Well, you did a super job…been waiting for this. My concern is wear, feel, and color. Since my king bed is on risers, I need an extra long bed skirt (tailored) I want a trailered quilt that doesn’t wrinkle. I also need king pillow shams along with those euro shams because I have those as well. I like the sets that include two small decorative coordinate throw pillows. I have a print with large squares of butterflies and birds (rust, brown, ecru, and aqua) Ordered my complete set from a catalog called 7th Avenue for $158.00 on sale. I use a smaller comforter underneath the quilt to give it a puffier look! I know my description sounds tacky, but it really has a rich deep look. (I raise butterflies🥰) I love all the bedding your sister and daughters purchased, and hope those items hold up well.

I'm drawn to "prints" instead of "solids" when I choose bedding. I think it's because it offers a little more "variety" so I can enjoy it for a longer period of time before I want to "change it out" and get something different.

Wow, you did amazing, when I change my bedding i have to stop half way through to have a break LOL. We don't have that kind of quilt in England, we have duvets which are much more puffier, then we have a duvet cover (like a huge pillow case) that the duvets go in, I've had many comment from Americans saying we must be dirty by not having a sheet between us and the 'quilt' but the duvet cover is our sheet and it is changed weekly and a clean set put on, what you are using there is a quilt which we would use for decoration, just to make the bed look pretty x x

I don't like to bother with dust ruffles/bedskirts, so I buy a king size comforter for my queen mattress. That way it's long enough to cover the frame underneath. I also prefer bedding that's not too pouffy, because I need to be able to stuff it into my washing machine to avoid exhorbitant washing cost at the cleaners. I love that you can change the whole look of a room, or reflect the seasons, just by changing your bedding 🙂

King-size beds.... I've got a beef against the sizing of most king-size sheets and bedspreads. After 28 years of sharing a bed with a hubby who likes to roll like a burrito in his sheets, I finally found that California King is the only way I'll ever wake up with a sheet on me.

  • @d.d.mac.3773

I have reached a point in my life where my sheet selection is not only based on comfort, but the pattern. The pattern HAS to have a correct side up that is easily distinguishable i.e. flowers, stripes, animals or I really don't care. The reason is that I can do without the frustration of trying to figure out which corner goes where. I know some sheets have it marked in the corner, but I don't want to even bother looking for that. The absolute height of laziness, I know, but making the bed is so much quicker now and I can smile through it. I thoroughly enjoyed your video, Leslie and your smiling, positive demeanour. You are wonderful.

What I look for first in bedding is material. I am a fan of 100% cotton. We don’t have a set color scheme in the bedroom, so when I feel like a change, I enjoy perusing whatever comes up randomly on Amazon, take screenshots of what I like, and then narrow down the choices. It’s exhausting but fun to change things up a bit ☺️

I guess I start with colors and size. Then I look for coverlets or something light in weight. I don’t use my comforter either for sleeping and I do a designer bed with layers. I look for something that will cover the sides of the bed so I measure. I hate to pull it longer on one side that everyone sees and then it’s short on the other side. Affordability comes in to play. I am not spending 100’s of dollars on bedding. I think good quality does not have to be high priced. I read reviews and make sure I can wash it because I have messy fur babies. Lol. Shew that was a lot I didn’t realize that I would take in to account.

I go for style and color first then if its lien or cotton or cotton blend. I only buy quilts not a fan of a bedspread. Just my choice. I have 2 homes so in the winter I am in Florida so I want something lite weight. I do take them off at night as we have a thin blanket on the bed also. In the summer we are in Pennsylvania so I still like quilts for my bedding. Still I go for color and style always. I love blue so that's what I normally pick and most of them are light blue and white small print nothing to busy. I have 5 bedrooms total in the 2 homes so I always pick something better quality because i don't want to buy new each year. We are building a new home in Florida at this time so I will be buying new ones for that home. That is only because we sold are other home in April the buyers wanted to buy all are furniture and bedding so I agreed to sale it to them so I didn't have to put it in storage. It will be fun and nice to have something new.for this new home. This is the second new built home in 3 year's. I told my husband we are not doing this again this is are last home. My parents (father) built homes him self so I have moved my parents 31 times so I am really sick of packing. Most of the times it's only been personal belongings as most people see your furniture and ask to purchase it also.

I like 100% cotton duvet covers, which I pair with a good quality insert from Garnet Hill or Pottery Barn, etc. I sew ties to both the inside of cover and ties to the insert to avoid shifting. One very important thing can be buying high quality super expensive duvet covers pre-owned because they can easily be washed. Also, it allows you to change things up without having to wash a big comforter!

As always love your videos and love hearing your voice. Hugs and prayers to you and Jason.

Great video Leslie. I love to go by color/style/price and something more Mediterranean. Warm colors and deep rich colors, lofty to complete the whole mood of the room when you walk into it. I too roll back the billowy top as it would be too hot to sleep with it but mostly I want to keep it fresh without skin oils getting on it. My top spread also has tassels on the ends.....very european looking. I use them for years and they look like new. Lots of matching pillows and some I have added. My hubby doesn't appreciate those but he doesn't deal with them. ;-) Sheets and pillow cases are a whole other deal.....I match colorings and usually buy two sets alike and material, washability, softness, wrinkles and thread count. I love what the others chose and can imagine what their styles are. This was so fun! Since our bed is a place of rest and calm and peace I always like it inviting, warm, lovely to the eye and like my favorite place to go and just be in wonderland. I am also a stickler to buy things on sale, on clearance and will wait and watch for it to be the best price. It's kind of like playing Name That Tune only with $.........everything goes on sale at some point and I am a patient person. LOL LOL More info than you need I am sure but this was fun! Blessings and prayers always!

For the sheets I went with a crisp, percale to give a nice "hotel" feel. For the second room I'm searching for a quilt, blanket, pillows, and sheets in a pale gray/green color and cream. The timing of this video is great since I have just started to look for new bedding again. I am looking for a king comforter with pillow shams and a decent pleated bed skirt. I have tried searching in the past and have given up because there is never a colour that appeals to me and the bed skirts are usually really cheap looking. My current set didn't come with a bed skirt but I found two drapery panels that matched perfectly and made my own. It was a big job though and I don't feel like doing it again. I noticed too that so many sets are made of microfiber and that always reminds me of my cleaning cloths. I don't change my look very often but it really is time so I will keep plugging away with your tips in mind.

I’ve only purchased bedding on line once and I ended up returning it. I’m someone who needs to touch it, feel how soft it is and we’ll made it is and feel the weight. My Mother was an excellent seamstress, she always stressed fabric content and quality.

Sorry to write here about your other channel comments are off PLEASE IGNORE THOSE PEOPLE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT WE ARE GOING THROUGH WITH THIS DISEASE(dementia) I have learned I shall not judge those and I don’t allow them to effect me on their thoughts( judgements) It took me some time to not let it hurt me( family not understanding and it isn’t easy to explain what one is going through for someone else to truely understand without being in that persons shoes). You have brought me so much calmness knowing it’s ok to feel what I feel and knowing someone else young is going through this and making the best of it because we love our spouse and we want to make their life as good as it can be during this time. we choose to take care of them and it is not easy yet it is love. Please ignore those who do not know. I pray they hear your words that they have caused hurt and stop Blessings my friend to you and your family

I need great looks, needs to feel awesome, and the price point must be under 175 as a rule. I am abscessed with good sheets, and they need to be cotton. No microfiber sheets.

Material is super important. Obviously I want it to look good. I look at reviews if I can't see in person.

Could you show what bedding you put under your comforter? I like the look of a quilt or coverlet but I like the heaviness of a traditional comforter. I wonder if your trick would work for me.

I don't like a lot of the new bedding fabrics that are thin, silky and scratchy. For me I want a durable fabric for bedding.

I'm not in the patterns. I'd rather have one color than I can switch pillows and get different looks throughout the years or seasons

I appreciated this video, I've been stalking a quilt set online for about 8 months and haven't pulled the trigger. Do you think the full/queen size is a big NO when you are purchasing for a Queen? I wish they didn't size that way!

Bedding, towels, clothes, I only buy 100% flax linen. It is a hassle though, since it must be line-dried. For winter, 100% cotton that can go in the dryer. Would not recommend linen for a family---too much work. Loved your video.

Anything that says MICROFIBER is a big fat no for me. It's soooo uncomfortable if you have dry feet! BLAH! 😅
