It does look like it is holding up very well! I'd be afraid mice or a snake would get into mine. Lol. God bless!

I am a little surprised that there hasnt been a mouse get in it but its worked great thats for sure
. I just bought one similar to this and have no idea how to use it. What does the temperature need to be outside to keep plants in this and at what nighttime low should I bring plants indoors? I am currently starting seeds indoors under lights and was going to use this to transition my seedlings to outdoors, but I am wondering if there are any hardy plants that I could start in this mini greenhouse. Also what should the temperature inside be, when shoud I open the flap? Mine will be setting on a southern side of my home against a brick wall.

Plants can stay inside that greenhouse at any overnight low above 32. From what we've experienced with it, once it gets below that you run the risk of the moisture from the humidity freezing on leaves and the moisture inside the leaves freezing. Both scenarios do not end well. If your overnight lows are getting below freezing then I wouldnt try to start any seeds in the greenhouse. As for temperature inside the greenhouse, we've never had a thermometer inside it but if you were starting seeds you could let it get as hot as you wanted before they germinate, but for plants transitioning, on a warm sunny day leave the door and the flaps open....especially since you are facing south. If its not sunny then maybe leave the door shut but keep a flap open as long as its not too cool.
I wonder if stacking Bale's of hay around the green house would help keep plants alive through winter

would it seal up well enough for growing in the winter with a heater?

That is very possible. I have never tried it.

What do you do for ventilation in the hot summer
@artofcreationhomestead

We open the windows and the door and usually cover the door with bug netting so bugs and things can't get in.

Yes we took them out and planted them in the ground in the summer
What purpose for getting one would be to protect my trees From cold that sounds like the greenhouse doesn’t do that

No this greenhouse is best used for early season seed starting and would work well for protection from light frost late in the year

All greenhouses are the same. You gotta put a heater inside on freezing nights. They only heat during sunshine. Even if you spend 8,000 dollars they freeze at night.
Thanks for the info. Was wondering how you attached it to the ground?
@artofcreationhomestead

We just used the basic anchors that come with the greenhouse. There are better ways to secure these greenhouses though
