Life is never same after hearing Wintersun. It sets the scale higher. This gets all the time better even after hundreds listenings. Land of snow and sorrow next…same studio session…then Loneliness lyric video…i recommend listening Loneliness with dimmed lights but able to see video with lyrics…you will find yourself at the frozen snowy lake..Real journey…

As you listen to this, you can hear the brutality of the winters of Finland and the North. Battling your way through the cold and winds, with the stars and heavens glowing above you. These musicians are simply incredible.

Sweat dripped from his forehead in to his eyes so Kai was drumming a few times with his eyes closed because their was no time to dry his eyes , much respect!, And Jukka is great to. everybody in Wintersun is very good.

I want to emphasize Teemu Mäntysaari, green guitar, who is a songwriter, player and teacher who has impressive level of personal mastery of the techniques. You can find many videos where Teemu shares his personal strategies for guitar playing.

Yeah, absolutely. As far as I know it's the last recorded session from the rehearsals. The Forest Seasons, a concept album, could follow follow then. It's not live at all, but the four long songs, all different in a way, last almost an hour. And there are lyrics too. I've been listening to this album at least twice a day for the last 4-5 months. I'm very much a guy like yourself. As being a Nightwish fan for 25 yesrs I of course knew this band's existence since 2015, but I wasn't ready to begin a journey with them until this year. On the other hand I'm not really disappointed, because now it looks like I've got some totally new energy in my life, right when I needed it.

Your whole discussion before the breakdown, about breaking into this new genre, happened to many of us, during or around the pandemic. For me, it was almost 3 years ago, re-discovering Nightwish (I say rediscovering because I gave them a pass in 2012 when they hit Octane with Annette singing - 😴). Nightwish pried open the door of symphonic metal - but even then, I found Marco too harsh! But the education that followed, watching Epica, like you, Sabaton, and Wintersun - this song was so unbelievably epic it just forced my acceptance to harsh vocals - because they integrate them in perfect way!!!

Always nice to find new people getting into Wintersun to witness the epic band they are! Time is my all time favorite song, but Wintersun has no bad songs on their catalog so you have some more to listen to. As you mentioned about growling used as a way to express passion and rage and all emotions, I would suggest you also react to the Finnish melo-death masters of Insomnium. They have beatiful melodies, amazing guitar riffs and great lyrics. They have a lot more growling, but Niilo Sevänen is so great using his voice and has a unique growl that is easy to recognize ( Belzebubs is a great example, but that is for another time). The easy first reaction would be 'While We Sleep', as it it a great song with more clean vocals and it's under 7 minutes long. kzread.info/dash/bejne/qHaOl7WFetDMlNo.html But seeing you don't have a problem listening to longer epic songs (and more on the subject of using growls to express emotions), 'Pale Morning Star' is such a beautiful yet heavy song. It gets me teared up every time I listen to it on my own. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pH5sm6hyqNKtYJs.html These are my two suggestions to get into the band, and they have a lot more in store should you warm up for them.

When you and Spencer sat down to listen to Nigthtwish, "Phantom of the Opera" with Floor and Henk, did you ever in your wildest dreams think you would end up here? That random YT AI algorithm sparked quite the journey. A few other bands to consider: Unleash the Archers (Canadian), Jinjer (Ukrainian), Fleshgod Apocalypse (Italtian), After Forever (Dutch), Arch Enemy (Swedish), Spiritbox (Canadian), Apocalyptica (Finnish), Avantasia (German), Rammstein (German), Delain (Dutch), Dimmu Borgir (Norwegian), Disturbed (American), Gojira (French), The Hu (Mongolian), Korn (American), Tool (American), Lacuna Coil (Italian), Sleep Token (British) I pulled this off of my music library and it's only a modest portion of it, which in turn is just a very small sample of what's out there. There's a long road ahead. :) Do you have anything better to do?

Imagine life with out NW and Wintersun😮😢That's why Finland is The "happiest" country In The World, 6 times on a row 2022😅😊.You saw The beast and The "human" metronome. And The quality of The band and songs. That is why I said, I could give you like 100 Finnish bands/vocalists, that wipes he Floor with any, let's say "American" band😂😅😍. Ok, couple of exceptions, but The point is, there are so many amazing bands, vocalists you never heard of. And I do not think Your head is ready yet, so let's Take it easy. The Best growling-clean vocals and The NO. 1 Nightwish special guest for decades: "Amorphis" or one of Marko's Long time "babies" : "Northern Kings" - a total surprise. Best Regards from Finland ❤
