cool detail, odin feared kratos... so he sends his brute weapon, thor, to confront with the ghost of sparta first. then he comes when thor signals its safe to his ravens. all while fearing the LESSER version of kratos, the god of war.

i think he used Thor more as an tool of fear rather than sending him in first to see if it is safe, Odin can see everything after all and he knows who Kratos is, he knows that Kratos is calm and perhaps reasonable person before actually meet him in person

Nah, he never feared him, he wanted to use him. Odin never does anything without purpose - he set the whole thing up to look like a courtesy peace talk. That entire scene was bait - he wanted Atreus to find "Tyr", so he would have a means to spy on them, find out how to manipulate them, and get Atreus to find that mask for him. Odin's game is the long con. They pretty much spell it out at the end of the game. Besides - He whipped Kratos & Atreus at the same time pretty easily there at the end . Had them dead to rites until Freya showed up. It took both of them + Freya just to subdue to him. I like Kratos, but there's a rabid part of the fanbase that see things that aren't there in cutscenes like this, or just miss the point entirely. Kratos is a tough dude, but no one was really running scared from him this go around.

Well technically hercules almost beat kratos, it's just that Hercules turned his back to kratos all the while showing off to hera that it gave kratos enough time and the opportunity to get back up and attack hercules while he wasn't paying attention Had hercules focused on the fight he would have killed kratos

​@@avikchakraborty5536that's something people don't pay attention to, so many opponents that were bigger than kratos could've killed him if they didn't either highly underestimate him or if kratos didn't have a massive advantage, Like Poseidon(kratos had Gaia with him) And Kronos (didn't squish kratos right away and let him slip away)

It's just them looking at the physicality. Nothing to do with what you are thinking.

The thing I like a lot in this cutscene is that, if you look at Kratos carefully, you can see him get more and more convinced by Odin's arguments, he looks like he's about to accept and to fall in Odin's trap, but then his expérience in dealing with gods comes back to him, because Kratos knows all too well that believing silver-tongued gods who try to strike a perfect deal with no drawbacks has always ended in tragedy for whoever falls for it

It could have yes, but by the time the final fight happened, Kratos was a changed man and Thor was a broken and drunk God. Neither one of them truly wanted that fight thus why it wasn't brutal.

It's so stupid that most of the players in this video agreed to odin's deal and get shock that kratos said "no" bc if kratos agree, then freya would be capture and torture just like mimir and kratos doesn't want that, he just want her to stop following them, even if kratos agree, his ass would still be kicked by thor.

In general the players in the video are stupid because most of them clearly never played the greek god of war games. One thing the games have in perfect accuracy is most gods in mythology are untrustworthy. They can offer you the best deal in your life but it will come at a price. Many times in which they won't even tell you the details of what the price will be. Or at worst. Just straight up lie to you and not even keep their end of the offer/deal especially if they think they can just kill/dispose of you later

Well, that's complicated. As far as I know, not an expert mind you, just a fan of Greek and Norse mythology, in actual Norse mythology, the weight is never mentioned specifically. It's more of a symbol. Brokr and Sindri made the hammer as a way to prove themselves, as it is explained in the game, but it was a dare, or a bet, by Loki. But the smiths won and made the weapon for Thor, only wieldable by Thor, suggesting it's more magical, similar to the Marvel version, to an extent. There is no straight answer to the question tho, only theories and different interpretations.

​@magnomliman8114 that's one of the main things in Norse mythology, that among an enchantment placed upon it, the hammer to be picked up, weighs tons, one of the main reasons thor needed bracers and a belt of strength to wield it :)

Well, from what I know, there's basically 2 versions of Thor's hammer : the ''Marvel'' version, which is a hammer that doesn't weight tons, but can only be used and moved by the worthy, those chosen by the hammer, etc ... and the Original version, in which Thor's hammer is just really heavy and there would be nothing preventing you from using it if you were strong enough to lift it. The way the game portrays it, I think it's the ''Marvel'' version, because if Kratos couldn't move the hammer, Thrud sure as hell shouldn't be able to lift it casually and fly away with it

Thor blatantly says it himself as he revived Kratos “oh no I want to see the REAL you” Thor knew Kratos was holding back and it was making him angry because he wanted to see Kratos actually get serious and get violent and brutal. He was talking trash to Kratos to try to instigate him into going into a blind rage.
