Crazy how she can scam so many people and putting people's health's at danger and yet she's allowed to walk around Scott free.... Amanda is an amazing actress so doesn't surprise me she did this role justice.

An Emmy-- or an Oscar? Is this film considered TV fare, or a motion picture? I was guessing it's a motion picture, yet because of it's serial nature, I would support its being a television production. In any case, she MUST win some sort of award...

I was hesitant to watch this because I’ve heard the story so many times and thought it would be boring. But it’s SO good! Amanda Seyfried’s acting won me over for sure.

Just watched a movie called Anon (Netflix? Maybe hulu?) Where she was one of the main characters and she did great in that as well, showing yet another side of her acting talents

everything amanda does is spectacular. i've NEVER seen a role of hers she didn't absolutely nail. yet she doesn't really get treated like an a-list actor. what, does she have to do some insane action film to be that? i respect her for only picking roles she WANTS rather than anything she could get offered. even she was the star of jennifer's body! megan was amazing in that and i love the way she performs diablo cody's scripts and exceeds expectations from the sex-filled media surrounding her and proves she can be a drama star; but- amanda blows my mind in that movie as well as every other. glad they picked her for holmes

Tbf, it’s partly because of her own doing. She isn’t very Hollywood - she lives in a farm in New York. She doesn’t participate in publicity, just the usual promo rounds whenever she releases a film. She also turns down big Hollywood blockbusters (she was offered Gamora in the MCU) and prefers doing mid to low-budget movies and indies. Not active on social media. She is a recent Oscar nominee though and she’s locked in for an Emmy nomination so she’s finally getting her due.

This is a perfect example of a biopic where the lead is perfectly cast despite not looking quite exactly like the real life person. Seyfried just embodies the role perfectly, she's really a gifted and underrated actor.

I kept getting distracted by the side-by-sides. Elizabeth Holmes looks like plain Jane compared to Amanda Seyfried. It's disgusting that she's still living the good life after all she's done.

I think it’s pretty spot on too. A few parts made me laugh with the underlying shade they threw at her throughout the show. She did a good job portraying how weird and well, psychotic Elizabeth is. In all honesty, I hope she faces a few years in prison for what she did. Not only did she lie to steal from rich old guys, she lied to actual patients who were counting on her to be honest with them. Did she get charged for that? Nope, she only got charged for the money she took. Go figure.

I'd never heard about this woman before I saw the trailer for this movie. I thought it was a fictional story. So when I heard Amanda's voice like that in the trailer I thought: "Why does her voice sound like that? That's not how it use to be." So knowing it's based on a true story makes it make a lot more sense now. 😅

elizabeth holmes faked the deep voice, so it's very important that amanda nail it. and she did!

Amanda nailed this, slowly lowering her tone of voice through Episodes 1-4. Her voice is pretty much normal in Episode 1. By Episode 4, you can notice the difference.

One thing about Amanda Seyfried is you can give her the most paper thin and unimportant role but she will always manage to deliver a solid layered performance. She’s that good. She’s so often burned with the task of elevating a role with performance, I’m glad she’s finally getting meatier roles that actually match her talent.

She may look like her, but surely doesn't sound like her fake dark deep voice

Since Chloe (2009) I knew she is incredibly talented and she's getting better and better each year. As for me her performance in Fathers and daughters was the best, she was heartbreakingly good. She did a great job. You can tell she's a bit awkward in real life, and people often learn to mimic or mask, so this actually is probably not anything radically new to her.

Amanda Seyfried is such an amazing actress. I love her in everything she does and that she appears to have a more down to earth aspect to her. You don't hear about her often, but when you do it is always for some amazing role. Can't wait to see her as that psycho!

yeah honestly I'm uncomfortable with the very specific and targeted hate directed at Holmes. sure she's a snake but there's literally an entire subculture of people just like her.

I love Amanda, and have started to like the series by episode three. However, the first episode was very hard to watch for me, mostly because of how she's modified her behavior and VOICE soo much. It was a bit cringey for me, then I realized this was how Elizabeth sounded/acted like in real life..

Although shes doing a good job I still feel as though Rosamund pike would have absolutely smashed this role

She did not nail the voice at all. It's painfully obvious throughout the serie that it's a put on. When Elizabeth puts on (allegedly) the fake deep voice, it sounds real.

What? Elizabeth’s voice sounds fake af. That’s exactly why her voice made so much noise - it’s so clearly put on lol

I love Amanda in this. And wth, why is that excuse of a person allowed to live life pretty much normally after all the horrible things she did?! Not sure how it works, but a class-action lawsuit seems appropriate.

She's facing a lot of prison time. But until sentencing people can just live their lives, assuming they made bail.

@@LtNOWIS thank you for clarifying. I happened to read her status is, indeed, "on bail." And now that she's been found guilty, sentencing is scheduled for September this year.

Holmes screwed Walgreens/Walgreens customers. She would have been sanctioned if she did it to Amazon.

I loved how seyfried's holmes would nod her head when she was talking. it was so weird it added such a cool touch. she did an excellent job. loved the series.
