She is very beautiful. Some of the newer ones have marvellous technique but they’re just missing the ‘it’. The dancer must bring genuine emotion to her dance. She does. Good luck to her, she is a wonderful ballerina 🩰🩰🩰👵🇦🇺

Better tha maria korea because korea promotes herself and not the character
iliushkina possesses a unique quality in her technique as well as her sense in character. Although there something of her reminds me of Lopatkina who I adored. I’m glad that they offer her a great opportunity to dance some lead roles which makes her a future ballet star of Mariinsky.

I ve seen her live in Mariinsky twice, she has unique charisma in the reality, the physical waves, clouds of warm charm, its unbelievable, really, in the same performance there was Maria Choreva, no charisma, emotion and no any live for music, I was really shocked as Choreva is being so advertised and promoted and she is a real fake, but I had never seen Ilyshkina before that performance and SHE was A REAL rising STAR!
she engages with the audience beautifully, always letting us see the feelings of the character or her joy in the dance. And during the times when she’s setting up something like a pirouette, she’ll give a little head motion to keep the momentum going, rather than staying still and letting the audience see that she’s waiting to move. This means her solos are all one lovely whole, not discrete passes across or around the stage. A wonderful dancer and I really wish I could see her in person!
Thanks for this beautiful video!! Maria possesses intelligence, elegance and a wonderful technique. All the best to this lovely dancer ❤💖❤💖❤

Thanks for your wonderful comments!
A wonderful upcoming star, showing impeccable musicality, refinement and personal charm together with great variation in original musical moments of emphasis, sometimes even appropriate flares of energy! There is nothing forced in her flowing technical feats. Her moments of balance show up as held with exceptional controlled ease. Particularly impressive is how well she holds her arabesque in that daunting veil pas de deux in the first variation presented here. To be able to perform this most challenging veil pas de deux at her young age shows that she also possesses the determined concentration and nerves of steel required. Thank you for alerting us to her most probable eventual rise to principal dancer. Thank you once again to TheBunduBallerina.
4.30p.m. Never, since I watched Alicia Markova in person many many years ago, have I seen a ballerina of such lightness of step, such daintiness of execution and ethereal appearance...she is exquisite...long may she reign!

True and I think she already does so in the way she performs the perfectly confident and controlled veil pas de deux from La Bayadere. I have never seen a longer balance here at 0:39 - 0:43 and no wobbles in this daunting pdd,, than when performed by Ilyushkina.
I LOVE seeing the moments when ballerinas have to turn to the left like the La Bayédéré and Diana et Acteon variations. When I entered the academy in Russia 🇷🇺 my teachers told me I HAD to turn right (I’m a lefty!) which ended up being the biggest blessing of my career. I became the rare even ballerina who can turn, jump and have equal flexibility on both sides. Brava, Anastasia!👏🏻🩰

I see workmanship here, straightforward, and mostly conventional with a few highlights, but nothing is complete. Nothing from the impressive repertoire here sets the stage on fire, with one exception, the Diamonds variation which I loved, except for the weak ending chainees which, according to Meryl Ashley must be done with fast brio like Mr. Balanchine wants. The comparison to the legendary Lopatkina is quite premature. For now, I would have cast her as Myrtha, Gamzatti, and other 2nd roles. Was that the great NOVIKOVA ( sitting as Gamzatti) to her Nikiya? Great post, B.D.!! Thank you for your great 👍 channel.

Beautiful and interesting ballerina with amazing lines. No distortion due to hyperextension or attempts to lift her leg above shoulder length. There is something different about how she holds her fingers in comparison to other Vaganova-trained ballerinas. Her pinky fingers are not coordinated with the other fingers and stand out a bit. But I actually find this "flaw" pretty too. Thanks for the compilation!

She is very soft and pretty but I miss the brilliant speed and diamond precision along with musicality and artistry we see from Tereshkina. But I guess she is just one of a kind ....

Sorry, I'm not seeing it. She's good, yes, but not outstanding. She dances very heavy, stiff and poor extension. Her right arm? She lacks 'sparkle' imo.
She is beautiful but far from principal quality. Definitely lyrical qualities. Needs to use her extensions to the fullest. He attitude turns need improvement. Great potential, but needs more maturity.
And yes she is lovely but she is no Lopatkina.

@JB Evangelista She has a soul. Ilyushkina is very young, she is only 22 years old. Performing on the Mariinsky stage is a huge burden of responsibility. She tries too hard not to miss anything, so she looks like an excellent student on the exam.

@JB Evangelista Come on y'all! The issue is not about her not already being a beautiful artist. She is and of course, if she works intelligently and remains healthy, as injury free as possible, she will certainly improve even more and might have a long wonderful career. The issue is giving all those beautiful thoroughbreds something new and inspiring, not only for them but for us who realize that eating steak every day gets to be "boring"! Russia being the great nation that it is and it is, has no excuse. And for the person who wrote saying that I was making my conclusion based only on seeing part of the repertoire. Again...I am basing what I wrote on what the Russians choose to showcase their new stars in. What we see are always the same solos, variations, pas de deuxs, etc, from the same old productions, with these new stars in them. It is all lovely but even lovely isn't lovely forever! Come on Russia! You can represent yourself so much better! Heck, you have all the talent in the world to do it with.

@JB Evangelista You took the words out of my mouth! Ilyushkina has a fine technique, is a good actor and dances intelligently and musically, but she does not yet have the glorious movement from the soul which is Lopatkina's hallmark. She will, in time, find her own personal way of being a fully developed ballerina.
Musicality snd technique. These are irreplaceable. I would like to see these attributes. More than two pirouettes would be nice.

I find too she is not so good.
I thought she was Maria Khoreva...nice, but after Novikova I see all the same.
Complex feelings. In static poses, it's like Terpsichore herself, when she moves, the charm disappears. I haven't seen a better anthropometry for ballet. Beautiful! But there are too many mistakes, too much puppetry in the movements, too little actual art and artistry. Yes, she is trying, improving every year, but the age of a ballet dancer on stage is too short. Will she have time to achieve what she wants? I sincerely wish her success, but I'm not sure.

The same old ballets with a new ballerina doing the same old roles as the one before her and the one before her and the one before her. Endless boredom. A new ballet using these wonderful creatures would be nice. Is it too much to ask? Other countries and other dance companies introduce new ballets by old and new choreographers all the time. @@user-sx3wy7mh9g My conclusion is based on what I see and have seen. I know each one of those ballets and enough about each one having seen them all for "years" and have trained enough students who have gone on to perform in them, to know what I wrote is true. Each time there is a new "star", and there are many - male and female. They are shown doing the same old ballets - complete or partially - a variation from them or pas de deux from the same old ones. Don't get me wrong. The productions are wonderful and the dancers are of course top notch because they are trained factory, assembly line, style, which is also great. But with all that superior talent, coming from the dancers technique, you would think that somehow, someway, there would be a new choreographer on the horizon with new fresh ideas to showcase those incredible new stars in. And Balanchine's "Diamonds" alone doesn't count. I am not saying by any means that the old dinosaur productions shouldn't be showcased. I am simply saying that each time Russia wants to introduce a new star and again...they have so many, if they would only introduce even a third of the number of new productions to showcase them in, perhaps there wouldn't still be this great exodus of their stars fleeing to the west and other places. I am not wrong in what I have written because what is is what is!
