It's nice to see you smile. I think you made the right decision: an eco-friendly house that follows international standards. I would like to give you 2 small suggestions. Maybe you can ask the architect / builders to make protecting bamboo shields to cover the glass windows during a typhoon because windows (glass) can break easily. The shields can be removable and only be needed during a typhoon. Glass windows are one of the weakest materials of any kind of building. The second suggestion: if you have coconut trees near your (future) house, cut the trees that can hit your house because your house can be typhoon and earthquake resilient but it cannot be saved from a falling coconut tree. Wish you all the best.

Great suggestions 👍
Jay did explain towards the end of the video that the Cubo house has high stadards when it comes to being typhoon proof, maybe those who commented did not finish watching the video 😅

Yes, meets all typhoon standards, and the structure has better resistance to earthquakes. Unfortunately they are currently put on concrete foundations, which is an obvious weakness.

They could be subject number 1 in the study of longevity of these modular homes in a tropical island along the hurricane belt. Well, if they consent, that's 1 free all expense paid specimen for Cubo.

@@babypanda0201 There are loads of these built in high risk typhoon areas in the Philippines already, they are far ftom being the first.
Guys i’m sure they’ve already prepared for typhoons because they already experienced it first hand. So they know what to ask and prepare for. Excited to see the house…❤️
Treated bamboo is the perfect building material, well done for promoting it. It’s strong, and a fast growth plant so renews faster than timber.

Bamboo can withstand in case of typhoon.
Just like the previous comment here, check with the builder if their mostly wooden house can withstand typhoons like Odette or Yolanda. Looking at their video, the house could be built with strong wooden ( 8”x8” ) columns around 6 to 8 pieces, 6x6 beams around the house ceiling, or with columns and beams made of steel or reinforced concrete, whichever of the 3 materials is cheaper or which you prefer.
@ziggarillo

Totally unnecessary, this design resists typhoons already. For some reason people are obsessed with concrete and rebar.
This is a nice project. Remember, your choice of place is near the ocean. This type of house will be blown easily by the wind. We lived in the Philippines when I was small. We had houses built by my grandparents. It had iron grills and cemented posts. It was blown by typhoons. The whole roof was blown into the next street. The whole building collapsed, including our elementary school. It was heartbreaking. Check very well the building you are planning to build. The materials to be used in building construction. Take care and good luck. We wish you a comfortable and happy life in the Philippines 🇵🇭 . 😇💖🙏🥰

Look into this type if building a bit further, you will find it offers equal typhoon resistance and better earthquake resistance. It's main weakness is they are currently being built on concrete and rebar foundations

so excited for you all xxx
I think u need to build a concrete house becausr Siargso is typhoon prone area. Just look and observe the houses at your neighborhood then you will know what and how your house should be built. Just an opinion though or you can consult from the experts, the engineers (🙂✌). Excited to see your doon to be house!

Must say I agree with your comments. I would build in a product which has proven itself in those conditions over many years. A house is your biggest investment and the decision has to be grounded on facts rather than something unproven just because its trendy at the time. Maybe my decision would be based more on life experience as I am in my 70s but you cannot beat experience!

They've already consulted with engineers, it's mentioned there in the video. Cubo is well aware of typhoons. They're in the Philippines. And "engineered bamboo" is as strong as concrete or even better.

I can't wait to see your new home to grow together! This seems like a very sustainable home as you've described. Bamboos are study. Hoping someday, I'll be building the same house for myself. Thank u for all the research you've done and educating the viewers.❤️
Wow....GOD BLESS🙏❤🌹 I am sure the house will be well engineered...and safe.
Wow! So excited for your family. Can’t wait long enough to watch this build up series. It will be my new summer obsession. 👍🏼❤️
This is fantastic ❤ Can’t wait to see the finish product.
this is so cool! when i was little, i've always dreamt of living in a big house that got everything in it. now that i'm older, a humble bungalow with a utilized/maximized space is the best fit for me and my family can't wait to see the design 🤩
Wasn’t surprised you found/chose cubo. If i ever need to have an addition in our roofdeck, will definitely get cubo too. Have known the company for two years and was as excited as you guys about it.
very nice, comfy house that will really be HOME to the most amazing family with a smart young daughter & a very lovable aspin dog.

This is exciting! Looking forward to the completion.
wow! can't wait to see your actual house!
Ohhhh so nice! Super excited for you guys.
Wow...but knowing you are in an island ,and had experienced lately what happened in Siargao ,for sure you made an intensive searched and checked the strength or durability of the materials against strong typhoons ...Good innovation for the future
Excited to see your cubo house. ❤️❤️❤️
Hi im also looking to buy Cubo. I asked them who manufactures there typhoon strap system and they said they will not reveal. I asked who mamufactures there processed bamboo walls roof and they said they will said they will not reveal. Ask for documented proof of there structural claims, " oh its same strap systems as in USA Florida". Dont believe word of mouth, its important to get documented info and check validity with an attorney.

Container homes are also a big thing in the US. They are using ship containers which are sturdy and can't be removed by hurricanes.
@ziggarillo
Жыл бұрын
Container homes are a gimmick, you can build the "container look" cheaper and better from scratch.
@8milesfromhome
11 ай бұрын
The problem with those is rust 😳 On this island they’d really need a lot of paint and maintenance
@ziggarillo
11 ай бұрын
@@8milesfromhome Rust really isn't much of an issue with shipping containers. However once you start to modify them they lose some of there structural integrity. They need to be modified to allow for natural light and ventilation. This involves cutting holes into, or removing parts of the corrugated steel skin. Counter intuitively this is an important part of the structure of a container. Designing a container shaped building ftom scratch ensures that openings for windows, doors and access to adjacent units (for open plan style spaces) doesn't compromise the stability of the finished building.
Make sure the house is stable enough to endure strong typhoon. Have a bunker near the house just in case. A jalousie window might not be Ideal as you need something stronger that can withstand strong winds and it doesn’t insulate too well. Kudos on your new home. Wishing you all the best!

Glad the home is supposed to follow standards for calamities like hurricanes, which is typhoons in the Philippines. Good Luck!!
I really appreciate your love of nature and willing to go green. It's important that we do our part to help protect the environment. Bambo is the fastest growing plant on the planet. I really like how each worker has a shirt with the name of what part of the construction they are responsible for. Makes monitoring the build process even easier.
Just like a Mobil home that's nice house simple but cute looking 🥰

Looking forward to see your journey towards home ownership.
The thought of you guys having your own house is also our happiness.. I'm glad the you got in touch with CUBO.. Having a sustainable smart house is what we wanted as well as long as it's a hurricane/storm/earthquake proof like you said then everything will be fine! I also am familiar with engineered bamboo since I'm also a furniture designer and we were able to design floor tiles for some government agency. I saw how the manufacturers do the process of flattening and polishing it. What we use as a finish for the tiles is POLYURETHANE it will also act as a dirt/waterproof which I think Cubo is also familiar with and they also used them for finishes. Can't wait to see the design! Update us soon!

Congratulations! The smart blinds are not gimmick they actually work. Even motorized security blinds and shutters that can help protect your windows and doors during storms and theft when your away for an extended period of time. (I installed them after Odette ) You can program/train Alexa to do almost anything. If security blinds and shutters is something you would be interested in after your home is put together, I am willing to come to you go over color /designs that fit your home and I will get them and install the system for you. Even give you a live demo using my home. just let me know. Congrats again. Property and home ownership is a major life accomplishment.
