For those confused about battery or generator - this is an INVERTER GENERATOR. This is common knowledge for those of us that use one for camping and fishing etc. So please stop bashing him (Danny) because he is using the correct terminology.

@@DeepSouthHomestead it's so strange to see people speaking as if they are an authority without understanding what information is being presented. Those of us that know and live this life get it. Your video was informative and you clearly stated what your expectations were. The product lit your entire home. You also said that you'll be testing it out further with the 12v mini-fridge. As it stands it did an outstanding job meeting expectations, ease of use, out of the box set up etc. and you'll be testing it to see what else it can do. There isn't much else you can ask from an unboxing video - you literally tested it on camera! Kudos to you on your video and you explained it very well. ❤️

That is awesome Danny. And yes it is considered a generator. I am a solar/power generation/control electrician offshore, for anyone who disagreed. As for bridging phases, a 6 inch jumper in the panel would have been easier. I would put the second outlet on the other phase and in the future you could get a second Bluetti and have 220 in your offgrid cabin by using each for the 2 phases. God bless.

A small solar panel array outside facing to true south that is piped into the I.T. room in the cabin would remove the need to bring that heavy thing outside or possiblely it getting caught outside when it rains. I live in Pic. just south of you if you would like help laying it out.

EDIT: After thinking about it for an hour, our electric bill is $162 a month, on the budget and all electric. Reduce that to $40 a month, (no electric heat and cooling) this will pay for itself in 35 months.

There's a guy from the UK that has evaluated the 1500.He does a demonstration of what the 1500 can run. According to him the 1500 will run a small energy efficient freezer. As for the price of an actual solar system, Pepper Nurse1, in Northern New York, shows how he started his system and different upgrades he has made. It's very informative. He just made a new upgrade but he made one several months, I think last fall, before the latest one. He calculated his costs including the original and the upgrade he made before his recent one. It was right around 15,000.00. The bluetti is going to be much more cost friendly. Also with an actual solar system it's not just about batteries and solar panels. There's plenty of more expensive gadgets needed. Danny, I hope you don't get mad about me posting the other channel but PrepperNurse1 is a straight pepper where your channel is homesteading. I really think he has some very informative videos out on solar power and he's honest about what it's cost him and all of the controllers and upgrades he's had to make.

We are future homesteaders and are building a tiny house out of a shipping container. We would love to do solar and question whether this solar generator would take care of our needs. All the solar and electrical talk drives me crazy because it's difficult for me to understand. So is your plan to use the solar generator to power your tiny house and then you just recharge daily? By the way, we love your channel and are inspired by your great wisdom! I question whether we could do the solar to meet the needs of a deep freezer a refrigerator and a mini split. I know that it could be done we just don't have the skills to figure out our solar needs .

Sounds like more of a portable battery pack to me, versus a "generator " I have a large solar system, but it's direct net metering, no batteries. Problem is, when I have no power due to a storm, there's not enough sunlight to run my house. Sometimes the panels are generating enough power to give me brown-out conditions, which could ruin my appliances. So, I end up flipping my main breaker off, to send all solar power to the utility company until the power comes back on. I do have a gasoline generator, which usually works well. But right now I am searching for an alternative temporary heat source. I'm on natural gas, but I don't like assuming there will always be gas, especially when temps can get down to -20 or lower. The gasoline generator is enough to run my furnace, but I still would need natural gas to run the furnace. If I got a blue eddy and kept it charged, would it be enough to run a couple small ceramic space heaters? They are pretty energy efficient and can put out a surprisingly amount of heat, without fumes & fire danger. In a grid down scenario, I would shut off most of the rooms, and have a small space to heat. Wouldn't expect it to make the rooms tropical, just enough to keep me, the pets and plumbing from freezing. Danny: - your thoughts? ...

Technically you could have just used a jumper from one leg of the double pole breaker to the other leg and accomplished the same thing. That is all you did at the receptacle. There was never any 220 to turn into 110. You would need a 180° phase shift to have 220 across both legs. You can put a multi meter across the breaker and will read zero volts cause you are ready the same point.

I understand the initial cost up front can be high but the beauty of it is you can start and then add to it as you go as well as it pays for its self and check with your tax office for incentive programs to help lower the cost if available. I do like your idea 💡 but I think 💭 you will find it’s short term , based on your need and appliances. 👍🏻

The unit is, indeed, amazing. Two things come to mind, however: You say its VERY heavy, yet you need to set it outside to charge with the solar panel. That seems a major inconvenience. QUESTION: WILL YOU MOUNT IT ON SOMETHING LIKE A GARDEN CART WITH TWO FEET AND TWO WHEELS FOR EASE OF TRANSPORT? The other thing is that, Danny, you're an electrician, and could revamp the wiring to make your 'electric box' on the wall into a 110 'servant' (don't know what to call what you did). The unit seems complicated that way to a 'civilian' of-grid user. You said its not Code. QUESTION: IF A CIVILIAN (NON-ELECTRICIAN) CONSUMER HAD TO GO TO AN ELECTRICIAN, WOULD THEY/AS A PROFESSIONAL ELECTRICIAN, WIRE IT UP THE WAY YOU DID? Its very enticing, that's for sure!

Arnold Romppai what does it matter to you, exactly? Is it because this channel is promoting self sustainability and some off grid ideas, so they shouldn't try to make money in any fashion or use any kind of power source? There are many channels that advertise, try out, give reviews on several of the same companies and products but that doesn't make them the sell out you are implying. This is how companies grow. I've never heard them say, we want to live like the cavemen did with absolutely no modern items. They are promoting self responsibility, accountability and teaching skills to others to do the same! Major ego trip happening!
