I think sensors in general, including enneagram 8 sensors, have a hard time appreciating theory based information, however, intuitive 8 types like myself don't mind it.

Agreed. My Dad is an INTJ 8w7, and he is very intellectual, however he does prefer to use theoretical information in some practical way.

My dad is an 8 and probably an unhealthy one. Everyone at his work place thinks he's a dick but he hasn't been fired yet because he's the best worker they got. But for example, when someone needs him to repair something, he'll repair it and repair really well but he'll also heavily insult the person and get angry at them.

I can't see Trump being ENTJ. Most people have him as ESTP, but I could see him being 8w7 ESTJ. "Make America Great Again" is a very past oriented slogan that I wouldn't even consider using because it's not progressive enough. By the way, I seriously do believe that ESTJs can be every bit as hot-headed and aggressive as ENTJs. Also, I wouldn't call Donald Trump innovative when it comes to the way he does business. Where do you see the introverted intuition in him?

I wouldn’t try to type someone based on single instances of things they say because analyzing a single thing usually goes both ways until you put them into context with other things in their actions. Trump is a very shallow person and that’s not an Si thing. Si people tend to be very formal and have a sense of duty for being conservative and well mannered. Look at his wife! Look at the way he came up with the idea of building a huge wall to prevent sources of Se chaos from coming in. He does not come up with the most well thought out plans first because he is not Si! Ni normally works as a sort of umbrella option that covers a general area that includes the solution to a problem PRIMARILY when operating with Te rather than with Ti. Te with Si tends to solve things with procedures that can reduce the need to use Ne. In short, he’s constantly trying to avoid Se assess a situation in deep detail because that sense of data chaos is not their forte. So he comes out with his “brilliant” solutions to things that will make America seem tame and in control again. That’s what make America great again was actually about. Do you see what I’m saying?

do yout think that Fours tend to like or be fascinated by Eight while they still feel that Eights are really intimidating? I'm 4w5 and as much as I like being a Four, I always kinda wanted to be an Eight. I guess what I'd like to know is if this tends to happen a lot or it's just me :D

I think maybe on some level we all want to be EIGHTS. LOL. Even me! I think that EIGHTS make life look so easy ya know? Because for the most part they just make life work for them and they appear to be so in control. It's easy to be jealous of that I think. It's easy for anybody to feel like they lack that. I find myself gravitating towards EIGHTS for that reason. It's like they fill this place in me that I wasn't strong enough to fill myself.

I am a 4w3 and 5 depending... I love 8's ❤️❤️❤️ majority of my closest friends are 8's, we get each other, we tend to have a deep love, the good is real good but the bad😳. We don't back down. If no love is there, I don't continue the relationship. We both don't like to be controlled, so the best thing in our relationships is to let each other be. I have to withdrawal often though from my 8 female relationships. I've defended many of my 8 friends and the definitely grew our bonds and they have protected me❤️. I love that personality type.

Interesting. I once told an eight superior that I was uncomfortable with the dynamic between us and she told me that really hurt her because she had done nothing but be supportive and encouraging to me... so there's that. A bit of a stumper.

  • @jennywawa88

Unquestionably an 8. For many reasons. Too many to type in a common on a thread. He's 8w7 ESTP to be specific. Basically, Donald Trump is much more attuned to and skilled in taking action and initiating change (even if it's not necessarily good or helpful action...). He does it without weighing in on the thoughts of those who will be observing him. He has a, "this is hoe it's going to be, and if you don't like it, you can kiss my ass!" mentality, which is 10,000% 8 over 3. To give you a specific example, I was reading in a news article today that Donald Trump has recently decided not make use of what are called "trial balloons" which are in essences periods where congress will release information about a law that they'd like to pass in the future and they observe the public reaction to those ideas. The reactions that they receive from the public then help them to gauge whether or not that law is something that should be pursued. Trump has decided to do away with that process. So in other words, this is another example of his "My way or the highway" mentality. A 3 would be very dependent on trial balloons because they would serve as functional tools for the 3 to get a gauge about where their popularity rate may be if they were publically come out as supporting that law or idea. They would want that information first so that they could make sure they can continue to build the public image that they want. And Trump gives zero fucks about public image. Here is a link to the article if you'd like to read more... www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/no-trial-balloons-trump-flips-script-with-startling-ideas/ar-BBAFtMS?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartanntp
