So the Rubber Toe Cap ( like chucks ) hurts at first, so the way to break this boot in is to Get them wet. That is what they are designed to do, perform underwater. Submerge them while wearing them, bring several pairs of socks, and wear them all day. Takes only a say or two to break them in completely.

Mine lasted over 3 years so far and the only reason I’m retiring them is because they look worn out but they are still useable.

I wonder how long that outsole will last. I bought the Danner Tachyon and was really disappointed with how fast the outsole wore out.

They are but the insert interferes with that so I replace the black thick inserts with wool felt or just remove altogether. They do require some break-in time. I use mine for wade fishing, beach, flats and mountain streams, walk them dry s couple of times and they fit like a glove. I also hike in mine now that me feet are used to zero drop soles.

I have had three pairs of these and sadly they aren't worth the hype. Dozen's of long uncut threads inside. The sole material is almost a hard plastic and wears out quickly. The sole has hardly any grip at all. The vents( elastic) blows out in weeks and the insole sucks. These shoes might be "dope" for all the tier one operators who are getting them for that deep behind enemy lines marine op... and can treat them like the are disposable...but if you are paying between 105.00 and 170.00 for these things you are getting hosed. They are literally disposable. 2-3 months tops before they are smooth on the bottom and done. I have been using the Salomon Speed Assault 2 and the Inov8 trail fly G 270 for a couple of years. Both are excellent. If I need them to be water "proof" I wear a Rocky gore tex sock. Both are light, deep lugs/grip and drain/dry quickly. On the Speed assault 2 I replaced the insole with an older pair from my inov8's. The Salomon insole retains water.

Thanks for the feedback! I used Speed Assault as well and they are awesome. I have since switched to Speedcross 6, a bit lighter and easier to find, but haven't had a chance to check anything out from Inov8, will definitely add them on my to-do list.
