    Very interesting, James.👍 Appreciated the measures of the widht of your feet. No one would have done it. It gives a precious informations This is the reasons you are the best tester. You test the shoes and give a lot of informations that other testers don't give us. Thanks a lot. 👍💪

    Great comparison James. Good to have a heads up about the Boa as someone with wide feet. I may well give the mont blanc a go at some point.

    You should use different socks of better quality. You are correct with the Boa system- I love the system but the quality of the technical system on these shoes is not really good. I liked your comment and also the final results

    The 10 came and they fit much better, but after I started running outside I noticed the dreaded heal slip. I removed the insoles and they feel much better. I just need to find some very thin insoles them running.

    Sorry to hear it didn’t work out! I think the Boa cables are replaceable right? I wonder if you could get a longer cable from Boa and thread it through the bottom eyelets?

    Thank you so much for the videos! I'm new to Altra and have a few questions if you don't mind answering! I wear a Hoka 2E Width US 9.5 (I measured my foot width like you and they're just over 11cm width. For my Nike Alphafly i had to go up to a US 10 because I couldn't get my feet in! I'm really interested in the Mont Blancs and Lone Peaks. I've looked through the comments and seen that people stay TTS or go down 0.5 size. Judging by your video above I'm guessing the Mont Blanc Boa probably won't work? I was kindly wondering, do you have any recommendations as to what sizing I would be for Lone peaks, Normal Mont Blancs and whether the Boa would work for me or not? Thanks heaps.

  • @movemorenowjames

    @movemorenowjames

    If there’s some decent room at the end , say almost a thumb, with the HOKA in a us 9.5 then go for a us 9 in both the Mont Blanc and the lone peak. I had to go down half a size in both of those, especially for the LP 6 …. I would give the boa a miss and stick with the normal MB, especially if your feet are on the wider side… Let me know how you get on! Also, if this is your first time in zero drop then transitioning will take a few months, it’s worth it but go easy.

    @@movemorenowjames thank you so much. There’s only 1.5cm from the end of my toe to the end of the toe box without socks on so wouldn’t say there’s heaps of room - in that case would TTS be better do you think? I might order both my size and 0.5 down and see. Has anyone needed to go up 0.5? Well noted re Boa and thank you for that. Yes, this will be my first time. I’m thinking I start with the Mont Blanc so there’s at least a little cushion and not too much of a change compared to the LP. Do you think this is appropriate? I fear jumping from a Hoka Clifton / Bondi to the LP will be huge haha. I will definitely reply back my findings! I’m going to Chamonix in a month so wanting something for those 20km+ runs. Wore Clifton’s last time but weren’t great. Thanks so much for your time.

    @@movemorenowjames hello, me again. I just got delivered a size 9.5 and 9 just to see. My verdict and I’m still stuck! The 9 has more stability in the heel and width is good. The 9.5 has a little more room which could be better when my feet get hot during the run. I don’t know which to do 😂

    @@movemorenowjames hello, I did a 30km on trails today. I decided to wear my 9.5 - with the 9 there was only about 1cm between my toe and the end of the shoe which isn’t much room. The 9.5 width is amazing, no issues with the heel, there might be 0.5cm more on the length then I would like like. When my feet were hot they fit perfect. I’m probably between 9 and the 9.5. I probably could’ve worn the 9 and been good, maybe it would be better since it’s more secure in the toe! Spent ages trying to pick. Sorry for going on so long. Thanks

    Foot shaped shoes are not for people who have weird wide feet. Our feet, are a certain natural shape when we are born and over the many many years we wear shoes that force our feet to change their natural shape. James, you do NOT have weird wide feet. You embrace a shoe brand that enhances your foot's natural shape. Please consider re-evaluating your opinion on thinking you have strangely wide feet. Society has decided we have wide feet because we are trying to wear something more natural and not "conforming". You have a platform here mate to educate. Stay strong with the WHY. Shame about the boas not working out but good that you found a solution to keep wearing them. Personally, I think the bone structure of your left foot is slightly different to your right. Nowt to do with the different width.
