...This is where the F.M. happens. This is what the former military guys I worked with at General Electric would say. They would say that, when they were training us at the Computer Services division. This is F.M. I was like Frequency Modulation, which was what a new tech out of tech school would say in 1988. And they'd say NO... Freaking Magic.! 😂 Most of my trainers at G.E. were Ex radio and radar operators in the military, and that's how they all responded, when I asked questions. They were the best Trainers, and the best people to learn Electronics and Tech service from, nothing but hands on training. ✌🏼

I wish this video was out 8 month ago. For a cheaper option, you dont have to reprogram using a scanner. If your old cpu chip is still okay, you can de solder and transfer that original chip on new pcm board.Thats where the VIN is programmed on these new ECUs, not on EEProm for emissions purposes. Also exact Match new pcm part number with old part number Before buying.

I'm in the market for a breakout box and the godiag gt100+ is reasonably priced comparatively to OTC and PowerProbe. Would you recommend the gt100 as a general breakout or would you suggest keeping with the more "basic" OTC, PowerProbe etc models? I doubt I'll ever be powering up an ecu on a bench lol Thank you and take care!

I have a question, i have a 2011 Altima i bought brand new. Never had much trouble out of it until December 2021 I went to go somewhere and it dropped into limp mode for no reason. The engine light didn't come one until after i took it right back home and restarted it a few times. Then it came up with code P0705 Shift Range Sensor. It had been replaced once by Nissan under warranty but it was only an engine light that time. This time it just went into limp mode with no warning. It took me a couple of weeks and an educated guess to figure out the ecm was bad, I guess its bad. I didn't try to find out if it was repairable i just orderd ine from Flagship1 online they sent me one but I had to send mine and theirs back to clone mine. After that it ran fine until a couple of weeks ago it did the same thing again. So my question is, when it gors out, the reverse lights are on all the time engine off too so does it mean mine is damaged everytime it does rhat or can i reprogram one or possibly both of the ones I have? Also mine is a 2011 is it going to be as hard to reprogram even if I get another one? At this rate I'm thinking I'd fair better to learn how to do these things myself if this is going to be a problem. My car inly has 60,000 miles on it so it's very irritating that I bought this thing brand new and barely got 60,000 miles and ready to give up on it.

Hi, thanks for the very informative video. Just curious did the vehicle start after this process? I tried similar cloning on a 2017 Pathfinder with no success. I had to swap mpu & other chip (not eeprom) because immo data was stored in both. If Consult 3+ is not available flash can also be changed with NERS, flash file will still need to be purchased from Nissan.

Hi Keith. Great videos, although a bit over my head at the moment. I have a question if that's ok? Iv just purchased a Godiag GT100 pro and am trying to find a fault on a Siemens SIM4 LE from a Merc. The DTC is low voltage on terminal 30. And when I backprobe the 5v ref at the connector, I'm only getting a couple of volts. My question is, if the ECU is on the bench connected to the GT100 with all powers ground K-lines and CAN high and low. How do I test the pins to make sure they are giving the right voltage to the right component when not on the car? For instance if a 5v ref is on connector 3 pin 48 on the wiring diagram, should that pin show 5v on the multimeter on the bench? I can't seem to get any readings at all. Yet it is ok on the car except a low voltage on terminal 30 DTC. Any guidance very much appreciated. If you already have a video relating to this a link would be great. I couldn't find one myself. Keep up the awesome videos bud.

    1. PCM VIN can be changed in a vehicle, but it won't help! I had 10-15 cars with broken Rogue's PCM after the accident and I rewrite whole eeprom from broken PCM to donor PCM and the car doesn't start BECOUSE SYNC BYTES (with BCM) LOCATED IN EMULATED EEPROM INSIDE MCU! If you are installing brand new pcm and program it from base software then you can start the car with empty VIN. Nissan cars do not need VIN for security purpose like Chrysler. I replaced PCM in Altima, Pathfinder, Q50, QX60. All of these cars have 20 digit pin code. And I did it with Nissan Consult with no problem. Only Nissan Rogue has one time write sync bytes. 2. Nissan Consult NEVER EVER give you to change the FLASH to different software except software updating like on the video. On the video we can see Operation: REPROGRAMMING it means SOFTWARE UPDATE from lower part # to next one and never means changing to random software. In theory we can play with config files and cheat the Consult but I'm not sure.

I will disagree with you based on this working for quite a few rogues for me so far, but it is anecdotal as others have told me they are having issues. Also we did so extensive editing on config files to change the software of this PCM, it was not a regular update. The part about cheating consult, is exactly what we did.

@@L1Training So I never played with config files and I will try it in a future. Thanks for your hint. Now about security. All my friends from vehicles electronic repairs found only one way to start the Rogues - switch MCU from original PCM to another one. We tried to read MCU through UART or JTAG but it is locked.
