Amazing stuff, I always admired Pat Rafter (his match at Wimbledon 2001 with Goran Ivanisevic is still burned into my brain)! On a side note, I think that’s how the format should be though, three sets for everyone in majors, two sets for the regular ATP and WTA tours (unless one of them wants three sets). I just think that because the majors are special tournaments with special stakes (prize money, ranking points, etc), the challenge needs to be a bit greater, and a best of five format fits that. But it should be for everyone. Doubles, singles, mixed doubles, juniors, wheelchair, men’s, women’s… And as a bonus, that would effectively shut up anyone who still thinks women should be paid less than men.
