Send them to Dave Page in Seattle if they need any work. He's the world's largest resoler and repairer of hiking boots. From the old school, rough out, full grain leather, welted hiking boots of yesteryear all the way up to the style of boot identical to the Varusteleka Alpina Tundra. Dave Page took my worn out, falling apart, Vasque Asolo hiking boots and completely refurbished them with new Vibram soles, midsoles, and stitching. Insanely good workmanship, and he now has people working for him who will continue the tradition of repairing outdoors oriented footwear, which is definitely a dying trade.

Fun fact... Thickly lather up your feet with Vaseline before putting on socks and you'll never get blisters. When your feet get wet use hand sanitizer gel to draw the moisture out of your feet before putting on more Vaseline and dry socks. Best hiking advice I've received over the years 👍

👍👍👍 Hi Jess .. Nice post .. and a nice-looking pair of boots. I have enough pairs of boots to see me into the afterlife and if I had to get another, I would be in trouble 😁. 'Dubbin' (or it's equivalent here in Switzerland, 'Lederfett') has been my go-to since day one. I find that a twice-annual treatment (more under really wet, muddy conditions) suffices to keep my leather footwear in good condition .. that excludes regular polishing with shoe polish (Nugget or Kiwi). I remove the laces in order to get into all of the nooks and crannies and at the boot tongue. And yes, a thorough clean with a brush / toothbrush under running water immediately after returning from an outing is a given .. the worse being removing slugs that have become part of the boot sole tread Infrastructure / 'welded' .. how are these in warmer temperatures? And are these insulated at all? I want nice leather boots for their waterproofing but I'm concerned about them being too hot for weather above about 70 degrees fahrenheit.

They are lightly insulated. I mentioned this in the video, but in warmer weather, I typically prefer a lighter weight desert style boot; unless it is wet, then I will wear these.

How about the size?

Size is good. I usually wear wide, and these are great. They do euro and UK sizes. If looking for US size, order a UK one size up from your normal US size.

@@martindodov3209 They are really nice. Waterproof with regular care. I use an oil on mine as mentioned in video. They are a little warm for hot weather, but perfect for spring, fall and winter.
