Hey, really good comparisons, thanks for the video! I think I'm going to get my first pair of Altras after Topo narrowed the mid foot of the Terraventura so it's too tight for me. I was wondering if you could give me your opinion on which pair has the best heel lock? I have slightly bandy legs and find my heel can slip off the inside if there's not much heel cup support to keep it in there. Thanks in advance and love the vudeos

Hey, thanks! That's a tough question to answer! I find they all offer a good heel lock and it's only the Mont Blanc Carbon that I need the extra eyelets for the runner's knot. I have fairly normal width feet, so the LP does feel somewhat loose, but nothing crazy. There's a range of lace tying techniques that can help if you still find your heels slipping too much.

i don't like shocking vids and i know u are a solid lad but if your titles keep not being click baity i'm beginning to think that altra gave up trying to garner my long spent passion and attention.

just picked up some lone peak 8s for £87 hope they work out

Just ordered my Mont Blanc Carbon for 185 eur already discounted by the store to 205 and applied another discount code, eager to test them and break some PRs, I hope they last at least as long as the regular Mont Blanc, and it seems the Vibram rubber layer is more generous on these, which is good, the only complaint so to speak is the upper, that is not good at all for when it rains, it's not quick dry at all and the shoes all of a sudden become to feel heavy, and, while pretty durable, it feels kinda weak, God forbid to hit a branch or something hard, that could mean good bye for it...other than that, it should be the perfect running shoe for all surfaces, all distances ( but not all weather yet. ..)

I wish they’d use the tongue from the Lone Peak in the Superior. That’s what keeps me from buying the Superior again. I love my LPs but sometimes I just want something less.

Yeah, I'm kinda unsure why Altra is clinging onto the burrito wrap tongue, but I guess they don't want to change it too much, because old school fans might dislike too much change 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tell Altra to make their shoes deeper - they are to shallow!

That would be the toe box only and in some models like the Timp 5 and the Superior

It's almost impossible not to run in mud where I live 😅 it rains a lot during the winter 🥲 very hard to keep my shoes clean 😅
