Bruh this is the music that was used in the announcement video for Goliath at Six Flags Great America.... This music makes sense in that use but not for a freaking bobsled coaster lolol

Very sad to see it go, it was my first rollercoaster do to how low the height requirement was. It's always been hard to ride, whether always shut it down and then maintenance because of the design. It's sad that its probably headed for the scrap pile, it's a very unique coaster. Please get an updated POV for history. Would be nice to see another coaster in its spot, not just more water slides.... Thanks for letting us know it's closing, at least some of use locals have a chance to ride it one more time before it's gone.

The Bobcat (A Wooden Rollercoaster similar to The Comet) will take its place and be open in the summer of 2024! :)

Really a great ride that fits the surrounding area so well.

Rest in peace, Alpine Bobsled. You had a good long life since your start in 1984 at Great Adventure, but now it's time to go to the great amusement park in the sky. Hopefully Bobcat will be a worthy replacement.

Goodbye Alpine Bobsled. We will miss you. Since you here in 1984, until the emd in 2023... It was fun while it lasted. R.I.P 1984-2023

I’m sad for it to close, but it was a fun ride. I actually rid it on the same day I broke my arm 2 years ago. Funny thing is it literally broke down when I was in line, but that caused some people to leave, which helped me get farther in line. Let’s hope Six Flags can make another no-track roller coaster Edit: Somehow the ride was operating on Sept 1st, so I went in it a few times. I can’t believe they’re taking down the Alpine Bobsled, it’s a thrill!

I rode yesterday. Fun ride, I especially like the big drop off the first midcourse and the little bit of floater airtime you get on the transitions.

So short and the multiple slow down spots are EXTREMELY painful.

I love this ride and when it was not on the rails on a hill I heard it lift up from the track

I went on that and I thought it was going to be scary but it was so much fun

Bob sled is finally open again!! I went on it with my friends a few days ago!

My 10th roller coaster :)

I'm glad it's replacement it's going to be a wooden coaster called Bobcat built by the Gravity Group. An excellent addition to the park.

Great Escape, guys, you got rid of a coaster, and it was this and not Steamin' Demon. I know this wasn't reliable, but it was at least good when it worked. Steamin' Demon is a relic of a time when going upside down was a novelty. You could've scrapped that coaster and bought Mindbender. Galaxyland got rid of it and it probably would've fit on Steamin' Demon's footprint.

I was with ace on the last day of this ride being open. I can see why they are removing it. I’ll miss this ride.

Sensitive subject haha. Alpine Bobsled was a little grumpy that morning but ultimately came through. Next up, The Bobcat!

If it gets to be too much in maintenance, might I suggest a GCI...

@@domsuzuki8778 It's still closed. I went on Friday, but that was also the day after a flood warning and heavy rain storm. A lot of the rides were closed due to rain. Probably half the park was closed. Plus the park lost power for half an hour. Best school trip ever. (

You need to go when it’s sunny and the night before it doesn’t rain .Then you have to wait for the rides track to dry .This should really be indoor roller coasters

Aight y’all are wrong, the ride is very temperamental and the sensor go wack even over the slightest thing. It is down majority of the time due to weather (rain or storms).

I love this ride but my man everything thinks it's gonna fly off bc no track

Last few times ive went the staffing was bad and nobody wants to pay ticket prices. My guess is that alot of business dropped when they started doing express passes that allowed people to jump lines

They are separated into "Blocks", that means multiple sleds can run at once buts its mainly to keep the speed under control.

Shit almost flew off the ledge when I was there they had to shut it down

You could tear this monstrosity down and build a eurofighter there.

Eurofightere aren't all that common. Plus, the park could really use it. I don't see them building something big anytime soon. If they're inject something new into their lack luster thrill selection, it's a good option.

The space is way too small for an RMC. The spot where the nightmare building currently is would be a great spot for an RMC, but again the reason why I suggest Eurofighter is because it's very unlikely that great escape will build anything big anytime soon. Ideally though, the two coaster great escape could really use are an RMC a launched wing coaster.

Yeah, it would be great if they built an RMC. But it's just not realistic. Building a little eurofighter in the bobsled spot is viable.

good point. I guess an el loco or 4d free spin would work. Literally anything would work at this point; it's been 13 years since the last coaster, and that was just a bad vekome minetrain.

No, because *Arrow* is bankrupt and dead, and for *Intamin* the ride would be expensive to build.

No cap this ride sucks. It rearranges my organs every time I’ve went on it. It’s also never working. When we’re out of quarantine just throw the whole ride away please and thanks
