I’m 5’11” as well. I literally wear all the same sizes you wear. My alpinestars textile is 54. But with this jacket I had to go 56. My arms are super long for some reason. But I do love the jacket. My first leather jacket. Great review as always.

What is your recommendation on size for this jacket? I find that my challenge with A-stars is in the arm pits; I can fit in a 52 and while I think the overall fit is fantastic, I find the arms digging too much into my pits. I usually size up to the 54 to make this area more comfortable but always find that the jacket is just a hair bigger than I'd prefer Measurements: I'm just about 6ft (literally a matter of a quarter inch difference) with broad shoulder and with a decent build. Size 31 pant and about 179 lbs on a good day. According to the size chart, it puts me in a 50 (39' chest) but that simply doesn't work (way too tight for any armor).

Having the jacket dig into your armpits is no good. If you need to go to the 54 Euro to avoid this then this is what you need to do. - Van

I'm looking for a decent fall/winter jacket. Commuting around town mainly in dry above 40° weather, what do you recommend? It doesn't have to be waterproof, I try to avoid rain at all cost.

What size do you recommend for 6' and 163 lb? Maybe a 50 or a 52? I only ride on the street. Not sure if 50 is too short since I am 6'. Thank you!

I would not expect there to be any issues with the stretch fabric. There are a couple of older Astars suits in my collection and I have not seen any deterioration with the stretch. - Van

Thanks for the great review as always Van. How does this stack up to the GP Plus R V3 Rideknit? It appears they both have the same armor in the shoulders elbows and both have slots for back protectors, but the Rideknit looks to be built better. Is it worth the extra $160? Do you know how the airflow compares?

The Rideknit is a higher end jacket IMO. End of the day they are both good jackets and only you can decide if the Rideknit is worth the extra spend. - Van
