The resurgence of Womens volleyball in the PH began with the 2000 Grand Prix WV tournament held in Quezon city.. with the darling of the crowd Brazilian superstar Leila Barros.. the tournament played for PBA finals full capacity crowds.. the Filipinos were mesmerized by tall beautiful women players from different countries.. from that time on.. PH WV grew to immense popularity to what it is today.. even besting PBA live audience attendance. Alyssa Valdez is and will always be the Face of PH WV.. Coach Roger Gorayeb's dream is now history..
