How is the wind noise? Thats my main concern...the Pista GP RR wind noise is insane so if this is quieter it wins in my book 🤷‍♂️

The Pista RR is pure race helmet and where this R10 is more compared to the X-fifteen helmet. I have both pista rr and r10 and can say my pista rr is louder but lighter than the r10.

@@jmx7656would you recommend a pista or r10? I currently have a bell race star which I love but I’ve been looking for a sportier helmet. I’ve been debating on preordering the r10 or getting a pista. I don’t really care about street comfort but more track utility

@@ivyops8140 track utility, I would prefer the Pista RR if not caring for noise. Both feel very comfortable but the R10 is more comfortable than the Pista and it is definitely quieter. The shield on the pista is only fully open or closed, where as the shield on the R10, you can adjust how high and how low you want the shield to be.

How loud is the wind noise in this helmet

Great review but question, I have just picked up a Bell Race Star flex Dlx Tantrum-2 and find it to have the same features and even a bit more in some cases, pro tint shield missing for sure. Have been a Shoie guy for most of my 47 riding years and some Arai years as well. While I haven't had a chance to try this yet what are your thoughts on the Bell. I have found the Bell to offer all the same benefits as Alpinstats entry model into the space but at a much cheaper price, I am aware this is a R10 review but would like to know if this would be another great addition to grab once available since all launch edition seem to be all sold out. Thanks and if anyone would like to chime in that would be great. Cheers

I'm a fan of the Bell Race Star series, which is Bell's highest level helmet. The lower-end Bell helmets seem and feel cheap and don't fit my head as well. If anything, the ventilation between the Bell and R10 is better on the R10. That's been my experience, anyway.

I am more of daily commute rider with standard bike, will it be overkill to get this?

On a different point of view, if aliens were walking around I think if they saw someone wearing one of these lids they’d simply approach and say hi bro! Cool looking lid. 👍👍

no transition shield like Shoei or Bell, thaat is a point to consider for me, i hate carry an extra piece

How is this gonna work for riders they sponsor who are also sponsored by other helmet company’s? Are they going to be 100% A-Stars?

Please make a modular version

How quiet is this helmet? I've ridden in a lot of different brands at a lot of different price points and the amount of wind noise always varies. It's baffling to me when you're almost spending $1000 for a helmet that it's deafening when your riding down the highway (with ear plugs in).

From some of the reviews I’ve seen on other channels, this helmet is not quiet. It’s a racing helmet and the reviewer (I can’t remember the name of his channel), said, you definitely need ear plugs to diminish the noise. I’m 100% with you. If you’re spending $1000 on a helmet, I expect it to be as quiet as quiet can be. I get some wind noise but when it’s excessif, you failed your customers! I’m an AGV guy and the Pista GP RR is ridiculously loud. So loud they actually include ear plugs in the box!!! That’s crazy to me!

I believe the price was $1,500/USD but these were a limited edition run of only 200 helmets made and sold out quickly. I tried to order one when they came out but missed out.

I was lucky and have #39/200. Really want them to release different size liners and cheek pads.

They do. I got 18/200. In the little booklet it came with it says you can get different cheek pads on their website

Got a Shoei X14 Marquez edition which I love, I've been wearing Shoei X-spirit from 2002 and loved them. I really like this A'Star so i would like for you guys to do a group test to see them head to head (literally LOL). Cheers

I dont understand why people have such a difficult time with switching arai shields, its easier then this one, or atleast the same, pull up, push in unlatch, take of, put on move down up, relatch and there you go, max 30 seconds if youre new.

Sounds like a lot of marketing

The visor arrangement is so Sub-Par that this helmet should not exist - Who, in their right mind, would risk that mind inside an untried and unproven helmet ? You say Moto GP riders had a hand in design - not at all likely - More likely is they were given completed designs and asked to critique. I cannot imagine a world in which Davisioso has CAD and materials design experience. I'll stick with the world's best helmet, ARAI ! Thank you very much.

These reviews that are orchestrated by the marketing departments of the product companies are completely worthless. Especially when you open by saying you are biased towards AStars gear. This is a waste of time.

I have to agree, the presentation was all over the place, if he’s trying to “influence” buyers (and I know they sold out this model in 10 seconds!) then the only thing he influenced me to do was to go buy a Shoei. I also find it incredible that the AlpineStars marketing dept didn’t ask for a retake, golden rule in safety marketing is don’t say “dead!”…this guy couldn’t stop himself!

Ha $1000. People are scalping them for $4500

so that's great that they keep the weight minimum. But you never say what the weight is. pretty pointless review. thanks for nothing.
