In this video you will see how blacksmiths restore an old broken hoe. He restores the hoe by joining the top end of the broken hoe with a piece of a tractor disc plough. They chose to use disc plough because it is a high carbon steel which has very good quality. In the last part of this video you will see the blacksmith uses it to cut a big twig. It is very sharp.

At first i am really impressed with old school cutting using chisel and hammer but once he use angle grinder to cut.. i say "whatttt??"
Never seen that way of harding. I have heard about it but didn’t know anyone still knew how to do it that way.

He basically annealed the cutting edge. So, he did the opposite of hardening.

We cut metal like this with radial cutting. But maybe with good forge it is also not so hard.
