alt.metal Blackouts® Overview with Ryan "Fluff" Bruce
Музыка
Ryan "Fluff" Bruce demos our alt.metal Blackouts!
Inspired by the merciless roar of alternative metal guitar tones, our active alt.metal Blackout® pickups are perfect for heavy riffs in lower tunings. Compared to the original Blackouts®, the alt.metal pickups enhance the low-end tightness, along with adding top-end bite without harshness. If you are looking for crushing alternative metal power, get this!
The alt.metal bridge retains the energy and output of the original Blackout® but emphasizes the percussive quality of palm-muted notes. The alt.metal neck ensures perfect clean tones, while transforming with aggressive mids and increased sustain under higher gain settings.
The alt.metal Blackout® set includes all necessary installation hardware. alt.metal Blackouts® are available in passive mount for 6-string guitars and in both passive and active soapbar mount configurations for 7-string models.

Yea it is, I have them and yea these are those renamed. They legit do the same exact thing. Maybe they tweaked some things but I can’t imagine they spent the extra time and $ to do that 😂

@@mattlombardi54 I have them too in my Jackson SL2 Mick's signature and the only thing missing is the "SEVEN" logo on the sides 😆😆

Or the dino set from fear factory. Or Corey from trivium. I believe all 3 signature sets has the S in the middle of the pickups.
I know it's mainly for heavy tones and chugging, but that neck clean tone is nice.
30 years old, been using Duncans since I was 14.
Very clever using a Jim Root jazzmaster for this.
are these just the "7"pickups renamed after mick went to fishman
@mattlombardi54

I’d say so since they sound identical to my Mick Thompson set lol

Yeah they are except the bridge is a ceramic magnet rather than alnico like the MT

These are similar to the MT but there's some differences in the chugginess and they clean up a lot better than the MT set does at least to my ears
Those sounds great!
Just in time for my jazzmaster build…I’ll be having that please
Didn’t fluff just say that Pickups don’t matter and don’t impact tone? Probably not a good person to endorse your product.

I thought that was Glenn? Fluff has had like 2 signature pickup sets

@@andysixxlett2632 can you link to the video? I’ve followed fluff for years he talks about the benefits and differences of this pickup and that pickup all the time. I’d be curious to see this
Im very happy about this the EMTY are my favorites better than Fluence modern to me and way better than Loomis blackouts.
I love Duncans, they sound aggressive and precise, when I stop forgetting to change the battery, I will definitely try these active ones xD, I am very happy with Nazgul on my 7-string and with Pegasus on the six-string baritone \m/

If you unplug your guitar it doesn't drain the battery.

@@shawngraham4075 Thanks for your advice, until recently I tried some Fishman Fluence with the rechargeable battery. I think it's great how they are moving forward with the issue of batteries, but in general active humbuckers are not my thing at the moment =)
Sooooo micks emty pickups jest renamed. I’m cool with this because I love the pickup set
Do you think these will sound good in a Les Paul Epiphone?

Yeah, we need to be able to see them from space...and who doesn't want an "ss" on their guitar 🙄
Something about the name Alt rubs me the wrong way. As if it's not as good.

It's less cringe than calling them "Nu Metal" if these are actually rebranded Mick Thomson Blackouts. Also, there's a lot of good "alt metal" bands out there such as Deftones, Tool, Chevelle, etc.
