Alternative wildwood strategy to maximize wisps and save your sanity (no diamonds) Post 3.23.1 patch

This is a strategy that has been working well for me, even with bad starting positions. Maybe my IQ or spatial awareness is too low for the popular diamond strategy but it's always confused me more than anything. The lowest I've gotten with this strategy is 3.5k. The highest is 10k+. On average I'm getting about 6k.
Tips:
1. Use widescreen (mandatory if you want to maximize distance traveled with lightning warp)
2. Only use lightning warp to travel while inside wildwood, unless you are inside an event area or have touched a reveal bubble - save your fuel!
3. Try to click the corners of the screen to maximize the distance you travel between warps - it save you a ton of fuel in the long run. Going up/down while using lightning warp is really bad, but unavoidable.
4. Leave monsters and lingering wisps that are near the darkness for later after you have run out of fuel - save your fuel for reveal as much of the map as possible.
5. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE TRAILS (don't even think about diamonds)
Trails will always lead you to the next event or at least a pack of afflicted mobs, as long as they don't end abruptly. If they do, turn back and find another one. Trails that surround events are curved and often times loop back towards the same event, so those are the only exception. If you do see a curved trail like that while navigating in the darkness, it's a good sign your very close to an event and try to lightning warp PAST that curve. Events are not as important as you think - many of the rare afflicted mobs that you find randomly hiding in the darkness between events give 300+ juice each. Many of the events are duds as well (think vendor, strongbox, beyond, shrine, spiders, etc) . This is why this strategy works so well - it doesn't rely on events as much as wisp trails.
6. Take it slow - after each lightning warp look at the direction the wisp is "pulling" you. Pay attention to the strength of the trail: if the trail is getting "weaker" it's a sign that it is actually just a pack of afflicted mobs (which will still give you wisps). Kill them and turn back to find another trail that gets "stronger" imgur.com/a/7XYyNBB image of weak and strong wisp trails
7. if you spawn with no wisps, no problem. take little steps out towards the darkness until monster aggros you. then warp towards that direction until you either find more monsters, a wisp trail, or event.
