"Their songs are sort of cloud-parting and could be put on at any time. It transports you to this happy place." I say the same thing about Alvvays!

If you dig that, might I recommend looking into Jeanette's discog. Spanish artist that's perhaps not as Mod as Margo, but a pretty similar vibe overall. Romantic balladry, soft vocals, great orchestral instrumentation; its certainly a vibe regardless :)

It should have probably left 2 songs out of the record and not get too crazy with the coke in order to not overextend with pointless jams and arrangements great songs like All around the world. Something similar happened with the second Stone Roses album. But now some people say that if Be Here now would have included some of the B sides that they included in The Masterplan that then it would have been the third consecutive classic album by Oasis
I admire their fidelity to Canadian music…and to the tradition of Canadian humour 🇨🇦😆
Be Here Now is such a solid album. Fade In-Out one of my favorite Oasis songs of all time

I'm easily old enough to be their father, but I think Alvvays is a great band, and I'm really glad to see they have such great [which is to say kinda old school] taste. And hey - go Leafs go.

Man every time I watch one of these videos I am reminded as a music junkie how much depth I lack in taste from a classic music standpoint. 😂😂 also, as for Alvvays, In Undertow is an amazing song.
She has such a great voice. Awesome band.
I love Alvvays, I started listening to them like in 2015 and they have been one of my favorite bands ever since. I love their sound and their whole aesthetic as a band. Their songs are so catchy and filled with nostalgia. My favorite song is "Party Police", i think its one of those perfect songs structurally and sonically. I love the structure because its so simple, I like simple songs, and lot of Alvvay's music is simple like that. Molly's vocals are so blissful to listen to, she has a very young and childish style of singing which i very much enjoy.

party police it's such a pretty song!!!
they’re such amazing people, i’ve had to the luck of meeting them and seeing them 3 times in 2022 and i’ll be seeing them 4 times this year :)
I remember watching wallows do what’s in their bag and alvvays was one of the bands featured and are now one of my favorite artists. I guess it’s nice coming full circle and seeing them do this now
It is ALVVAYS great seeing them.
Edifice, haughty, ruddy; that guy has some vocabulary.
Love Alvvays, love this piece, but was so ready for Alec to say, "see what Schnabel has to bring to the table."
Though I like them all and have been on board since '95 Be Here Now has always been my favorite Oasis record. There are dozens of us!
Blue Rev was my favorite album of 2022.
Absolute gems from a band I love so much, thank you very much Amoeba
Damn I'm in that Amoeba all the time! that would be nice to bump into Molly and Alec randomly lol
I love this band ❤️ can't wait to see them in Primavera Sound
Super excited to see them this year!
I attended their gig in Singapore and they started the show with the intro of Enya's 'The River Sings'. You can tell how much Alec adores her music!

hi fellow singaporean alvvays fan
My favorite band since 2015. A nice bunch too
Pretty sweet episode here with some of my all-time favorite bands. And that’s the best Who album ever, of course. 👏🏻👏🏻🏆
"Jesus of Cool" was renamed "Pure Pop for Now People" for the U.S. audience. I actually like the latter name better, it is definitely more descriptive of the album's music. After listening to "Blue Rev" a thousand times, I'm shocked that they didn't pick out a Smiths album.
I’m glad you guys mentioned Endless Wire. That is my favorite Lightfoot album by far, and one of my favorites overall! Great taste!
i love this band so much. Anything they sign off on, i'll give it a try!
The critical rexamination of 'Be Here Now' has arrived, and I am HERE for it... d'you know what I mean??
Always Alvvays. Just saw them last night (3 March 23) in Montreal. Lovely.
Great to see you guys in digital media again 🎉❤️
Be Here Now reminds me of Blue Rev in some ways. The third album of both bands. In both cases, compared to previous releases, more washy sounding backing guitars and vocals that are difficult to make out.
'be here now' came out just at the right time. good times, good days.
Using Velveteen for the credits >>> Such an informative little video on their tastes! Alvvays forever 💯
Be Here Now is a terrific rock album if you don't try too hard to overanalyze it. Appreciate that you could put THAT many guitar tracks onto an album from a pure standpoint of human feat.

Agreed. Just like... enjoy it for what it is and just have fun with it. That's my response to anyone who feels they have a 'scathing take' on Oasis lol.
Impeccable taste, especially Margo Guryan and Judy C!
She knows that "Be Here Now" was slept on by the rest of the world outside of the UK. Great album.
I love "Be Here Now"... very underrated album
Bend Sinister, yes! My favourite Fall album.
I recently found this band and I really liked their songs.
My favorite Oasis album. Bought this first and then checked earlier catalogue
Nice selections. The Byrds, Who and the unsurpassed Fall.
I love Blue Rev. The band get even more kudos from me for saying Be Here Now is great 👍🏻
Who else saw the Watery Domestic EP chillin in Alec’s stack near the end?
Been waiting for them to do this, can’t wait to watch this after work, gahd dahmn
esto es increible. ESPERO QUE esto nunca se acabe
Love Martin Newell & Cleaners! Great taste Molly!
Hell yes, been waiting for this one!
eu amo eles! vou ouvir todos esses álbuns, admiro esses dois demais.
The Who Sells Out is a classic!! Some funny tracks. And some seriously awesome rock tracks.
I had a bunch of bootlegs of Oasis at the Roseland Ballroom from 1997 during the Be Here Now Tour. Tthe wall of guitar, the vocals...you could feel the cocaine through your earphones...butloved it and still do. It was overhyped, over the top, but utterly amazing.
Lovely folks! I met these two post gig in 2014 when they toured Britain. I had a lovely chat with them and Kerry in Cambridge. I definitely love Enya,The Fall and The Byrds, however i never got Oasis whatsoever. But I’ll park that one and concentrate on Alvvays as a band.
Nice to see them select several of my favorites (The Who, Byrds, Fall, Margo Guryan) but wow, Molly knows Martin Newell!! If she doesn't already have it, she needs The Greatest Living Englishman on LP.
Could watch this all day
Great taste in music! I will be looking out for their music
I wish more people showed used/bargain bin records on this series. Amoeba should have a used spin-off of "What's in my Bag"
God, I've been waiting for this for so long :')
Martin Newell, TV Personalities and the Fall! those are 3 AMAZING picks. Guess I'll go listen to what this band Alvvays sounds like now. Never heard of them till now but I am optemistic

Love this band. Seen you in Antwerp a couple of years ago live.
I just finished watching their KEXP set. Wasn’t expecting to also see them here.
I saw the Fall in concert in 1982. Great band, they were very prolific in their music output.. Mark E Smith was a good frontman for the band.

Such a great band, and great picks too. After another full year of wonderful music, “Blue Rev” is still my fave of 2022. Bravo you guys.
This video introduced me to this band, and now they are one of my favorites lol

Yoooooo!! They've got Alvvays 🥰
thanks for the samples you guys 🖤
That Lightfoot album is magic!
For “Be Here Now”, I’M MAD FOR IT!!
Immediately wanna check this band out for buying a Margo Guryan album!
Jesus... Margo Guryan and Martin Newell right off the bat. No wonder I love this band, we have the same influences.
Old enough to have had " pure pop for now people" original LP played on my BIC turntable through a Panasonic stereo system at the parties.. Nick Lowe wrote a bunch of great power pop songs
Damnnn Alvvays. Grew up listening to this group
Love Gordon Lightfoot, Judith Collins, Celine Dion, the Byrds, and Enya. Good picks
oh wow, i downloaded a byrds record out of nowhere last month cause i liked the pedal steel. need to listen to more, thank u for the validation moz
top choice on Be Here Now, "Girl in the Dirty Shirt" is so lovely.
Be Here Now got me into Oasis and I haven't looked back
My god!! Molly is so beautiful, Im in love with her!

All good stuff and what I think I should have expected from Alvvays. They alvvays come through.

Molly is 100% right about Be Here Now. The first four Oasis albums, including The Masterplan, are all near perfect.
They're on another level
Love that they buy records the way I do, taking wild chances, buying an album you only know one song off, getting a CD without even having a CD player. I feel very seen here by a band I love.
I love you Molly!!!
Guitar of so much indie Canadian music is indebted to The Byrds @ 7:09 great to see Alvvays acknowledge
