I have a number of suggestions of bands to check out: Kamelot, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Amaranthe, Gemini Syndrome, Fire From the Gods, Lost Zone, Black veil brides, In this moment, in flames, 5 finger death punch, etc. I'll send more later. Lol

Completely agree with the 3 Disturbed recommendations Hold on to Memories, If I Lose my Faith in You and The Light are epic for different reasons. But for the last 2 years (that's when I saw your reaction to SoS) the last thing you said in your reaction was to 'live with passion' so I would suggest start with The Light. The passion & power in David Dramon's voice & message in that song is electrifying!!

Try looking at the full version of this, the official video is radio friendly when the full song certainly isn’t. If you do then consider they’re referring to the mother society, you’ll see what I mean.....

David Dramin and Disturbed’s cover of “Sound of Silence” was an outlier. This is more their venue. I’m 73 and I still love my metal. I think one reason one finds”Metal heads” to be of higher intelligence is that one needs to be able to process the complexity of the music typical of the genre. It demands more of the listener. Country Western requires nothing from the listener, with the music normally based on only four chords and the lyrics seldom digging any deeper than the heartbreak of love gone wrong and getting drunk. Pop music isn’t much deeper with some notable exceptions. May I suggest two of my favorites, Disturbed “Who Taught You to Hate” and Five Finger Death Punch “Remember Everything.”

And by the way... "Remember" and "Prayer" are both extremely more complex lyrically then regular hate songs!

Please look for NYMPHETAMINE FIX by Cradle of Filth. And you will DEFINITELY be surprised!!! ...However, do not look at any other song by Cradle of Filth. Unless you want to hear non-understandable growling and nothing else at all in the whole song, like Death Metal. "Nymphetamine Fix" is Cradle of Filth's only good song. But it's also the absolute best possible example of the type of metal I am trying to show you. (And by "type", audience, I am referring to what other people would start with Amy or Tar[]a, and I am not instead referring to Disney Film titles nor to any genres that are related to Death Metal or Ext Metal.)

To be fair it is also completely different than "The Sound of Music". lol

Is this the lowest quality Disturbed video ever???

Metalheads are just as smart (or dumb) as any other person. But, they tend to be very nice. Might look aggresiv and intimidating, but generally they are big teddybears. Alot, If not most, uses the music as an outlet for emotions. Aggression, anxiety, all that. Which basicly makes us (I am a metalhead myself) not have those peng up feelings that so many others have. I can promis you, if you ever go to a metal show, you will know exacly what I meen.
