Ben, you're incredible! That 50% Grey level for the grain, that's a killer trick!!!
@m.a8735
3 жыл бұрын
You can even try blurring the noise if you still feel it's too much, by adding a slight gaussian blur effect to your smart object as well (that you can get rid of later if you didn't like it) And an easy way to create a 50% grey layer is to press CTRL + Shift + N and from the new layer window set the blend mode to overlay then check the "Fill with overlay-neutral color (50% gray)" box. I got this trick from PixImperfect composting tuts.

Pls tell me why is 50% grey not affecting the underlying layers, pls tell?????????
@EugeneOneguine
Жыл бұрын
@@HarshitRalhan Because the blending mode is an overlay, which means it's going to blend with your colours. Now, since the overlay is only grey, with no other colours, the only thing that'll get blended is the "whiteness" and "blackness", in other words, the luminosity. If your overlay is 100% black, it'll darken your image, 100% white, it'll brighten it. Now, 50% white and 50% black, which is the grey he did here, won't do anything to the colours or the luminosity. Only the texture of the fill will impact the other layers, which is what happen when he gives a grained texture to the fill.
@Ben Marriott A shortcut for the 50% gray fill: Shift + Cmd + N opens a window to create a new layer. In the Mode dropdown, select Overlay, then check the tickbox underneath that says Fill with Overlay-neutral color (50% gray). Shave a few seconds off your workflow!

Another great tutorial. I've been vocal against some previous sponsors of yours but Skillshare is fantastic and suits you to a tee. Thanks again Ben, for taking the time to share your knowledge.
The picture in the thumbnail on the right gives off an ‘airbrushed from the late 70’s to early 90’s ‘ feel
This further enhances our belief that Photoshop is a must have design tool. Even with a small tutorial like this, it explores an exciting element and begins to unearth the endless possibilities you have with these tools. Your instructions are very easy to follow and will certainly help a lot of people out.
Those gradients really add a whole other level to the illustration! Did you have to recreate anything in AE?
I don't even start the video anymore before I hit 'like' - and I've never once regretted it. Keep up the awesome work Ben!

Well... I feel stupid. I have been using photoshop for over 10 years. I do all sorts of different work on it. I was called "The Queen of Photoshop" when I was on my design degree and was asked to help other students by the tutors. TODAY I LEARNED that you can change the brush opacity with the keyboard numbers. OH MY GOD. You have saved me SO much time!! I think I might love you... 😂😍

Wow!! Your video is super aesthetic! Great art!
Love this graphic and love everything I learned by watching this! Thank you ⭐
Amazing as always!
Super useful information but the artwork got me lol I love it
at 1:27, if you Ctrl + Click the active layer, it automatically creates a selection on everything in that layer only, so you can draw in without effecting anything else
Watching your tutorials for a while now. I am not a Motion Designer, but I like to watch the content you make, especially your thought process behind your animations and designs. A quicker way to create a Gray layer. Create a new layer, select it and press Shift + Backspace and choose 50% Gray from the drop-down menu under Contents.
This looks Awesome ❤
Duuude this was so satisfying to watch, I’ll definitely try that shading! 🥰
thank you for posting this
This is awesome 👏🏼
me encanta cómo lo que enseñás sobre tu proceso de trabajo es siempre tanto más valioso que lo ya increíble que es aprender a imitar el efecto del título
