Ziz! The problem is that the league mechanic hasn't been linked to streamer-RNG yet. You're just getting the same stuff like the rest of us from the graves currently.
I feel your pain, EVERY craft I've done has turned out worse than trash gear I have found from Act 1.

Same. Im done like 10-15 big - 20-30 good combo/modifiers corpses crafts so far - and the results are super bad - the outcome is so bad - its not even 1-2c gear worth...
Im happy to hear that im not the only person not able to understand this league mechanic, but i hope some one does and put a tutorial because it's not very detailed.. if it's one thing i dislike about GGG Devs it's that they never actually explain any of the league mechanics thoroughly in detail

It was refreshing to see the amount of detail the Last Epoch devs put into detailing what things do and it was accompanied with an in-game glossary. That being said I think their efforts are somewhat wasted as most of my friends still ask me redundant questions and fail to understand how many things work even while knowing about the glossary. Most of the time they're literally not bother to read the tool-tip.
If a very veteran player like Zizaran is struggling with a mechanic the normal players have very little chance.

He's been pretty bad with adapting to new mechanics in the past. His advantage is that its his job, so naturally he can invest more time than most players. But that doesnt apply to new content.

3 tries I crafted with more than 10 corpse, 2 are trash while 1 is still holding up until red maps and 1 wand project still on its way. The crafting is pretty direct but sometimes the results are underwhelming.

Crafting is simple. But everyone underestimete the amount of numbers needed to impact crafting. by numbers I mean tier mods and chance numbers from corpses. They need to go in tho multiple hundreds or thousands.

I'm pretty sure the league mechanic is great if you have the full triple PhD on crafting so you can actually craft pretty deterministically instead of being a casual scrub like me going "more lightning and life and less fire and cold, cool" *zap* "oh, another junk item, cool"

It’s not. You can craft a lot of items go to poe db and just look at the tags. Don’t worry about weighting stuff at the start

It's so far a trade-only crafting system, since you could only hold 64 corpses and the result of the craft is hardly deterministic, specifically for the item base. Most of the outcome from this craft could hardly go for mirror tier, which is the purpose of having expensive crafting sessions in trade league. The outcome of the crafting thus far, only benefits the transitional gears before you could purchase your big mirror item, yet the effort you need to put in (assembling all corpses) far exceeds what it could produce compared to other methods. There are a few interesting mods out there, for example crafting a tier 3 talisman with certain desired stats. But beside those, the whole system is very underwhelming thus far.
My first league was Harbinger. I enjoyed it. I have played on and off since then. Most league mechanics are so convoluted to my small brain I decided that everything I get is either good luck or bad luck. I don't look to crafting in this game to bring me anything. Making a plus 1 wand is the extent of my intelligence. I have never been able to craft a six link. I usually purchase a tabula somewhere along the way. Every time Tane pops up on a map I laugh and usually tell him to get lost. When Einhar pops up in the Crossroads I tell him to have a nice day and hey, take those electric minions with you. I'm enjoying my exsanguinate playthrough; I have no idea what that undertaker fellow wants; he has a nice wheelbarrow. I know I'm a completely different kind of player but we exist - we usually exhaust our enjoyment at around level 86 and wait for the next league to pique our interest. I'm sure you'll figure all of this out eventually - but we probably won't stick around for your 1 hour explanation video and pdf manual of how the grave sites work. I enjoy your content; extremely glad builds are now maxroll. Cheers.

I normally do 40/40 in all leagues, but in a way feel exactly like you. I dont like crafting, i just like grabbing currency and buying from trade. TBH crafting leagues are the worst for me, and this one coming after (in my opinion) the best loot explosion league ever is a bit harsh.

@@kazetag.3177 I usually go for 38/40 or whatever it is to get the full mtx set and my crafting caps out at essence slam on a fractured item. Anything better is obtained from trade ,because I can get exactly what I want very fast. I can see that changing with the way maxroll introduced written step by step crafting manuals that are all in one place and I don't have to search a recipe on reddit or a 20 minute youtube video. Hopefully, when stuff is figured out, there will be a page with common values required for specific mods to appear on an item. Otherwise it's a waste of time really. As it's always been, it's better to just play the game and get currency than sit there and figure out how to craft an item yourself for cheaper. I can see myself trying out grave crafting once and depending on the outcome, most likely shit, I'll never interact with it again and be done with the league once I complete my challenges.

100% agree and I've been playing on and off since the alpha. Crafting is boring. Most league mechanics are boring. I just tend to re-roll characters again and again doing different builds. I even fid maps tiresome, I'd just prefer increasing difficulty on campaign runs.

I am very impressed hearing you got for the first time during league start an unique from Hillock. I already felt lucky but now I even feel more lucky. I got a Tabula from Hillock at this league start and have only over 500h.
The acts have changed quite a bit with so many of the extra content now available while leveling. I would like to see a video on that, I'll finally have time to play next week :)
grim put out a first video about crafting explaining simple bodies without going into complicated ones and it kinda seems insane tbh , u can prety much craft anything u want with tiers 1-2 as long as u invest alot into it

I managed to find a Stygian Spire when using the Abyss mob Allflame Ember. Seems like some of the really neat encounters might be rare boss mobs from the embers.

day one on my third t1 map i hit the diviner 1% chance and pulled 9 divs out of a map, then again this morning on a t3 happened again pulled another 6 divs out of a T3!! Love that part of the mechanic lol

as soon as i first saw how the league mechanic worked i knew i wouldnt interact much with it, and so far i made move speed boots, thats it
The campaign changes are very fun but the forced extra mods on mobs make it really un-fun for the first few acts

After watching Grimro it started making sense a little bit more. Scope of how big modifiers from corpses need to be changed as well. Basically all of the 25-50 to tier corpses are useless if aim is mid-end game crafting. 1000 or so to tier for multiple mods will take a lot of space :D And poedb/craftofexile is a must for weight calculations. Welcome to the rice fields... I mean spreadsheets.
Grim has an incredible, video on the league mechanic for those with questions.
When I got to the point that I had to cremate I went and put every thing that made sense into trying to make a body armor with resist and life. I ended up with a four mod rare that had two single digit resists and a little life regen or something. So I got pickier about what I sent to the morgue and only grabbed stuff that made sense for making a tri-ele bow. When I got to maps I put nearly sixty corpses in and got a decent starter bow for maps. If essences weren't such a pain I would have just gone that route. I might try making another bow but without being able to control the base type I don't know if that'll actually be worth doing.
One quick thing to point out; it is considered that veiled scarab drop rates are not a good way to know what scarab drop rates are. For 2 reasons mainly, they may just not (and most likely don't) have the same drop rate and you can make rare scarabs more likely on the tree.

Those vendor scenarios are also weighted differently than drops
I was able to make a bow and 2 quivers(that got added fire damage) that were good enough to sell for 2 chaos each... Not much but I was still on the campaign, so it's good
i had a divine drop at level 42 and the chaos from that has made for my best league start so far
On Fairgraves map i found Booty Chest too . That something new i think
I kinda get it now. So you have to go to craft of exile and use a ton of corpses to eliminate the lowest modifiers. I did some testing. I don't entirely understand it, yet.

I know for me ive kind of gotten lucky on hitting axe crafts for my cyclone build i decided to start with friends but when crafting wands for my main build even after dumping like 7 graves into cold and caster modifiers i get a minion wand with 10% chance to freeze i personally dont mind the mechanic just will take time to learn it and stuff. I personally dont mind the step down from having those asendancies and stuff because well thats whats supposed to happen and honestly i never did the ascendancies lol i think the highest i got in any of there trees was the 2nd unlock and even than i just didnt like the mechanic so i avoided it like the plague
The weirdest thing about this league mechanic to me is it's not as good as any other league crafting system that's already in the game, weird we will see how they adjusted it.
Same thing for me. Love the new changes to the campaign. Finding the secret rooms outside of lab was fun. The league mechanic is garbagio. Too complicated for a small old brain. I haven't made anything in the necropolis. Everything is found or crafted so far.
I feel like you need add the +1 explicit to the craft so item can more slot to roll mods. I add like 800% life modifiers , it gave me to t1 life regen and no other life related modifiers
I loaded up all my phys and fire corpses into a sword with 30 qual 5 link and got an absolutely nutty sword to start maps with. I don't know what "burial patterns" the league guy is talking about but I bet once people figure that out there will be some nice crafts.
Any suggestions for a build guide for a fire caster???
GGG: I will give you a 300% crit multipliyer in the mobs as a downside. As an upside if it was going to drop an armour it may drop a jeweler orb :D

I love PoE, been playing it since back before we even had Dominus, but I gotta say after playing other games, the overly complex convoluted nature of PoE just makes me want to nope the fuck out. I shouldn't require a degree in analytics just to figure out a crafting system!

Yeah I will never grind enough or learn enough to do anything fancier than like essence clam high ilvl things and then bench craft what's missing It sucks bc I want to play ssf so I never have to think about trading, but I am waaaay too 0head for that

My only advice is follow a build guide and learn a little each season. I felt the same way too but league after league I learn something new each time. It's definitely complicated

The problem with this attitude is we see what the opposite design gets you in other ARPGs: a disposable game that people get bored of very quickly and never touch again. I think PoE's biggest issue is bad balance and "cruft", not complexity which is fine and indeed its whole appeal.

With Necropolis crafting, increasing your chance for specific modifiers is not enough. You also want to be making undesirable mods scarcer to reduce their weighting.
Its a weird experience, most of the time you get nothing, but then during campaign I crafted T1 life and ele mods on boots in a level 50 item, mostly by just spamming everything that said more and higher Life and Ele mods.
Im not that thrilled with a mechanic thats either bad or too difficult to undertand to make use off early/mid game

I like the league but not a fan of forced phys as extra mods on my first white map lol. Made it a little much. I also haven't seen a big payoff from the added mods yet and the crafting so far just gave me more bad rares
How do you get worst crafting then harvest
Balancing arpgs around parties is one of the stupidest things they can do, if i wanted content that requires grouping id play mmos
The only use I found for grave crafting was spam crafting the entire thing one at a time aiming for a specific basetype that didnt care about its level. It took 20 minutes and did drop one of the basetype, but still didnt feel worth my time.

The graveyard just needs to be figured out. No concerns on that side. The monster mods is the reinvented Archnemesis which I am concerned is here to stay.

It's already been figured out, watch grimros video. Its counterintuitive as hell but even that aside, theres absolutely no point. Why spend hours finding and collecting all the right corpses and crafting a mid item when you can just farm up 5 divines in 5 hours and buy it yourself anyways?

@@DeedlyDood It certainly takes longer than 1 hour to collect 64 corpses of wanted modifiers to create the best possible item. In that time taken you could just farm up a couple divines and outright buy the item. Thats what I meant, the 5 hour thing is a slight exaggeration.

You guys are focused on the wrong issue imo. The monster mods are the problem. This is their second try at Archnemesis and we are all focused on the graveyard crafting...
I buried corpses that were useless to me 1 at a time to act as an Alch and it really felt like they were heavily biased towards having bad tiered affixes.
I made a decent like 410edps bow early
I made a lot of stuuff that was useful in part 1 of campaign and then after that I couldn't make anything good. I wasn't sure if it was because i just didn't know enough about crafting, but now i think it is because the RNG is too varied. They need more ways to get specific modifiers on items or a stronger pool.
I found an area that had a bunch of gems laying on the ground, can't remember where it was though.

I think they need to make the item base corpse more common. Feels bad to craft anything w/o it since you're very likely to end up with a bad item base.
For me, there's a noticeable reduction in drop rate of unique gear. I don't think I've ever made it to act 7 before without getting one. I did get an enhanced support gem drop though.
I got "craft's a minion wand" corpse, so I made a +1 to all fire skill gems, 100% minion damage, yada yada wand off my second craft at like 70, wasn't bad. I just kinda slammed a bunch of random stuff though, still don't know what I'm doing really... Mostly just because my morgue fills up.
might be a dumb questions but ziz said hes farming gravicious on transport and he got a taste of hate. my cheat sheet says gravicious on transport gives stacks of div cards. did he get the full stack of div cards or does gravicious drop uniques?
the campaign problem can at least be mended a little bit if they gave you the map fully revealed after completing it the first time.
What it should do is give you a summary of what your going for when you select the craft. I have no idea other than I put a bunch of rando stuff in there that says "way more likely to have life". What does that mean? I don't know.
This league was the most exciting campaign in a while for me
It is my second league. I've neglected reading update notes and ended up filling up every single grave I could with the intent of making room for more corpses since it was full. I went back to leveling only to find out I should have crafted stuff before leaving Necropolis graveyard. Not a big deal since mostly were
I found a hidden room around prision but dont think there was much loot there and i dont think it was silver flasks.
Is it me or did they add more dialog? When I first met Einhar in the field he talked more, telling me about himself and his goals.
I hit the %1 chance to drop divines mod, got 4 from that map. Also scarab explosions are in the mechanic as well. The all flames are very juicy also but pretty rippy. Honestly feels like another juicing league disguised as a crafting league

So are there any builds in this league that DONT use a bow? Cause I do not want to play an archer/bow user but it seems like the only builds that are out are different “arrow” builds (like explosive and lightning arrow)

The crafting so far for me, isn't good at all. Have to run 100's of maps to get modifiers with the 64 limit doesn't feel good,For example trying to craft some boots, end up with like 1200% chance of speed affix's for boots and it doesn't roll movespeed, had 300% chance of chaos modifers, no chaos res. Literally useless so far in my opinion.

i was the same. "Oh i'll put this mod on here and this one and ok 200% life mods GREAT!!!" item comes out with 4 life regen 8 man and 12 energy shield..... like wtf!

The only "cool" thing to happen for me so far was a +50% pack size with +50% Pack Size Devotion that I then slapped a Sulfite Allflame onto it to get like 20k Sulfite in a single map.
How i disable grave mode from map i want run map without this maps kill me evrey time this so hard now

This league is a bit frustrating. The crafting is too confusing for me to grasp it but I can’t even opt out of the increased difficulty of maps.

There's nothing confusing about it just needs a buff to the chance modifiers actually get applied AND also an increase in the quality of the modifiers rolled. It's "confusing" at the moment becaus epeople are using up corpses and rarely having them work just due to broken RNG. There's entirely too much trash dropping to make the mechanic worth doing. Increase the frequency of big haunted bosses as well the league mechanic is not really coming into play as often as other mechanics did in the past. They need to do this ASAP or the player count will fall off a cliff.
I made one almost god roll weapon for my rf chief with the league mechanic, but the +1 to gems for lightning gems even tho i put like 400% no lightning modifications

I, honestly, feel that grave crafting isn't that complex, just annoying you need Craft of Exile to do so. I don't mind opening it personally, but I can see other people disliking it. The reason I don't see it as complex is because it follows simple rules. 1. Increased Chance and Scarcer make things more or less likely 2. Increased Tier Rating makes things less likely but better 3. Other stuff for funzies Craft of Exile comes in when I need to see if an item has caster modifiers. Chest piece doesn't have caster mods? Don't put corpes in. To make a chest piece I want 1. Life, Mana, and Resistances more likely : Other stuff less likely 2. Life, Mana, and Resistance tiers to make better : Other stuff tiers to make even less likely 3. I want int dex armor and all the sockets and links Congrats, I make a chest piece. If I want to be better, then I look up break point sheets and all that Jazz but I feel that looking at what I said above and saying that is complex is for people who look up break point spreadsheets and say "Too much for me" when you went to complex spreadsheets first instead of starting out simple.

Bases are random. It's too slow. Chances aren't guaranteed. 99.9% chance to get garbage after farming 60 corpses. It's a miss. Rog and beast are better

@@utmastuh Even fossil crafting is better because you get to choose the base and you can guarantee mods. You can make lightning mods 1000% more likely and still not get a lightning mod with this system.

The moment you mentioned needing Craft of Exile, it fails as a league mechanic entirely. I looked up some tips and you're still not guarenteed to get even a half decent item though, so after all that extra work on an external website, i am still subject to RNG, and my RNG is cursed to hell. If i need an entirely cemetery full of corpses just to make 1 good item, they've lost the plot. Ain't nobody got time for that

i got an extremely mid bow from the nerco whilst levelling, which was enough to carry me because its a bow. but since then, the necro has been utter shit.. even with a bunch of 500% lightning, adjacent mods 50% increase, and got fuck all. Plus clicking 50 graves each time is tedious as fuck
My thing has been, blast zones and every act change go spend 10 minutes crafting random pieces of gear I need.
Pllaying lightning arrow, 4 week new player. Lvl 63 atm. But what are the odds of getting 2 unique quivers in same act map, 1 min apart lol

I like the allflame embers and I can see the potential in the lanter mechanic, but the crafting seems dog. Did half a yard of corpses trying to craft an ele bow, lots of diffrent corpses buffing ele nodes, speed nodes and shit, got a thicet with t3 cold dmg and no attack speed lmao

Crafting is fine ... for wands, maybe amulets. For anything that has too many options like body armour? meeeh? Now, onwards!
I looked at my wife today, before seeing this video, and said simply..."I dont get it." It's not that I dont get the system, I do. I just dont get why anyone would see it as enjoyable. I am enjoying the old league mechanics being available early more than I am the new mech. Paired with not getting the beta after this league like I had been expecting for a long while now, and I find myself quite disappointed.

You've had exactly the same experience I've had. No idea how it works and just get useless items.
I don't think the league mechanics is complicated. It's just that you can't get anything you want from it. And it's super annoying when the loot panel pops up in the middle of a fight.
I haven't started yet (haven't had time) but a few of my diehard, dedicated POE friends have already quit.......

@@Mehiel-Sanctoria yeah I tend to agree. I don't know enough about the league yet to pass any sort of judgement. Haven't had a chance to talk at length with them yet as my current work/project times are their exact play times.

Far as crafting goes , I have been getting mostly stuff thats not that good tbh . I haven't got any uniques at all either. League is cool though so far

I am not sure what to think about this new league.
My biggest problem with this league is that it’s just making an even bigger gap between those can craft and those who can’t/don’t like or want too.
For those that may have missed it like ziz potentially they did say more campaign stuff is coming so more league mechanics are making there way along with other things over the next few leagues

it's not complicated. increase chance/tier for what you want, add scarcity towards what you don't, that's it. it's staggeringly simple. it's just terribly balanced. them allowing you to put in 80 some aught corpses means it's balanced around that, so you need probably 40 or so to reliably get anything better than what you can buy for 5c. i've got about 30 buried at the moment and that's taken me roughly the entire atlas map bonus objective collection to get, partially because the stupid 64 corpse limit means i can only really run one craft at a time and will be collecting nothing for any other crafts along the way since i simply lack the space to do so without the mechanic becoming laborious.

I don't get it, only the corpses buried next to the one you're exorcizing affect the craft, why would it matter if the rest of the graveyard is full? Are you sure?

@@Mehiel-Sanctoria the effect of corpses chain to connected corpses. when you hover over a grave it makes a highlight on the graves it considers "adjacent". if an "adjacent grave" is itself adjacent to another filled grave, it counts that too. they chain. the highlight confirms this but you can just set four corpses in a row and see that the resulting craft consumes all four no matter what grave you actually click "craft" on. you can also fill graves while the old man is making a previous item but the UI is kinda buggy when doing this and graves won't highlight anymore but it works.
