Altima ECU Update

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video shows you the tools required to flash a Nissan. I use the factory tool because I have had the J2534 tool fail on me to many times. This video walks you thru the steps from verifying the update, purchasing the flash, moving the files around (horrible system Nissan has), then to flashing the car, and then completing the after programming steps.

    As a Nissan tech it will do wireless programming. Esm states to plug it up but the training program techs go to does not require you to tether the vi to the consult. But good video for those not familiar to Nissan one scanner.

    I have done some wireless however, I have seen so many problems with these that I'm to nervous to do it often. This is one I tether because the aftermarket is missing a lot of things they have at the dealer (Fast, Asist). I have had little lucky in recovery of a failed flash. Thanks for sharing though. Its interesting to hear what the dealer teaches

    Mobile Advanced Diagnostics & Programming I work for an independent shop now but I worked for Chrysler dodge Jeep for 15 years. We programmed a lot of pcm’s also a lot of flash updating software. It was pretty easy using MDS with starscan or star Mobil factory tools or with older cars the DRB 3. Paul Danner sent me over. There are a lot of independent shops that would find your content pretty useful. Lots more tools for the aftermarket coming out for reprogramming controllers.

    Huntnfishnuts, I have a love hate relationship with Chrysler. It’s one of the worst ones to do with J2534 vs factory tooling. The one elusive tool I don’t own is a DRB3. People seem to want gold for them when I find one.

    Mobile Advanced Diagnostics & Programming I have a DRB 3 but it is not reliable for reprogramming it reboots every now and again. I should send it in and get it fixed. Where I work we don’t do pcm programming or reflashing but I was thinking of getting the Autel box I already have the scan tool. Flashing the mopar pcms even in the dealer was an issue sometimes, you always had that one that did not want to program. Can be VERY frustrating.

I replaced the cables and still use it. The 100amp is nice because all the cables are removable. Also, several BMWs require 100amps. Carlos at AES can help you out with a price on the 100amp. mr metallica check power and grounds for the ecm and also check can communication lines. Verify pin tension on the conectors. If all check out ok then the ecm went bad. I personally seen nissan ecm go bad and have a no comm issue. Hope this info is helpful.

  • @mobileadvanceddiagnosticsp551

    @mobileadvanceddiagnosticsp551

    6 жыл бұрын

    These ECMs fail quite often. You need to have the powers and ground tested to the ECM. I would do a loaded voltage drop test on each. Then make sure the can lines have communication to the ECM. After that I would see if any of the 5v sensors (TPS, CAM, Crank) have 5v. If everything checks out its more than likely a bad PCM. The good news you can do a used one. You just need to make sure all the numbers on the ECM match exactly. Then you need to have the vin changed, keys learned and the idle air volume learn done.

  • @mobileadvanceddiagnosticsp551

    It wasn't bad. The car had a P0101. There is a TSB to update the ECM for this problem. No the Elite will not flash with the tablet. However, you could use the jbox with a laptop to do this update. The problem is until NERS 3.08 it was risky. I don't like to live that dangerous so I bought the factory tool.

    Most cars end up being updated for a TSB that relates to a problem. Once in a while, not very often I suspect a logic problem and just go with a gut feeling of updating it to see if it corrects it. The only time I replace a computer without updating first is for a hard fault such as no injector driver.
