Been a mechanic and welder for 27 years and have worked in industry standard, state of the art, air conditioned shops with every tool in the world at my disposal. I find these videos amazing. They're making it happen with barely any tools, archaic methods by 1950s standards on a dirt floor and the quality of the repair is pretty gd decent. It wouldnt fly in fleet maintenance a hot rod or race car shop. But damnit it will get the vehicle back out on the road and last for years. It's impressive.

I think he got a little sloppy with the chisel work and should have sharpened the chisel instead of ripping the brass. I also think they should have made those holes before they soldered the tank on the top. Nice soldering technique though.

The cooling radiator must be checked at a pressure of 1-1.5 atmospheres. What is there to admire? with the same success they might not have checked at all.

I assume this radiator was from a different vehicle that was shorten to fit the fan housing. That's why when they assembled it it was a perfect fit despite being at least 5cm shorter.

I honestly think we in the South Asia are pretty much living in an equivalent of fifteenth century. More so than politically and economically than technically. We have a tonne of skilled labour that can design this stuff but no economy to back up the manufacturing facilities and required labor. P.S Pakistan is doing the worst out of pretty much all Asian economies at the moment.

Пилять -опрессовывает ртом да ну нах- минимум 2 атмосферы надо - иначе антифриз потечёт !А патрубки с внутренней стороны припаял-если нет от вибрации припой оторвёт!

@@user-kl2qh9kb8i В этих странах на грузовиках антифриз не применяют, слишком дорого , льют в систему охлаждения воду. Если хорошо пропаять не жалея припоя то ничего не оторвет раньше радиаторы с завода так же были пропаянны.

Assuming it came out of that truck in the background and going by its old copper construction that radiator hasn't been manufactured since the 1980s repairing the old one is the only way other than taking one off another junk truck or rigging a different modern type to work.

Well... I just ordered a 1200 euro Maserati radiator from a mechanic that studied for 6 years. These guys fixed it

Full respect from USA. Here we toss and buy new. This is a great example of quality materials and there ability to be used over and over. Love this channel and these craftsman

I am impressed with the man's skill. That's the first copper brass radiator I've seen in quite a long time. He'd have a hard time keeping his trade going in the U.S. All radiators have plastic tops and bottoms crimped on with an O ring seal inside.

В чём золотые руки? в том чтобы колёса трёхметровый трубой затянуть🤦 или какие-то тупые конструкторы трубы в змеевик замкнули а тут так всё просто в один коллектор замкнули и всё Су..... х**** что в половине радиатора циркуляции не будет это же мелочь правильно? Да золотой ты наш(!)

I still think it's wonderful that people repair things in this largely disposable world..

I won't be trying this on my radiator any time soon... If my machanic suggested doing this to fix my radiator I'd probably scrap the car and buy a new one..I love the way each one of them is good at one particular thing and they just sit around chatting until its their turn.. Huge respect to these craftsmen...

Gobsmacked, amazing talent. My only suggestion, if I may, would be to make the cutouts before fitting on the core, to prevent metal shavings entering the core and to use pressurized air instead of a blowing into the core. It's a closer test to reality. Normal lung pressure might not blow a super thin weld, but pressurised air will. Amazing talent nonetheless.

No. Just a repaired radiator. Be impressed by his skill, not the end result.

You guys do some amazing stuff I appreciate being able to save something instead of throwing it away I would also love to build a workbench if I could 🤷🏻‍♂️👍🏽
