I've split 5 cords through it so far. Does what I need it to. kzread.infoUgkxUyQswtttSffRMblGbrhCvZn7JkhtG1-7 I scrounge all my firewood and am not equipped to handle big wood, but for logs up to 24 inch diameter or so, it works great. I've been amazed by some of the gnarly bur oak and elm crotches it has split. For the tougher stuff within it's size range, you might have to study the piece a bit to decide the best attack, but if you split smart it's up to the job. It did arrive low on oil, and I was would have nicked it half a star for that, but it has regained my full confidence. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2021: Still going strong after all these years. I love the one-handed operation. Hope it's still in production if I ever need to replace it

Stan, today is a great day I got a A+ on my math quiz, a A+ on my science quiz, had bbq shrimp for dinner, went to my teachers baby shower, he and his wife are expecting a little baby girl, so i chipped in, gave 20 dollars and some baby clothing, and on top of all of this, i get to sit down and relax, and watch your videos, that is what in call a day. And yesterday i cleaned my moms car and did maintenance on my Ego self propelled lawn mower, weed whip, and leaf blower, swapped the blade out for a sharp one, and tested all the machines, all work well. I wish you a very nice night and i hope your mowing season is as good as mine will be, you never know here in NJ, one minute its cold and the next its warm. Well Stan, have. A great night, your pal Alexander costa, God bless and go get em😉👊🏼🙏🏼

Sounds like you have had 2 excellent days back to back! Hopefully tomorrow will be just as great and you can make it a hattrick! Your bud Stan👊

That wood splitter is cool. Grandpa had a backhoe. My uncle built a wood splitter out of the outrigger. I can picture it but since I was young can't remember exactly how my uncle made it. Oh I so could of used a side by side to haul firewood in the house when I was young. Use to do it all by hand until I was old enough and used the plow truck to haul it in. Tried using the tractor but didn't do well in the snow pulling a trailer. Was just a Craftsman tractor with chains but no weights.

  • @JDseller1

Thanks for showing that fire wood processer. Your getting older, maybe think about making some wood frames for your fire wood. Mine hold half a cord each. Light weight steel tubing frame with fork stirrups under the frame. So I take them right to the woods, cut/split the wood and stack it in the frames. Load them two wide and four deep on my trailer. Then unload them at the house and cover them with a tarp. When I need wood at the house I take a full frame, open a double door on my back porch, set the frame inside then shut the doors. One frame full will last ten days or so when its sub-zero weather. I only handle the wood by hand, when filling the frames and putting it into the stove. All the rest is done with a Wrangler loader with forks. Your mini loader would work too.

And a really cool wood processing machine as well - 1500 cords a year...wow! Talk about a huge amount of firewood. Imagine back in the old day of cutting it all with a crosscut, then splitting by hand, hauling by horse drawn cart, and hand stacking. Glad to have gas power now.

I'm more house site excavation, septic and leach fields, land clearing, road building and commercial pipe laying in the city streets sometimes, than just landscaping like you specialize in. Although lately we been doing house lots from start to finish, with retaining walls for the walkout basements and garage unders and whatnot.

I heated a 100 year old farm house with wood for over 30 years. I think I averaged about 10 heaped up pick up loads a year. I have a corn burner in place of the wood burning furnace now and it's just not as warm as wood heat, but a WHOLE lot easier on my back and I only have to load it once a day. Every time I leave the dog behind when I get out of the truck, he HAS to come over to my seat 😂 He doesn't protest too much being left behind, unless he sees someone else that he just HAS to say Hello to.

Does it look like a cluster flop or does it look nice. Most of the time it looks less than desirable At the end of a hard day at someone else’s project you don’t have the steam left for your own. I recently uploaded a video of a homemade log splitter from a Datsun engine and scrap parts. Its not as industrious as this one, but the home made flavor is strong. It even starts with the original key. Red Green level invention.

That wood would've lasted a day or two at our old farm house. That place was legit two houses stuck together though. The previous owner had bought the house across the road and moved it over, then stuck it to the backend of the original house.

That's a COOL machine! It reminds me of the DYNA SC-14 Firewood Processor. (No I didn't remember that name I had to look it up!) Another Chanel I watch is Cody over at Wranglerstar. about 3-4 years ago he Did a video on the DYNA SC-14. I thought it was really cool! Cody claimed he could cut, split, and stack 2 years worth of firewood in a single day.

You never seen a firewood processor before? There's lots of manufacturers out there. Cord King is one of the best. You should see one of those work. Search it, awesome machine. I know a guy in my town that's got one. Their operation is allot bigger than me though. I know this one in the video is home made and that's cool. That's a good one, they did a good job. I built a high speed splitter set up years ago out of a old travel trailer frame and conveyor and stuff. Not a full blown processor but it splits with a multi wedge and fast cycle time while loading the truck and suiting my needs. I clear land and stuff for houses and fields and sell firewood. I also built a fully hydraulic band sawmill from scratch. That works good and is especially great now with the price of lumber. I never understood how you can make a profit buying all that new equipment. Must be a tight profit margin. I always bought my excavators, trucks and backhoes used and/or at auction and fixed them up myself for cheap money. Then built other equipment I needed from scratch in the shop during winter months when things are froze up. Then work it all hard during the summer. I'm in NH.
