At 8:33 I incorrectly state the length of the Nordschleife. The correct length is 12.9 miles or 20.832 km.

I have a 2016 Cadillac ELR with a smaller battery like the Volt, but uses a gas engine as an electric generator. When the battery is discharged, about 35 miles, the generator starts. It provides electricity to run the car and charge the battery back to half charge. I can also switch to generator power only when I am on the highway at 70 miles an hour (an inefficient speed for an electric) saving the battery for around town. With a gas tank of 9 gallons and the battery coming back on line as it is charged, a distance over 300 miles can be covered without stopping. Also with a smaller battery, there is less vehicle weight (around 4,000 lbs) so all systems can be made lighter. They were expensive and gorgeous, and did not sell well and production was terminated.

I definitely can't argue with your top pick! Great video, think we will ever be able to recover one of the old Lunar Rovers?

That’s an interesting question. I think yes. I’m hoping that when we go back to the moon in a few year we can at least see the old landers and rovers.

8:33 The modern Nürburgring Nordschleife is not 38.9 km , it is 20832 m. The ID-R drove the 20832 m Nordschleife lap. For EV lap times search: Nordschleife Foersom

You are correct. I'm not exactly sure how I messed that one up, but I'll see if there is a way I can correct it. Thanks for pointing this out!

I'm feeling red flags on the dumper truck. Do they ever load up and carry their load DOWN into the quarry instead of out of it?

A _very_ fresh view on important EVs. Some other criteria would perhaps include EV1 or Nissan LEAF for their historic importance, or current bestsellers like Renault Zoe, but they are not so cool. BTW, Pininfarina Battista has Rimac's drivetrain, so the two could be considered the versions of the same car. And you are right - it is unlikely any one of the crowded field of electric hypercars will truly stand out.

I agree with your choices, but yes, they aren’t quite so cool. Perhaps another video someday on the top historical EVs.

Dankie/ Merci 4 this educational video, Josch. The French or Belgium cars that go to 60km/h in 1899! At that same time the Second War of Independence was between the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek with the aid of his sister Boer Republic against England with the aid of Every English speaking country in this globe, except 4 America. In 1899 it was horses, mule and ox wagen in South Africa. The Moonbuggy only had 0.75kW motors on each wheel and it drove at max 16km/h on open "veld". 16km/h is good. Especially if U R stuck on the road in South Africa ...and your life is in danger. Thx.
