In response to a comment that was made to me. For starters I am 68 Years old. I have noticed on many of the Video's I have watched that comments have been turned off as there are true Martial Artists who are insulted by Tons of Kids being handed Black Belts like Candy on Halloween. Having closely watched their forms it is understandable why many Practitioners are disturbed by what they see. I started at 63, and after Six tough Surgeries, Double knee replacement, screws in my feet, Cancer, 44 Radiation treatments, and a Month in a Nursing Home, I still managed to earn my 1st Degree Black Belt (Shodan) in Goju Ryu at the age of 67. It wasn't handed to me. I sacrificed those Years and would not trade them in for Anything. Now the real Training begins. I hope all those young Black Belts continue to train and learn as I hope to also do.

@@theferretlord8070 for my yellow belt testing I was very exited to break 2 board instead of one the sad part is that they made me do a roundhouse but I hit the board so hard that told me they should have given me more boards. I was very exited after that and I still have those boards to this day.

I go to an American Taekwondo Association school. Our black belt test required a 2 mile run in under 20 min, then a “fit test” that you have to complete in under 5 minutes consisting of 50 push ups, 50 sit ups, and 300-3 move punch/kick combos. Then 8 forms ranging from 30 to 70 moves each, then like 10 rounds of sparring, then, at the very end, board breaks.

I do kuk sool won and their belt before black is brown w/2 black stripes called the dahn bo nim. Testing is around 5-6 hours full of conditioning 6-10 forms over 100 techniques board breaking. Also 1000 kicks and strikes. I had to do 100 jumping jacks 50 squats 30 crunches over 60 push-ups and it all happened in 4 1/2 hours that was for my dahn bo nim test. Now to do it every three months for the next 1.5 to 3 years.

Wow...things have changed. We never had junior black belts, all had to complete the grading equally. And our grading lasted three days, sometimes 5. And we couldn't walk by the end of it, & usually couldn't function properly for weeks after. And that was just transitioning from brown belt black tip to black belt. How times have changed. It appears to be more of a sport nowadays than an art. But, I'm old, I'm talking about over 30 plus years ago, & in another country, & was a more military based art form. Very different nowadays.

Then forms flying kicks and Hapkido tests. Next was sparing 11 black belts a minimum of two minutes each. They could go full contact but I had to pull my technique to show I could maintain control. Last break three two inch cap blocks with a shuto strike. Good times 😊

I learned tons of forms, learned the nunchucks, bo staff, and because I was so advanced even though I was only in the 1st grade, they taught me how to use the sword. Not as much as nunchucks and bo staff tho. By now, I would be like rank 100000 black belt, but unfortunately, I only got to advanced blue belt. The 8th belt (the fourth color).

Uhm that's the point of boards besides breaking them. And improving strength. Boards. And bricks. Are equal to certain bones. Some of them are weaker. But if you can break a full board. You can break bones brother.

captaincapcut No it’s not. It means they’re shit. There’s a difference between making sure all your students learn everything thoroughly to upgrade (where it would take around 5 years to get your black belt) and between just being bad

I am very very surprised at these instructors and their braking technique the open hand technique on wood is not very productive on brick it works very well and would not so much And the fact of these instructors are teaching them this their children and little girl is really doing all that she can and she is very young children that age should not be breaking anything because their bones have not really developed into where they would not have any Serious injury from the strike I would seriously question these instructors because there's a lot laws that protect children from harm in martial arts training

At about the 1:20 mark, there's no difference between a dollyo chagi and a yop chagi. The hip should be chambered so that the knee is in front of you with the sole of the foot pointing at the target.
