Amanda Seyfreid’s Impression of Elizabeth Holmes Is Spot On

Rebecca Jarvis, the journalist whose podcast inspired the new Hulu series “The Dropout,” says Amanda Seyfried nailed the role of Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes - and not just with her signature, deep voice. Two months ago, Holmes was convicted of defrauding investors with wild claims that her company’s blood-testing technology would revolutionize the medical world. She faces up to 20 years in prison. Jarvis says that Holmes is “very much living life” post-conviction, and has been seen out for walks with her partner.

Tbf, it’s partly because of her own doing. She isn’t very Hollywood - she lives in a farm in New York. She doesn’t participate in publicity, just the usual promo rounds whenever she releases a film. She also turns down big Hollywood blockbusters (she was offered Gamora in the MCU) and prefers doing mid to low-budget movies and indies. Not active on social media. She is a recent Oscar nominee though and she’s locked in for an Emmy nomination so she’s finally getting her due.
