Congratulations! I actually prefer the HD10 over my Samsung tablet and I find it more handy than a laptop. It's easy to bypass the Amazon layout and get a more of a traditional Android experience and Google functions. There is a lot of potential with these devices depending on how far you wanna go down that rabbit hole of rooting (which is fairly simple on these) and whatnot.

@@hegamer4372 You can also use the automated Amazon Fire Tool from XDA Developers (I can only vouch for version 5.0) if you are on Windows: forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/development/official-amazon-fire-toolbox-v1-0-t3889604 Enable USB debugging on your Fire (covered in the How To Geek guide), plug the USB into your PC, run the app and a screen will ask you what you would like to do. Install Google Services before you remove or disable any Amazon ones.

In watching this on the HD 10 right now, just unboxed it today! I would highly recommend it, I upgraded from the 7, which is also a great device, a nice small 7in. Screen on the 7, and a 10.1 in. Screen on the HD 10!

Hey bro, great vid. I want to get the HD 8 for work (for PowerPoints, etc) on boxing day, how much do you think it will be in the UK?

My current kindle fire HD 6 (2014) has a 720P screen with 258 ppi. I'm trying to see how the newer fire tablets compare in terms of display quality. I have 0 complaints about my display, but it does have some bugs and could be a bit larger. any thoughts?

Just looking to see what you think of these tablets as I have two kindles and I would like another one for myself, and plus one for my friend that lives in Kampala Uganda East Africa as he lost his desktop. While he was at church someone broke into his room and took his computer. Now he has to walk to the library 5 miles one way and back. So I am getting him a Kindle 7 as I am only on a fixed income and I can't anything too but a 7" as I want one too! Thanks for telling me about the kindles as it really helps.

I have the fire 10. Twice I have had charged port issues. I also bought a fire 7 as a Xmas gift and we had to send this back because of software issues. I got a fire 7 for myself because of the size and ease in taking it on trips. Less than two months and it now has software issues. I am very upset with these product.. You failed to mention that one of the most important features for both the Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 10 is the "Show Mode". With Show Mode on your 7th Generation Fire HD 8 or Fire HD 10 tablet or 8th Generation Fire HD 8 tablet, Alexa voice responses are enhanced with full screen visuals.

Nice review, just want you to know you can access google play store with a couple of simple downloads! Less than 10minutes to have access to vast andriod library! Now all apps working on a FIRE 7 may not be guaranteed but it is a swell unit for 60cad

Can files be moved or copied from a micro SD card to the internal storage on the Fire HD 8 tablet? I’m taking my digital camera on an upcoming trip and just ordered the Fire HD 8 to leave in my hotel room so I can transfer any photos I’ve taken at the end of each day to it, just in case my camera gets lost or stolen. In the past I’ve taken my laptop solely for this purpose and now want something lighter and smaller. I know the Fire 8 has a microSD slot but I haven’t read anything about using it to upload to rather than download from the Fire tablet. If you know whether or not this is possible, I’d appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

Important Fire HD 10 is based on an old 2014-2015 Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Fire HD 8 is based on a newer 2017 Android 7.1.2 Nougat. Eventually some apps will require minimum Android 6, so with Android 7.1 we are good for a few more years...

Yes you can, when you set it up it will give you an option to make a child's profile.

The storage is not the storage available to use as it includes any storage needed for the operating system . Not sure why 16,32gb tablets are still being sold as never enough gb for storing .

My fire hd 10 has a different charging port and his way more sd storage than showing in this video. Also you can install just about any 3rd party app and Google play store

Very underrated tablets-all are very good values and much better than last year's models. The most recent HD10 is,I think,the best tablet Amazon has ever made. It is perfect for surfing the web and watching videos and you could often get it on sale for $100 which is just a sensational deal...

I'm getting the Fire HD 10 in color - white

My trusty 2017 7 is getting tired. It's still solid, but it is struggling to run anything. I have cards and points saved up. I love the specs on the 10, but i'm hesitant to pull the trigger on something that big. I have an old Google Pixel C through my work, and I find unless I'm watching a video, I tend to reach for the Fire just because of the size.

Are these 4G Connection Capable with Mobile Networks? I would like to use in my car. Sim cards?

No, These are Wi-Fi Only models, but you can find 2013 tablets on AT&T, and Verizon.

Fire7 tablet $49 me watching on $399 iPad mini 5 I bought last year. Yeah fire tablet for $50 seems like a good deal. But I got a iPad so kinda pointless. Was thinking of buying a fire tablet for my dad though.

Do you recommend that I get the HD 10 OR HD8 I need it for regular web browsing, read pdf files and maybe kindle books and watch videos. $100 for the HD10 or the HD8 for $50??? prime day prices.

If you're doing more casual web browsing and light reading, the HD 8 is fine. If you think you'll be installing a number of apps, playing games or need it for work/school, the HD 10 is a much better choice.

You cannot compare this with a I pad . I like the Apple system . You don’t need to add a anti virus thing . Not sure why the fire 10 has limited expandable memory you can add on. Why is the 7,8 get bigger expandable memory ?

As of now. The Amazon Appstore now has MS office apps!

Every time they bring a New 7 or 8 out, I get one for my mum, who says ‘oh no not p device to learn’.... but then you click the ‘do you want to being over the settings and apps from Your last fire over?’ And it works a treat every single time. I personally have the HD 10. Mainly for books and comics... and honestly..... wouldn’t buy anything else. I briefly had a Samsung that came free with a phone... and v soon went back to the Amzon eco system.... guess I’m just a slave to it, becuse it I just so damned EASY!

I have the amazon fire 7 2017 version with 8 gb storage i put a 32gb sd card in it and sideloaded play store on it and a bunch of other apps Edit: sold that tablet now gonna buy the amazon fire hd8 because I've realised its alot better. 👍

The current Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 8 (9th and 10th generations) have USB-C. The 11th gen Fire HD 10 also has a USB-C port.

10 is the best OBVIOUSLY....better screen , better speakers, and most importantly has a way faster processor! But the 8 is def the best "deal" ....the 10 goes on sale for 129 all the time though! but another thing ot keep in mind is the 10" is alot more heavy and bulky than the 8" so depending on how old the kid is playing with it, it could be a little big in small hands! ....so to answer your question, 8 is the best deal, 10 is the best quality

Great tablets only one problem is that their AMAZON . I back fed my with regular Android.

I prefer my 7 to my 8 and my mothers 10. The 7 is larger in size to the 8 and the 7 is lighter in weight. The 8 does have far better graphics
