Amazing Snail Farm Technology 🐌 - Snail Harvest and Processing - Products of Snail : Snail caviar

Ғылым және технология

Heliciculture, commonly known as snail farming, is the process of raising edible land snails, primarily for human consumption or cosmetic use. The meat and snail eggs can be consumed as escargot and as a type of caviar respectively. Mucus, commonly known as snail slime, has medical properties and is used in cosmetics.

Once upon a time there was a fancy French restaurant. Out back the chef had a garden. In this garden lived a snail. Each & every morning, the chef would come out into the garden & pick only the best snails for that nights menu. The snail in our story wanted for all the world to be selected because it would prove that he too was the best. But, morning after morning he was passed by. Finally, this snail had had enough. So, he went downtown to the Cadillac dealership where he bought himself the biggest, longest white Cadillac on the lot. Then, he told the salesman to take it to the service department and have them paint a big red S on both doors. The salesman did as he was instructed & when he delivered the car to the snail he asked what the red S was all about. Well, said the snail, when I drive down the street I want everyone who sees me say- ‘Man oh Man, look at that S car go’ !

The snails farmed in this video are not the Roman Snail (Helix pomatia) aka "Escargot de Bourgogne", referenced by the narrator near the beginning of the video, but the smaller and faster growing Speckled Garden Snail (Cornu aspersum), which in France are "Petit Gris Escargots". The white footed snails shown at the start are color mutants of C. aspersum.

@@AugustHTj The snails producing the slime used for cosmetics are Cornu aspersum. kzread.info/dash/bejne/eYqapcqJd5PKnLA.html Here's a link to a video on an introduced population of Helix pomatia in Michigan (north Midwestern US). They burrow into the soil to overwinter, and thus survive the cold in this area very well. C. aspersum is roughly half the mass of H. pomatia, and hibernates attached to the trunks of trees, on walls, and in other exposed locations, so it is much less tolerant of cold winters. It is not considered as good eating as H. pomatia, but is faster to reach market size. C. aspersum often has a very pretty patterned shell, while H. pomatia has an unpatterned shell (except for the growth annuli) in varying shades of tan to medium brown.

The slime might be a useful additive as a lubricant to engines or other mechanical moving parts. Perhaps not engines, but moving parts operating at lower temperatures. It may even be useful for sports equipment, especially water sports and winter sports (such as kayaking or skis/ snowboards). Maybe even health applications, such as Inflammatory Bowel Disorders like ulcerative colitis or crohn's disease. There are loads of untapped markets for the mucin product. Thanks for the great video, Noal Farm.

Hello guys, I’m a snail, and today I will introduce my house, Snail farms in Europe.” It may feel strange, but snail is a famous dish, especially in France.” With features of rapid growth, low cost.” So they are quite popular.” The most famous editable snail is Roman snail, and of course at that time they were already raising snails to eat.” In addition to food, they are also used for cosmetics.” And more specifically, snail eggs can also be processed like caviar, just like salmon.” Now, let me discover how they raise snails.” To start a snail farm were going to buy some snails at spring.” in the right conditions, they can hibernate for 3 months, we will wake it up in March for laying.” And they are placed in the laying room, their food during this period is mainly cereal and they will lay eggs in these little plastic pots, and we will collect it for the next step.” 1 is hatching for a baby snail, 2 is taking eggs to make caviar if the farm is big enough.” The incubation period, usually after 2 weeks, the snail will fully hatch.” Depending on the farm and size, they will be raise in a greenhouse or outdoors." Or a combination of both.” The next part that is the outdoor farming, it will maximize the size of the of the snail, the snails will be covered by the wood pallet, their current food would be grass and kind of a mustard plant.” Culture time will be from April to September and harvest, the misting system is also a temperature regulator.” Water will usually have a temperature 15 degrees Celsius higher than the environment, and be clean water.” Temperatures Harvest Time! The snail reaches a diameter of about 4-5 cm.” Collect snail eggs to make caviar.” Cosmetic making process.” They use slime secreted from snails.” The most popular is the lotion cream
