Alpine Rivers: The Cradle if Life | Nature Documentary
Watch 'Alpine Lakes - An Enchanting Underwater World' here: • The Fascinating World ...
What would happen to the mountains without water? They would turn into deserts, devoid of life and vegetation. But there are very few mountains without water on our planet. They take care of this themselves, creating their life’s element and taking water directly from the sky by entrapping the clouds around them.
This water then collects on the flanks of the mountains, where it turns from rivulets into rivers, that flow out into the oceans. Mountains and water are symbiotic, a cycle that keeps life on earth going. Mountain streams slowly move along meadows before, only moments later, turning into the spray of waterfalls or small mystic lakes. What kind of life can be found in and around this mysterious cosmos?
We will investigate the world of the rare Danube salmon and be there to see the Danube bleak spawn. We will follow giant wels catfish into their hideouts, see great crested grebes on their underwater hunting. We go diving under the ice of frozen mountain streams and lakes, discovering life where none was thought possible.

@@profcreamsicle if you don't believe then why does it matter if someone else does? Does it really make you feel better to go out of your way to tell someone that believes in God that he isn't real? I think everyone should be able to believe in what ever they want. If you don't believe in god I'm not going to try to change your mind, believe what you want. But don't be rude by telling someone their beliefs are wrong
At a time when there's so much bad news and misery in the world, watching a wonderful documentary like this just proves what a beautiful planet we live on. The joy of nature has no bounds. Absolutely spellbinding

Documentaries like these just make me appreciate how amazing the world we live in is and how much bigger it is than we experience. Also I'm glad they go over a lot more animals than are usually seen in a nature documentary.

Seeing this makes me miss my childhood home used to have a quarter mile driveway back in the woods absolutely beautiful watching the storms roll over the mountains and up the valley

loki mischievous yeah idk why so many people limit themselves to , or the content to such short confines when there’s so much being shown that actually can draw in the viewers ... they should be incisive off less diversely shown footage / content if they don’t want ppl to be left hanging wanting more and feeling left with this incomplete feeling ... or just direct the content of the narrative in a way that’s Able to come to a stopping point ,. I know production takes time , etc. but often there’s still enough usable footage and content to exceed the short time markers .,, I could listen to a well narrated / well informed documentary for hours on end honestly 😂.

this was pretty amazing, and stunning footage images . Very fresh and free from the need to speculate on theories about origin which usually distract. It was very centered on the facts and described it realistically, poetically and esthetically. It was like good food. Make you crave for more. Truly wonderful, informative and inspiring!

Someone please tell me where this was filmed? Alpines are my all time favorite locations in the world, and this is the most beautiful alpine region I’ve ever seen!

Probably Germany, the Black Forest mountains, the birthplace of the Danube river. Since there is a Danube salmon mentioned it might be it. My two cents. I think you can check for that species and see where it lives but it's definitely Europe.
Nature is a gift, and this documentary shows that, but I wish it wasn't so romanticized. The wide shots, dream-like music and editing show nature as some kind of eternal structure, when in fact the alpine stream often lays off the side of a major highway and is polluted to the point where industrial equipment would be needed to clean it out. Nature is fragile, not eternal. But I'm a critic, maybe this sleepy sequence will inspire people to get outside and see the damage for themselves. *edited a spelling error

Absolutely fabulous!
That was enjoyable thanks 😊... but just saying, that perch got chomped because of the divers night light. It happens loads on our night dives where barracuda or red snapper have learnt to follow and hunt by dive torches. Hence we dive brief and try not to spotlight linger on fish, or light stun them 😅🙈
