Alter Jägermarsch (Imperial German March)

Hey yall, im still alive yes.
Alter Jägermarsch was composed in 1813 during the Napoleonic Wars for the Prussian Jägers. Elite sharpshooters that acted as light infantry for the Prussian army. This song was quite a popular tune not only among Prussian and later German Jägers, but other Regiments of Infantry found the tune to be quite a moral boost. After the song was composed, the Russian army (of whome Prussia was allied with in 1813) adapted it in there also now famous "егерский марш" (of which I also have a video on).
Please keep the comments civil thanks :)

This march was written even before the Napoleonic wars for the the Light Infantry Companies of Tsezarevic Pavel, later HEM Leib Garde Jagger Regiment. The music became known in Europe since 1798, when Russian Jager commands of the 1st Russian Corps headed by general Andrei Rosenberg to Krems, Austria, as a part of the ally army under command of Feldmarshal Suvorov to crash French forces in Italy. Later, after the defeat of the Great Army of Napoleon in Russia, Prussian Kingdom that also have sent its army to serve Napoleon in his war with the Russian Empire, returned to its military union with the latter. After the joint fight against France the march of HEM LG Jagger Regiment became the march of Garde-Jäger-Bataillon of the King of Prussia and became very popular in German lands.

Yes! How wonderful these marches are, the patriotism by all sides! Makes your pride swell for your country. But, in war, being pounded by canons, knowing there is nothing you can do, but duck your head and ride it out. Knowing that when the canons stop, the enemy will attack with all they have got. At that time when your fear is greatest, your nerves are twitching, you as a soldier won't remember all pomp and ceremony of any of these marches!
