Hey, Frank. Can you believe that he lived kind of hidden in my town helped by common friends? Everybody in the country got surprised with the news about his death because nobody knew where he was. We were practically neighbors and I had no f**king clue!!!! Even a close coworker of mine was one of those who helped him. She was the one his wife called when she found him "sleeping" on the couch.

Boa Silvio! Hey @frank, in this part: "the movement of traffic" hes hidding something of the police, some times he sings: Tráfego=Traffic (Cars etc) and other times he sings: Tráfico (Drug dealing)

U know, bc of dictatorship at this decade. The MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) had theyr lyrics analyzed by the police. Thats why he talks that way in his songs, metaphorically!

Also, in this part he says: "Fulfilling your hard duty" and when he sings live or after the 80s he singed: "Fulfilling your damn duty" He switches "Duro Dever" for "Maldito dever" bc when recording the album u could't say such a thing about the police hahahah

Belchior is very great. I recommend "Velha Roupa Colorida" from him sung by Elis Regina.

Belchior é pura poesia. Entender Belchior é mais do que saber a língua portuguesa, é entender de filosofia , literatura e artes plásticas, pois ele era também um grande pintor . Era um erudito.

" ... A minha alucinação é suportar o dia a dia. E o meu delírio é a experiência com coisas reais.." "... Amar e mudar as coisas me interessa mais..." Essa música merece uma reflexão a cada verso. Um verdadeiro clássico. Belchior viveu de forma genuína tudo o que compôs, com suas dores e delícias. Grande poeta eternizado!

Hello, Frank. This is my favourite Belchior song. Great reaction and comments. I recommend you to react to Noel Rosa who is one of the big names in Brazilian popular music. He was a master of samba, and he died so young, with only 26 years old, in 1937. He has writed more than 200 songs in that small carrer, and many of them are truly masterpieces of our music. You can find most of his stuff interpretated by artists of his time and nowadays; but there is some rare recordings by himself singing some of his songs. Big Hug, love your videos ✌🏾
