The only problem with Publisher Rocket is it's just so expensive to purchase...Is there anything that does the same kind of work for either Free or a lot less money, at least below $20 dollars.

Given the fact that Rocket updates constantly and they never charge you for any of that I think the price they charge is incredibly low. The data they collect is invaluable. You can get some of the data by spending hours on Amazon instead.

I attempted Amazon Ads last year and got only 1% return, but a lot of data. I'm working on my strategy to try again in early 2020 so way to read my mind and anticipate my needs, Julie. Great video, as always.

@@user-sw2lv3zp6o, my Amazon ads have picked up and while I'm not spending a lot on them (still sifting keywords like I'm walking blindfolded into a minefield because that's my nature), I am seeing at least a 100% return. I have one writer friend, however, who gets a 400% return and that's my goal.

Excellent timing as I am just starting to learn about Amazon Ads.

Hello Julie, going through a few of your suggestions & videos. Thanks for the advice. I've had my fantasy book out for a little while, but I know it is one of the toughest markets to try to get into. Also, thanks for the suggestion about the ads, and not just going out and paying for them, but finding a way to get reviews on the work before that. I'll keep watch and probably try to set ads in if I can get reviewers.

Great informational video. I searched for amazon ads for authors and you came right up 🤗

I am using Facebook advertising to help sell my books. I currently use a link to my website. My concern is that they may not click the link to Amazon or that it may be too many steps. Should I be using a link directly to Amazon in my Facebook ads? Please advise.

Julie I believe this is absolutely one of your best videos. These tips were very informative and insightful for those of us who’ve never sold anything on the Internet. But understanding and learning about the Amazon world is crucial. I am so glad the Book Launchers team will be marketing my book in about eight months.

I’ve run Instagram ads and found it to be a lot more effective than Facebook. It definitely makes sense to run ads after you have had success! Great video!

I decided to go with Redemption Press mainly because of her ties with Christian community and opportunities to speak. @@BookLaunchers I also forgot to mention I’m recording audiobooks for both of my books. My publisher doesn’t offer this service. My husband bought me a microphone and will edit for me. Another friend will help me get them on Amazon. Since I write to my daughter in heaven in my books it is fitting that it is me doing this.

We are a non-fiction book services company so we might be able to help. But generally, if we're not the right fit for someone I do recommend Reedsy as they have a great list of editors to hire.

This was very helpful for 2+ decade author who is very intimidated by KDP advertising...thank you.

You can do them ... we do find they perform better once you have at least 25 reviews but you can start now.

Maybe ... to be honest, I haven't tested it myself. I will get our Ad person to ask around in some forums to get some feedback. We do know that reviews (or not having reviews) really will impact performance of the ad so based on that, you might find that a challenge in per-launch. But, then again, when a buyer sees it's in prelaunch they may be ok with no reviews? In that case, a great description and cover would be essential.

@@BookLaunchers For info, I've just tried putting an amazon ad up this week while my book is in preorder (7 days before launch) - Ive had a few preorders (single figures) but not many. I'm also pushing a book trailer on social media though, so the presales could be down to that. Overall I don't think the prerelease Amazon Ad has been worth it - Im going to give them another shot once the book is released.

@@martinwhite4793 I have found that you generally need to have at least 10 book reviews and ideally 25 book reviews for the ads to work - so pre-release challenges do make sense. Thanks for sharing your experience.

What campaign type do you suggest, sponsored products or lockscreen ads? Also, how many reviews is sufficient before getting an ad? Thanks

Ideally having 25 reviews ... but that's not always feasible. We generally test both and if one is not performing - stop it.

I don't promote a book with KZread ads ... but the results of the ads are good for attracting clients for Book Launchers and building our newsletter list. I don't think I would have the stomach for the trial and error with KZread ads if it were a $4-$6 profit on a book at the end of it all! The book would have to feed a much bigger game plan for it to be worth it because most of the conversions on the KZread ads are somewhere between $2- $14 depending on the offer and conversion metric.

But there are restrictions on the nitch to do adds on

After surveying several professionals, I have decided to return to my original book cover. The revised cover is too negative and may eliminate the thousands of professional educators who may be interested in "Family Pledge: How to Raise Life-long Learners and Good Citizens". Additionally. the sticker that identifies my book as a "best seller" is false advertising and is contrary to my values about being honest and truthful. Are you ever going to tell me the cost of your services?

That is correct - we only work with non-fiction. Fiction is a different ball game - the marketing, the editing, design and well, everything needs a slightly different approach, and we want to be best in class with non-fiction before we even think about doing anything else!
