The other buffalo tried to intervene and help...But didn't want to get ambushed as well...So he left and SUDDENLY out of nowhere he returned...But the lions were increasing in numbers...So he realised there was nothing he could do to help....His fellow buffalo's fate was sealed....

That's a female buffalo, you can see the udders at different points of the clip, the male buffalo was trying to help her out, but the female buffalo has a broken back right leg and therefore was doomed, had no chance to escape with that broken leg.

It was quite inhuman act of the people who were filming and watching that brutal act of lions killing the injured Buffalo. it was really shameful because they could save it from lions if they wanted so. disgusting so disgusting.

I have been there, and it's not so bad. It was 12 years ago and there were a lot less people around. The males try to protect the outer part of the group and are hunted down the most. Lionesses had a very particular way to get them and open them.

Suffocation doesn't always kill the prey either, its purpose is to subdue it. The goal is to bring the prey down and stop it from struggling. If that's achieved, there is no reason for them not to eat already.

You see a similar behavior among canines. They don’t go for the jugular vein, do you think they have an understanding of anatomy? They suffocate the animal usually by choking it around the throat, and for some animals by clamping it’s jaws over the preys mouth! I assume by your inane comment you are American!

They are cubs....4 males one female......check the mane line on top of their heads.....A fully grown male lion or sometimes female can kill a large cape buffalo alone....a lot of such videos on KZread.......tigers on the other hand can't hunt cape buffalos bcos they are scared of injuries from stronger prey.....they rather hunt water buffalos which are much smaller cows with smaller or no horns, much less aggressive and less muscle mass...🦁🐯...I love both btw🤗

The circle of life. That buffalo came out of the marsh with a severely maimed right rear hoof, as well as it’s rear and tail being eaten on. It’s shorter life here means continued life for the lions... until hyenas come and run them off, or male lions, etc. This isn’t a guaranteed meal, if but a meal. It’s a jungle out there.

What a circus! It seemed like the buffalos only way out of the water was to head straight into the lions because of the parade of vehicles blocking its escape. They need to ban this shit. And what the hell do you need continuous still pictures for? click click click click click click click click... yeah, i think you captured the scene. Now you can fill 5 photo albums with 10 seconds of activity and bore the hell out of people lol.
