That hot start options would really help me out this morning. In school currently doing a welding course and I have to redo a vertical uphill 3F 1/4 inch alu exam tee joint. Testing the penetration on a single bead pass. Ugh wish me luck 🍀

I have a tire shop here in Atlanta. I do bent rim repair and would like to start welding cracks in cast aluminum wheels. I would prefer MIG. Something that runs on 120 but I don't think that's strong enough for thick cast aluminum (spoke side ot the wheel). Can a MIG welder handle the task? If so what do you recommend on a budget for a beginner?

You Should only Brush in one direction. your just folding that oxide into the base metal when you brush both ways.

@@halstoolroom5985 Do you mean negative ground? My old miller CP250-TS is set up for negative ground. Seems to work ok as I just built a steel trailer.
