Off to a good start Alex!!......see just go detecting and don't overthink it and have fun!! Now the iron falsing is more than the deus 1 due to the multi frequency.....but you will be able to just ignore the little blips before long. Great stuff as ever Alex, and nice to see you seem to be gel'ing with Doris almost immediately... 👊 On Sensi FT vs 'Falsing' - I was suprised to 'turn a corner' one day and (almost) completely understand those tones. I use a custom Sensi FT now, as an 'extra reference' before digging - but very fond of 'Relic' for actually finding stuff... Anyways, happy hunting and Loving those Jettons!... 👏👏 Bobby 🐏

Thanks Bobby! Problem is though that even though I think I'm getting used to the iron, I dug something the other day in pasturer purely out of interest to see what it was, being 100% convinced that the tones it was giving me was iron - it was a large copper artefacts, incredibly deep down, so I'm back to square one… having to check EVERY signal for about 3 minutes!!!!!

@@HolzHammerSagas Yes, I feel you there mate - it's frustrating, (almost worrying eh? ;). This is prob. why I've ended up 'devoted to' the Relic program... With Relic, there's only 1 Tone, so 'critiquing' sound becomes irrelevant... I go 360º round the Target looking for a consistent *Number* - If it's looking good, then I'll quickly switch to SensiFT and have a wee listen. I realise this is prob. less 'fun' (and a bit weird too ;). but I genuinely think it's the best way to get the Max Performance out of the D2... Anyways, I'll say no more... 🤣😂 Take care matey, B 🐭

I predict you will love it. It's so easy to adjust the "squawk" unless the site is trashy and even then it can be done. It helps me understand my 1 better. Turning the frequency setting down to 24 from 40 will reduce the sound of tiny copper, lead and related sounds.

Hi Alex. I have owed my Deus II since its inception. I have the remote with the WS6 headset. It’s an unbelievable machine once you get a handle on it. it will punch deep into the ground, and on some surprisingly small targets. I am at heart a Minelab guy and just ordered a Manticore (my wife will be so pleased)…ok no she won’t… but anyway, I think the mistake that they made with the D2 was calling it a Deus and the reason I say that is because it is constantly being compared to the original Deus and it’s not the same animal, not at all really. I feel it’s a bit unfair to both machines in a way. They’re both fantastic set ups and should be treated individually. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new machine and find something worthy of the British museum with it! Give Tasci a scratch behind the ear for me. Good luck!~Paul

Hi Alex. The hook object @14:30 looks like a collar hook/clip which were quite popular between 1550-1620 in France (Agrafe de col). They closed those ruffles or folded collars that we see in images of Elizabethan nobility and of course Lord Black Adder and Percy. The relatively sudden end to their use began in 1610 and was apparently due to the advent of large lace collars which were lighter and no longer required such a strong attachment, so buttons or knots did the trick. Hope that puts you on the trail of finding one that matches yours for a more precise dating. All the best.

Hello🙂, On the subject of Deus 2, I felt the same way, I used the Deus 1 for years and I found it very difficult to switch to the Deus 2. I'm currently using version 2.0 and recently saw a video from Garry Blackwell on his channel Metal Detecting Skill scool where he presented a hot program for the Deus 2. I think it's absolutely brilliant, it sounds and works like the Hot program on the Deus 1. The only changes I make is to set the reactivity to 2 or 2.5 and if the EMI allows it, the audio response from 4 to 5. It works perfect and since the program I have been completely satisfied with the Deus 2. The silencer also works significantly differently than with the deus 1. I find that with Silencer 2 or 3, iron or objects next to iron can be identified better or it seems to me as if the silencer means that good finds close to iron are displayed better. Maybe you'll give it a try. I also find the Ws6 XL to sound significantly better and the small 22.5 coil can definitely separate better. greetings from Germany✌️

@@HolzHammerSagasI think it just takes time to learn a new machine and get used to it. I used to use Deus 1 and Equinox 800, now I use the Deus 2 and Equinox 900, mainly because I can't use every detector in every field due to EMI or the ground conditions. To your huge jeton. I occasionally find some here from time to time, usually the Nuremberg version, but I have never seen or found such a huge one here before. In general, most of the coins or tokens here in Germany are relatively small with a diameter of 1 to 2 cm, like Roman coins. There are of course also larger silver coins, but unfortunately they are usually not in the fields🤣. I wish you much success and always good finds with the new detector. Stay healthy🙂

@@HolzHammerSagas Thank you very much 🙂 Oh, that's very different. Mostly between conductivity 20 and 100. Most smaller silver coins from 15th century are not pure silver but have a very high copper content. These are in the 40 to 60 range. Most small silvers from the 17th and 18th centuries are shown between 60 and 80. Even all of the, I think you call them milled coins in English, some only have a silver content of 20 percent, the rest is unfortunately copper. Then there are, for example, very thin one-sided pennies from the 10th and 11th centuries, which usually only weigh half a gram. These are detected in the range from 20 to 35. They are slightly larger in diameter but very, very thin. Bracteates or semi-bractates or also called thin pennies. So normally we have to dig everything in very old fields here. Due to the large number of different coins here in Germany caused by the many countries and small states, you can never know what exactly is under the coil. The large coins from the Empire, 1, 2, 3 or 5 marks, between 1872 and 1918 are usually always over 91.

So your going to love it to bits once you get used to it .... Going to be harder with the lite version for sure I know the controller. Is quite expensive. Do you ever buy any of those limited edition first sets of coins? I've got a couple of memorial sets one for D Day 75th anniversary and another collection for VE day anniversary and I was going to buy the new set of king Charles coins I think it was a coin of each denomination £3.88 of coins but they have a unique crown stamp and came with a folder and I thought theirs gotta be a hidden £2.99 postage or something but in the fine print the cost was £35.99 and I think it's great to have these first editions but tacking on £30 + just for a tiny crown mark is way way too muc so I'll just wait until they're in general circulation.

As you may recall I pause and comment so that's why you'll sometimes see 2 or 3 comments in one video, anyway I have to pause n ask otherwise I'd forgot by the end so my first question so far is once you have cleaned identified your coins and registered them with the relevant historical authority where needed what do you do with coins that you have several of the same or if they are ot particular valuable? I imagine if like myself you collect coins your not in it for that big hoard that'll make you rich but for the love of coins and other history 🤔 so do you trade them in exchange with other collectors or donate them to museums? I one found 3 coins in the weirdest way when I was 10 I was walking past a house going home and I dropped my books on the path by the house garden hedge and as I was picking them up I saw a coin on the soil under the hedge and as I leaned under I saw 2 more just sitting on the surface and I recognised the biggest as a queen Victoria penny but the other 2 were caked so took em home cleaned em and the penny was from 1917 and their was a 3 penny bit and a 2 shillings coin, I only remember the date of the penny cuz it was minted during ww1, anyway what they were doing sitting there I do not know and if I'd had the inclination I'd have asked to have a dig around that area cuz I was 10 years old and metal detection wasn't something I'd ever considered back then but for an eyes only find 3 coins I was pretty pleased, anyway being so young they went in a draw and after a couple of years were forgotten about and they're at my parents house somewhere but nearly 34 years ago so who knows where lol.

But that notwithstanding I still have prostate problems but who doesn’t and I have no idea who or how to repay the sesterces to although I would like to tell the urologist this is how I am going to fix my problem rather than submit to the knife.
